Aberbargoed Hospital (Welsh: Ysbyty Aberbargoed) was a community hospital in Aberbargoed, Caerphilly County Borough, Wales. It was managed by the Aneurin Bevan University Health Board.

Aber Bargoed railway station was a small railway station in the valleys north of Cardiff. Opened as Aber Bargoed by the Brecon & Merthyr Junction Railway, the station went through several changes of name before closure. Despite the similarity in the name it is not the Bargoed station now open on the line to Rhymney.

Aberbargoed Buds Football Club is a football club based in Aberbargoed, Wales. The team play in the Gwent County League Premier Division, tier 4 of the Welsh football pyramid.

The Rhymney Valley (Welsh: Cwm Rhymni) is one of the South Wales valleys, with the Rhymney River forming the border between the historic counties of Glamorgan and Monmouthshire. Between 1974 and 1996 a Rhymney Valley local government district also existed (one of six of Mid Glamorgan). The valley encompasses the villages of Abertysswg, Fochriw, Pontlottyn, Tir-Phil, New Tredegar, Nelson, Aberbargoed, Rhymney, Ystrad Mynach and Llanbradach, and the towns of Bargoed and Caerphilly.

Bargoed Town Hall (Welsh: Neuadd y Dref Bargod) is a municipal building located on Hanbury Road, Bargoed in the Rhymney Valley in Wales. The town hall, which is the meeting place of Bargoed Town Council, is a Grade II listed building.

Cwmsyfiog Halt railway station served the suburb of Cwmsyfiog, Monmouthshire, Wales, from 1937 to 1962 on the Brecon and Merthyr Tydfil Junction Railway.

Gilfach Fargoed railway station is a railway station serving the village of Gilfach, in Caerphilly county borough, south Wales. It is a stop on the Rhymney Line of the Valley Lines network. The platforms are short (16 m or 52 ft) and can barely accommodate a British Rail Class 153 train, due to its small size it is affectionately nicknamed "Gilfach International". Passengers can only alight from the front doors of any train calling here, so the conductor on longer trains must give passengers advance notice so that they have time to move towards the front set of doors.

Brithdir is a small village in the northern part of the Rhymney Valley near New Tredegar, in the county borough of Caerphilly, south Wales, and within the historic boundaries of Glamorgan. It was formed in the early twentieth century to provide housing for men working at the local coal mines including Elliot's colliery. Centuries before Brithdir was constructed a stone was erected on the mountain top above the village to mark the burial place of Tegernacus, son of Martius. The stone, believed to have been placed in the 7th century, was originally in a field north west of Capel Brithdir. However, in 1922 the Tegernacus Stone was moved to the National Museum Cardiff where it remains on display. The village is served by Brithdir railway station. Kieron Evans (born 2001), footballer for Cardiff City F.C., was born in Brithdir, but went to school in Bargoed.

Brithdir railway station is a railway station serving the village of Brithdir near New Tredegar, South Wales. It is a stop on the Rhymney Line 18+3⁄4 miles (30.2 km) north of Cardiff Central which is part of the Transport for Wales network. Work to extend the platform for six-car trains is in progress.

Bedwellty is a small village in Caerphilly County Borough in south Wales. The village stands on a ridge of high ground between the Rhymney and Sirhowy valleys. The village comprises a parish church, public house and a few houses. The ancient parish of Bedwellty lay in Monmouthshire and covered a large area. Several industrial and mining towns grew up within the parish boundary, including Ebbw Vale, Rhymney, and Tredegar. These gradually gained administrative independence from Bedwellty between the 1870s and 1890s. A Bedwellty Local Government District was established for the rest of the parish in 1891, becoming an urban district in 1894. Bedwellty Urban District was abolished in 1974, being divided between the Rhymney Valley and Islwyn districts. A community called Bedwellty was then created for the part of the former urban district which lay within Islwyn. The community of Bedwellty was abolished in 1982, being divided into the four communities of Argoed, Blackwood, Cefn Fforest, and Pengam.
