Lake Lans

The Fen of Lans (also Lanser Moor or Water Lily Pond) is located north above Lake Lans at an altitude of 582 metres in the Paschberg forest. With an area of 8000 m² and a depth of 3 metres the lake is much smaller than its neighbour. To keep its natural beauty intact, bathing and swimming was already forbidden by the city administration of Innsbruck very early. The lake is under nature conservation. The muddy water has reed-lined shores which often hide big quicksand-like puddles. The water quality fluctuates between A and B grade. Smaller kinds of carp, roach, and rudd live in the lake and several ducks call the lake home.

The Mühlsee, or Lake Mills, is a lake in Lans, Tyrol. It had an inflow and outflow, but they were buried in 2005. Nowadays, the lake is without fresh water.In 1840, the lake was drained. It was allowed to refill after a fire in 1902.The lake is mainly used for fish breeding; bathing is prohibited due to the small size. Sometimes the lake is plagued by algae. There are high reeds along the shore often hiding fen puddles which act like quicksand.

Lans is a town in the district of Innsbruck Land in the Austrian state of Tyrol. The village is located 8 km (15 minutes by car) south of the city of Innsbruck. Lans is located on the old salt road and first mentioned in 1180 as "Lannes". The main attractions are the lake Lanser See, several good restaurants (Wilder Mann, Isserwirt, Walzl) and the health center Lanserhof. In summer, the golf resort Sperberegg is an additional attraction.

The Tivoli Stadion Tirol (formerly named Tivoli-Neu ) is a multi-purpose stadium in Innsbruck, Austria. It is currently used mostly for football matches and is the home ground of Bundesliga club WSG Tirol and Raiders Tirol of the European League of Football. The stadium capacity was 17,400 when it was built in 2000. For the UEFA Euro 2008 the stadium was temporarily expanded to 30,000 people. The North Stand is fitted with rail seats for safe standing.

Aldrans is a municipality in the Innsbruck-Land District, Tyrol (Austria) at an altitude of 760 m (2,490 ft), which had an area of 8.89 km2 (3.43 sq mi) and 2,496 inhabitants as January 2015.

The Herzsee is a lake near the village center of Aldrans in the Tyrol region of Austria, and serves mainly for fish breeding. Formerly the Lake was opened to the public for swimming. The lake is covered in a wooded environment on a round travel route to Ampass or Sistrans. Its length is 200 m; its width is 50 m. Due to its small size, the lake is sometimes plagued by algae. Its water quality is Grade B. The Herztalbach is the natural outflow of the Lake and discharges into the Inn River after 5 km.

The Olympia Eisschnellaufbahn is a speed skating venue located in Innsbruck, Austria. The outdoor venue hosted the speed skating events both for the 1964 and the 1976 Winter Olympics and the 2012 Winter Youth Olympics. It is part of the OlympiaWorld Innsbruck consortium that is responsible for maintaining venues that hosted both the 1964 and the 1976 Winter Olympics.

The Tirol Panorama with the Museum of the Imperial Infantry or Tirol Panorama (German: Das Tirol Panorama mit Kaiserjägermuseum) is a museum in Innsbruck in the Austrian state of Tyrol, which is mainly important because it houses the Innsbruck Giant Panorama Painting.

OlympiaWorld Innsbruck is a multi-purpose sports facility complex in Innsbruck, Austria. It was opened in 1963. The complex served as the Olympic Park of the 1964 and 1976 Winter Olympics, as well as the 2012 and Winter Youth Olympics.

Olympiahalle is an indoor sports venue located in Innsbruck, Austria. During the 1964 Winter Olympics, it hosted the figure skating and ice hockey events. Twelve years later, at the 1976 Winter Olympics, it again hosted figure skating and ice hockey. Twelve years later, Olympic competitions were again held at the Olympiahalle. For the 2005 IIHF World Championship, it was renovated and built a smaller ice rink. The capacity is approximately 7,800 spectators at the Olympiahalle in Innsbruck, and approximately 3,200 in the smaller hall, the Tyrolean Ice Arena next door. The smaller hall hosts the HC Innsbruck for its games. In 2024 it will host the 2024 European Women's Handball Championship.

The Bergisel is a hill (746 m) that lies to the south of Innsbruck, Austria, in the area of Wilten, where the Sill river meets the Inn Valley. The word's first syllable Berg- doesn't correspond etymologically to the German word Berg with the meaning mountain. The Bergisel's contemporary name is derived from the pre-Roman word burgusinus (elevated position), which then altered through folk etymology, causing the occasional spelling Berg Isel or its English equivalent Mount Isel.Among its earlier uses were as a cremation site and as a habitation area during the Iron Age. In 1809, Bergisel was the site of the four Battles of Bergisel under the command of the freedom fighter Andreas Hofer. In 1892, the Andreas Hofer monument was erected in order to commemorate the battles. Since 1952, Innsbruck has hosted one leg of the Four Hills Tournament. The Bergiselschanze was built of concrete for the 1964 Winter Olympics to replace an older, smaller ramp. It was also used for the 1976 Winter Olympics. A new ramp was opened in 2003, designed by the architect Zaha Hadid, as the old one no longer conformed to contemporary requirements of ski jumping. Until an accident following a mass panic, which resulted in several deaths, the Bergisel stadium was also the site of the Air & Style snowboard festival. Both the Brenner railway and the Brennerautobahn have tunnels below the Bergisel. The Sill Gorge, a recreational site, is located at its base. The Bergisel can be reached by the Stubaitalbahn from Innsbruck, exiting at Station Sonnenburgerhof, or by the Tram 1, at Station Bergisel.

The Bergisel Ski Jump (German: Bergiselschanze), whose stadium has a capacity of 26,000, is a ski jumping hill located in Bergisel in Innsbruck, Austria. It is one of the more important venues in the FIS Ski Jumping World Cup, annually hosting the third competition of the prestigious Four Hills Tournament. Its first competitions were held in the 1920s using simple wood constructions. The larger hill was first built in 1930 and was rebuilt before the 1964 Winter Olympics for the individual large hill event. Twelve years later, the venue hosted the same event. The hill in its current form was finished in 2003 and was designed by the British Iraqi architect Zaha Hadid.
