Damariscotta River

The Little River is a 2.1-mile-long (3.4 km) stream and tidal river on Linekin Neck in the town of Boothbay in the U.S. state of Maine. It is a small tidal river for its lower 1.4 miles (2.3 km), entering the Atlantic Ocean just west of the mouth of the Damariscotta River.

Ram Island Light is a lighthouse located just offshore of Ram Island, marking the eastern entrance to Boothbay Harbor, Maine, and the west side of the mouth of the Damariscotta River. It was built in 1883 and automated in 1965. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places as Ram Island Light Station on January 21, 1988.

The Emily Means House is a historic house on Birch Island in South Bristol, Maine. Built in 1914, it is a distinctive local example of Mediterranean Revival architecture, designed by New York architect Samuel Very. It was built for Emily Means, a nationally known horticulturalist. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1985.

Fisherman Island, or Fisherman's Island, is a 71-acre (29 ha) island, on the central coast of Maine, United States. Located roughly midway between Damariscove Island and the mainland at Ocean Point, the privately owned island has a history of human activity predating the colonial period, and was settled by English fishermen in the 17th century. The island was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2015 for the significance of its prehistoric archaeological sites.

Bigelow Laboratory for Ocean Sciences, founded in 1974, is an independent, non-profit oceanography research institute. The Laboratory's research ranges from microbial oceanography to the large-scale biogeochemical processes that drive ocean ecosystems and health of the entire planet. The institute's LEED Platinum laboratory is located on its research and education campus in East Boothbay, Maine. Bigelow Laboratory supports the work of about 100 scientists and staff. The majority of the institute's funding comes from federal and state grants and contracts, philanthropic support, and licenses and contracts with the private sector.

South Bristol is a town in Lincoln County, Maine, United States. The population was 1,127 at the 2020 census. A fishing and resort area, South Bristol includes the villages of Walpole and Christmas Cove, the latter on Rutherford Island. The town has six nature preserves.

Bayville is a village in the town of Boothbay Harbor in Lincoln County, Maine, United States. The village of Bayville was formed in 1911. Bayville consists largely of summer residents and has approximately 43 houses at the head of Linekin Bay. The Bayville lineage of several families stretches back some six generations or more. Witch Island is an approximately 18-acre (7.3 ha) wildlife sanctuary off the coast of South Bristol, Maine, United States.Witch Island received its name from Anna Chittenden. She was an actress, lecturer, clairvoyant and palmist. Her stage name was Grace Courtland. She claimed unusual powers to predict the future. So many of her predictions of Wall Street stocks came true that James R. Keene nicknamed her the "Witch of Wall Street." She was well-known in the United States and England in the late 19th century. When the Anna and her husband, Dan, purchased the island in 1886 from the Davis family, they began calling it Witch Island. It had been known as Davis Island from prior owner Captain Samuel H. Davis, but "Witch Island" is now the name of record on maps, in books and journals, and documented in government records.

Sprucewold Lodge is a historic summer tourist accommodation at 4-9 Nahanada Road in Boothbay Harbor, Maine. Its main lodge built in 1927, it was the centerpiece of an extensive rustic retreat on the Spruce Point peninsula southeast of downtown Boothbay Harbor. The lodge is one of the state's finest examples of rustic Adirondack architecture, and was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2014. In 2016, the lodge was listed for sale.

The Johns River is an extension of Johns Bay in Lincoln County, Maine. From Johns Island, it runs 2.5 miles (4 km) north, then splits into its Eastern Branch and North Branch, which run about a mile further north. It forms part of the border between Bristol and South Bristol.

The Thomson Icehouse is a historic ice harvesting facility on Maine State Route 129 in South Bristol, Maine. The site has been used for ice harvesting since 1826, and is now a museum, annually using traditional means to harvest and store ice from adjacent Thompson Pond. The property was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1974. It is believed to be the only active ice harvesting operation in the state.

Squirrel Island is an island in the Gulf of Maine and village within the town of Southport, Maine, United States. It was established as a summer community in 1871. The origin of the name is not related to its squirrel population, since according to island chronicler Charles McLane "[s]quirrels do not inhabit the island (or if they do now, they did not in early times according to local pundits)," but, rather, refers to the shape of the island which, when seen from above, resembles a squirrel holding an acorn.
