ESIGETEL (École supérieure d'ingénieurs en informatique et génie des télécommunications) was founded in 1986 by the Melun Chamber of Commerce. Most students joining ESIGETEL follow the traditional path to the Grandes écoles and come from preparatory classes (two years) and graduate in three years. ESIGETEL is in the vicinity of Villejuif, France and is a member of the Polytechnicum of Marne la Vallée.

The halte de Fontainebleau-Forêt is a railway halt on the Paris–Marseille railway line in the Forest of Fontainebleau, operated by SNCF. The service is limited to a few Transilien trains in the morning of Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays. The station is halfway between Bois-Le-Roi and Fontainebleau – Avon stations, some 4 km away.

Fontainebleau–Avon station (French: Gare de Fontainebleau–Avon) is a railway station in Avon and Fontainebleau, Île-de-France, France. The station is at kilometric point (KP) 58.941 on the Paris–Marseille railway line. The station is served by Transilien (commuter) and TER (regional) services operated by SNCF. The station was once served by the TGV a few years ago. The station is served by Transilien line R (Paris-Gare de Lyon). The station was designed by the architect François-Alexis Cendrier, one of many he worked on for the railroad company Chemins de fer de Paris à Lyon et à la Méditerranée. The station once benefited from a TGV journey to the Mediterranean Sea, with a train leaving for Marseille at 07.30 on a Saturday and returning on the Sunday evening, with a journey time is 4.30 hours. However, this is no longer the case.

Fontainebleau ( FON-tin-bloh, US also -⁠bloo, French: [fɔ̃tɛnblo] ) is a commune in the metropolitan area of Paris, France. It is located 55.5 kilometres (34.5 mi) south-southeast of the centre of Paris. Fontainebleau is a sub-prefecture of the Seine-et-Marne department, and it is the seat of the arrondissement of Fontainebleau. The commune has the largest land area in the Île-de-France region; it is the only one to cover a larger area than Paris itself. The commune is closest to Seine-et-Marne Prefecture, Melun. Fontainebleau, together with the neighbouring commune of Avon and three other smaller communes, form an urban area of 36,724 inhabitants (2018). This urban area is a satellite of Paris. Fontainebleau is renowned for the large and scenic forest of Fontainebleau, a favourite weekend getaway for Parisians, as well as for the historic Château de Fontainebleau, which once belonged to the kings of France. It is also the home of INSEAD, one of the world's most elite business schools. Inhabitants of Fontainebleau are sometimes called Bellifontains.

The Communauté d'agglomération du Pays de Fontainebleau is a communauté d'agglomération in the Seine-et-Marne département and in the Île-de-France région of France. It was formed in January 2017 by the merger of the former Communauté de communes du pays de Fontainebleau, the Communauté de communes entre Seine et Forêt and several communes from other communities. Its area is 437.4 km2. Its population was 68,480 in 2018, of which 15,407 in Fontainebleau proper.

The Synagogue of Fontainebleau is an Orthodox Jewish congregation and synagogue, located in the southeast end of Rue Paul-Séramy, before Place du Bois-d'Hyver and not far from downtown Fontainebleau, in the southwest of Département of Seine-et-Marne, France. The building and its land are adjacent to the gardens of the Palace of Fontainebleau. The modern-day synagogue was completed in 1965, to replace an earlier synagogue, completed in 1857, which was burned down during the Nazi occupation of France in 1941.
