Orlando International Airport (IATA: MCO, ICAO: KMCO, FAA LID: MCO) is a primary international airport that is located 6 miles (9.7 km) southeast of Downtown Orlando, Florida. In 2021, it had 19,618,838 enplanements, making it the busiest airport in the state and seventh busiest airport in the United States. The airport code MCO stands for the airport's former name, McCoy Air Force Base, a Strategic Air Command (SAC) installation, that was closed in 1975 as part of a general military drawdown following the end of the Vietnam War. The airport serves as a hub for Silver Airways, an operating base for Avelo Airlines, JetBlue, Southwest Airlines and Spirit Airlines, as well as a focus city for Frontier Airlines. Southwest is the airport's largest carrier by passengers carried. The airport is also a major international gateway for the mid-Florida region, with over 850 daily flights on 44 airlines. The airport also serves 135 domestic and international destinations. At 11,605 acres (4,696 ha), MCO is one of the largest commercial airports in terms of land area in the United States. In addition, the airport is home to a maintenance base for United Airlines. The airport was also a hub for Delta Air Lines until 2007.

The Orlando International Airport Intermodal Terminal, also known as the Brightline Orlando Station and South Airport Intermodal Terminal, is an intermodal transit complex under construction at the Orlando International Airport in Orlando, Florida. The new station, which is partially being funded by the Florida Department of Transportation, will serve as the Orlando station for the Brightline inter-city rail service, which will connect Orlando International Airport to downtown Miami via the Florida East Coast Railway. The terminal building and the adjacent parking garage opened on November 17, 2017, while work on the train terminal continues. The facility is connected to the main airport terminal roughly 1 mile (1.6 km) to the north via an automated people mover (APM) system.

B-52 Memorial Park is located within the Orlando International Airport just off the Beachline Expressway formerly the Bee Line near runway 18L. It is a small, relatively hidden park under the control of the Greater Orlando Aviation Authority (GOAA) and features a retired B-52D Stratofortress, Air Force Serial Number 56-0687, from the Strategic Air Command. The aircraft was at one time assigned to the 306th Bomb Wing of the now defunct McCoy Air Force Base. The bomber was built in 1956 and retired 28 years later in 1984. Final flight was from its last unit of assignment, the 7th Bomb Wing at Carswell AFB in Fort Worth, Texas, to the former McCoy AFB, now Orlando International Airport, on February 20, 1984. The park is located on Bear Road, accessible from Tradeport Drive just south of Beachline/SR 528 Exit 4, around the corner from where the old Orlando Jetport terminal, the predecessor to the current Orlando International Airport terminal, used to stand. The park is open from 7:00am to sunset, and is free of charge to visit. The park also contains a memorial for the Airport Authority's K-9s adjacent to the B-52.

The Hilton Grand Vacations Tournament of Champions is a women's professional golf tournament on the LPGA Tour in Florida. It debuted in 2019 at the Four Seasons Golf & Sports Club Orlando in Lake Buena Vista, Florida. The tournament field is limited to winners on LPGA Tour events in the previous two years. As is the case in the past, there is also a pro-am and celebrity tournament, like its predecessor. The top amateurs during the midweek pro-am are invited to play in the main tournament. Each professional is paired with two celebrities or amateurs in the groupings, and celebrities change per round. A Stableford-based system is used for the celebrities and amateurs. For 2022, under new corporate ownership of Hilton Grand Vacations and tournament director Aaron Stewart, son of World Golf Hall of Fame member Payne, the event moves to the Lake Nona Golf & Country Club in Orlando. The move to Lake Nona also eliminates an issue that the 18th hole, a par 3, caused at Four Seasons where the 2020 tournament was pushed to an extra day on Monday morning as the single playoff hole (the 18th) failed to produce a winner, and it was the seventh playing of the 18th hole that finally created a winner. The celebrity division continues to be controlled by Mardy Fish and John Smoltz; the two have won three each. In the United States, the final round of the tournament is broadcast on NBC.

The 1993 World Cup of Golf took place November 11–14 at the Lake Nona Golf & Country Club in Orlando, Florida, United States. It was the 39th World Cup. The tournament was a 72-hole stroke play team event with each team consisting of two players from a country. The combined score of each team determined the team results. Individuals also competed for the International Trophy. The winners share of the prize money was $300,000 going to the winning pair and $100,000 to the top individual. The United States team of Fred Couples and Davis Love III won (for the second time in a row with the same players in the team) by five strokes over the Zimbabwe team of Mark McNulty and Nick Price. Bernhard Langer of Germany took the International Trophy by three strokes over Couples.

Lake Nona Golf & Country Club is a private residential golf club community in southeast Orlando, Florida. The 600-acre (2.4 km2) community features an 18-hole championship golf course designed by Tom Fazio. Set amidst freshwater lakes and oak, pine and cypress trees, Lake Nona Golf & Country Club offers a range of residences, including custom-built estate homes.

The inaugural Solheim Cup competition took place in Orlando, Florida, United States at Lake Nona Golf & Country Club from November 16 to November 18, 1990. The United States team beat the European team 111⁄2 points to 41⁄2.

Belle Isle is a city in Orange County, Florida, United States. The population was 7,032 at the 2020 census. It is part of the Orlando–Kissimmee–Sanford Metropolitan Statistical Area.

The University of Central Florida College of Dental Medicine is a planned academic college of the University of Central Florida located in Orlando, Florida, United States. Approved by the UCF Board of Trustees in May 2011, the college still needs to seek approval from the Florida Board of Governors and accreditation from the American Dental Association. The university hopes to open the college by 2020.When completed, the college will include a public dental school and be housed on the UCF Health Sciences Campus in Lake Nona Medical City, a neighborhood of Orlando.

Lake Nona is a 17-square-mile (44 km2, 10,900 acre, 4,400 hectare) mixed-use planned community within the city limits of Orlando, southeast of Orlando International Airport. Being developed by Lake Nona Property Holdings (owned by Tavistock Group), the Lake Nona Region is home to Lake Nona Golf & Country Club. The community is named for a large lake in the northern part. Lake Nona Medical City contains several centers for biomedical research and education including the University of Central Florida College of Medicine and the site of the planned relocation of the College of Nursing, as well as the addition of the University of Central Florida College of Dental Medicine, and the University of Florida College of Pharmacy, which is ranked #5 among all pharmacy schools in the nation. Several other private, governmental, and educational medical centers are located in the area as well. The population of Lake Nona has grown from merely 1,500 in 2000 to over 50,000 people in 2015. Some of the population growth is attributable to immigration from Puerto Rico during the Puerto Rican crisis of 2015.
