The University of Central Florida College of Dental Medicine is a planned academic college of the University of Central Florida located in Orlando, Florida, United States. Approved by the UCF Board of Trustees in May 2011, the college still needs to seek approval from the Florida Board of Governors and accreditation from the American Dental Association. The university hopes to open the college by 2020.When completed, the college will include a public dental school and be housed on the UCF Health Sciences Campus in Lake Nona Medical City, a neighborhood of Orlando.

Nemours Children's Hospital, Florida (NCH) is a freestanding, 130-bed, pediatric acute care children's hospital located in Lake Nona Medical City outside of Orlando, Florida. It is affiliated with the University of Central Florida College of Medicine and is a member of the Nemours Children's Health, one of two freestanding hospitals in the system. The hospital, a multi-year recipient of The Leapfrog Award for quality and safety, provides comprehensive pediatric specialties and subspecialties to infants, children, teens, and young adults aged 0–21 throughout Central Florida and beyond. It features a regional pediatric intensive-care unit and neonatal intensive care units serving both central Florida and the greater Florida regions. The hospital also has a helipad and transport vehicles to transport critically ill patients to and from the hospital. In addition, Nemours Children’s Hospital, Florida features its own Nemours Children’s Hospital Residency Program (established in 2017) and, in partnership with the University of Central Florida’s College of Education started PedsAcademy, the first hospital-based inpatient education and teacher training program.

Lake Nona High School is a public high school in Orlando, Florida, United States. It was a relief school for Odyssey Middle School, Cypress Creek High School, and Oak Ridge High. Lake Nona High School stands as one of the more challenging schools in Orange County due to its rigorous academic workload, significantly high AP Enrollment and its open dual enrollment program through Valencia College. In addition to the school's collegiate focus, students have the ability to attend a fast track nursing program, Health Science Academy starting their freshmen year. The School rating has repeatedly received a high 'A' since 2012. Lake Nona also tops most schools in the district with its high graduation rate of 97.7%.

The course has a par of 73 and measures 7,198 yards (6,582 m), containing five par-5 holes and over ninety bunkers. The course is public and includes a 14,000-square-foot (1,300 m2) clubhouse with a pro shop as well as a 120-seat restaurant.

The 1993 World Cup of Golf took place November 11–14 at the Lake Nona Golf & Country Club in Orlando, Florida, United States. It was the 39th World Cup. The tournament was a 72-hole stroke play team event with each team consisting of two players from a country. The combined score of each team determined the team results. Individuals also competed for the International Trophy. The winners share of the prize money was $300,000 going to the winning pair and $100,000 to the top individual. The United States team of Fred Couples and Davis Love III won (for the second time in a row with the same players in the team) by five strokes over the Zimbabwe team of Mark McNulty and Nick Price. Bernhard Langer of Germany took the International Trophy by three strokes over Couples.

Lake Nona Golf & Country Club is a private residential golf club community in southeast Orlando, Florida. The Hilton Grand Vacations Tournament of Champions is a women's professional golf tournament on the LPGA Tour in Florida. It debuted in 2019 at the Four Seasons Golf & Sports Club Orlando in Lake Buena Vista, Florida. The tournament field is limited to winners on LPGA Tour events in the previous two years. As is the case in the past, there is also a pro-am and celebrity tournament, like its predecessor. The top amateurs during the midweek pro-am are invited to play in the main tournament. Each professional is paired with two celebrities or amateurs in the groupings, and celebrities change per round. A Stableford-based system is used for the celebrities and amateurs. For 2022, under new corporate ownership of Hilton Grand Vacations and tournament director Aaron Stewart, son of World Golf Hall of Fame member Payne, the event moves to the Lake Nona Golf & Country Club in Orlando. The move to Lake Nona also eliminates an issue that the 18th hole, a par 3, caused at Four Seasons where the 2020 tournament was pushed to an extra day on Monday morning as the single playoff hole (the 18th) failed to produce a winner, and it was the seventh playing of the 18th hole that finally created a winner. The celebrity division continues to be controlled by Mardy Fish and John Smoltz; the two have won three each. In the United States, the final round of the tournament is broadcast on NBC.
