Lorain County Speedway is an auto racing track located in Amherst Township, Lorain County, near South Amherst, Ohio, USA opened in 1949 as a 1/3 mile dirt oval. It was paved between the 1960 and 1961 racing seasons. It is currently a 3/8-mile asphalt oval, with 12 degree banking in both turns, and slight banking on the straightaways.

The New Indian Ridge Museum, Historic Shupe Homestead, and Wildlife Preserve is a private museum and nature reserve located on Beaver Creek in Amherst, Ohio, consisting of the Shupe Homestead site. The grounds contain two additional lots of upland and lowland mature wooded forest that contain wetlands, vernal pools, and an area floodplain. The property contains numerous tree and wildflower species, several fern types, buttonbushes, pawpaw trees, native green dragon wildflowers, and about fifty different species of birds. The museum's collection is diverse, with artifacts dating from prehistory to recent decades. Many of the artifacts came from the former Indian Ridge Museum of Elyria Ohio, founded by Col. Raymond C. Vietzen. Matt Nahorn founded the current museum in 2000, but it is not currently open to the public.

Ridge Hill Memorial Park is a 100-acre (0.40 km2) cemetery (60 of which are developed) located in Lorain County, Ohio. It was founded in 1929 by Charles Yeager. Ridge Hill is welcoming to all faiths and is non-sectarian. Ridge Hill Memorial Park is known as the best maintained and most desirable cemetery in Lorain County, Ohio. It is a private, non-profit, perpetual-care cemetery. The current leadership consists of President Mike Ireland and Operations Manager Gavin Baker.

Little Beaver Creek is a tributary of Beaver Creek (a.k.a. "Big Beaver Creek") in Lorain County, Ohio. Little Beaver Creek begins north of the Lorain County Regional Airport and runs northerly until the Little Beaver joins with the Big Beaver in the present city-limits of Lorain, Ohio. (There is a smaller tributary of the Little Beaver which begins near the bygone village of "Whiskeyville".)

Lorain County Regional Airport (IATA: LPR, ICAO: KLPR, FAA LID: LPR) is a public airport in Lorain County, Ohio, owned by the Lorain County Board of Commissioners and located in New Russia Township. The airport is about 7 miles south of Lorain and 5 miles southwest of Elyria. The National Plan of Integrated Airport Systems for 2011–2015 categorized it as a general aviation reliever airport.The airport holds a regular Discover Aviation Day. The event features aircraft such as the Ford Tri-Motor, a World War II-era B-25 bomber, gliders, and more.The airport is home to a chapter of the Experimental Aircraft Association.

Clearview Local School District was formed on and serves students from Sheffield Township, Ohio and part of Lorain, Ohio. Clearview has three school buildings. Vincent Elementary houses K-4 and was built in the 1912, Durling Middle School houses 5-8 and was built in 1952 and Clearview High School houses 9-12 and was built in 1923. In 2004 all three buildings were greatly renovated and expanded, thanks to the Ohio School Facilities Commission 23 million dollars. At Vincent and Clearview all the older sections were demolished and made way for new classrooms.

Clearview High School (CHS) is a public high school located in Lorain, Ohio, United States. It is part of the Clearview Local School District, one of five school districts serving the city of Lorain and all of Sheffield Township, Ohio. Clearview High School houses students in grades 9-12. It was formerly named Clearview Junior-Senior High School and housed students in grades 7-12. After a remodeling project across the district in the early 2000s, grades 7 and 8 moved to Durling Middle School, just northwest of the high school. Of the five school districts that are wholly or partially within the city of Lorain, Clearview serves the second largest population of Lorain students, with Lorain High School being the largest. The other local school districts are Amherst, Firelands, Vermilion and Eyria. At one time Lorain City Schools wanted the Clearview students that lived in the Lorain city part of the Clearview Local School District.The school colors are blue and gold. The sports teams are known as the Clippers. The school's fight song, instrumentally, is the fight song from Washington State University.
