Lorain County Speedway is an auto racing track located in Amherst Township, Lorain County, near South Amherst, Ohio, USA opened in 1949 as a 1/3 mile dirt oval. It was paved between the 1960 and 1961 racing seasons. It is currently a 3/8-mile asphalt oval, with 12 degree banking in both turns, and slight banking on the straightaways.

Savage Stadium was a 3,000-seat outdoor, grass-field football stadium, part of a football complex including the adjacent Dill Field, on the campus of Oberlin College, in Oberlin, Ohio. The stadium hosted primarily Oberlin's varsity football home games. It was formerly the site of Oberlin's home soccer and lacrosse matches as well as track and field meets and includes a seven-lane all-weather running track. However, since the completion of the Fred Shults Soccer Field and Robert Kahn Track in the Fall of 2006, the stadium has been used primarily for football.

Firelands High School absorbed South Amherst High School and its school district during the summer of 1988.The school is located in Henrietta Township (at 10643 Vermilion Road) and serves the townships of Brownhelm, Camden, Florence (in Erie County), Henrietta, New Russia, and the village of South Amherst.The school's official colors are red and white, and their teams' nickname is "Falcons." School colors often include black, but it is not an official school color. The school is a member of the Stars division of the Lorain County League as of the 2019–2020 school year. Their primary rival is the Vermilion High School Sailors.

The Reamer Barn is a historic barn near the village of Oberlin in the northeastern part of the U.S. state of Ohio. Constructed at the end of the nineteenth century, it was built to house a gentleman farmer's cattle herd, and it has been named a historic site because of its distinctive architecture.

The New Indian Ridge Museum, Historic Shupe Homestead, and Wildlife Preserve is a private museum and nature reserve located on Beaver Creek in Amherst, Ohio, consisting of the Shupe Homestead site. The grounds contain two additional lots of upland and lowland mature wooded forest that contain wetlands, vernal pools, and an area floodplain. The property contains numerous tree and wildflower species, several fern types, buttonbushes, pawpaw trees, native green dragon wildflowers, and about fifty different species of birds. The museum's collection is diverse, with artifacts dating from prehistory to recent decades. Many of the artifacts came from the former Indian Ridge Museum of Elyria Ohio, founded by Col. Raymond C. Vietzen. Matt Nahorn founded the current museum in 2000, but it is not currently open to the public.
