Beth Rivkah Ladies College

Ohel Chana is an Orthodox Jewish seminary for women located in Melbourne, Australia. It is part of the Chabad Lubavitch hasidic movement. The center is managed by Rebbetzin Rivkah Groner. The seminary is named after Chana Schneerson, the mother of the last Rebbe of Chabad Lubavitch, Menachem Mendel Schneerson. The center was founded in 1971.

Yeshivah College, officially Yeshivas Oholei Yosef Yitzchok Lubavitch (Hebrew: ישיבה אהלי יוסף יצחק ליובאוויטש), is an independent Orthodox Jewish comprehensive single-sex primary and secondary Jewish day school for boys, located in the Melbourne suburb of St Kilda East, in Victoria, Australia. The school is run by the Chabad-Lubavitch movement's Yeshivah Centre, and caters for students from kindergarten through to Year 12.

St James the Great, St Kilda East, is an Anglican parish church in the Melbourne suburb of City of Glen Eira in Victoria, Australia. Located in Inkerman Street, St Kilda East, since its establishment in 1914, the parish is in the Anglican Diocese of Melbourne and is the smallest parish in terms of geographical area. From its beginnings in the chapel of St John's Theological College the church has been observantly Anglo-Catholic in its traditions of liturgy and teaching. Since the 1940s the municipality has gradually become the heart of Melbourne's Haredi Jewish community. The parish was founded in 1914, the church building commenced in early 1915 with the first regular Sunday service in the completed church on 27 June 1915.

Caulfield Grammar School is an independent, co-educational, Anglican, International Baccalaureate, day and boarding school, located in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia. Founded in 1881 as a boys' school, Caulfield Grammar began admitting girls exactly one hundred years later. The school amalgamated with Malvern Memorial Grammar School (MMGS) in 1961, with the MMGS campus becoming Malvern Campus. Caulfield Grammar has three-day campuses in Victoria, Caulfield (Years 7–12), Wheelers Hill (Kindergarten–Year 12), and Malvern House (Kindergarten–Year 6). It has an outdoor education campus at Yarra Junction, and a student centre in Nanjing, China where the Year 9 internationalism programme is conducted. Caulfield Grammar is the only Melbourne-based APS school to provide boarding for both boys and girls, with 95 boarding students, and is the second largest school in Victoria, currently catering for 3,315 students.

Balaclava railway station is located on the Sandringham line in Victoria, Australia. It serves the south-eastern Melbourne suburb of Balaclava, and opened on 19 December 1859.Balaclava is an elevated station, and is located above the Carlisle Street rail overpass.

On 6 December 2024, at approximately 4:10 am local time, an arson terrorist attack took place at the Adass Israel Synagogue of Melbourne in Ripponlea, a suburb of Melbourne, Australia. The resulting fire injured one member of the synagogue and caused significant damage to the building. Investigation of the attack was assigned to the Australian Federal Police's counter-terrorism unit. On 9 December 2024, Victoria Police stated the incident was being treated as a terrorist attack. The perpetrators of the attack reportedly used an accelerant and followed by spreading that throughout the interior of the building with a broom before lighting the accelerant fluid. And police commenced searching for the perpetrators of the attack.

Attica is a fine-dining restaurant in Melbourne, Australia, owned and operated by Ben Shewry. It has won several awards in Australia, and has been included in The World's 50 Best Restaurants since 2010. Its current position on the list places it as the top restaurant in Australia. The restaurant was opened by Dr David Maccora (an emergency doctor at Malvern's Cabrini Hospital) and his wife Helen, in a converted suburban bank building. After two chefs failed to attract sufficient patronage at the restaurant the Maccoras employed Ben Shewry (formerly at St Kilda's Circa) in 2005, giving him full creative control of the menu. In January 2015 the Maccoras sold the restaurant to Shewry.

St Kilda East is a suburb of Melbourne, Victoria, Australia, 6 km south-east from Melbourne's Central Business District. It is located within the local government areas of the City of Glen Eira and the City of Port Phillip. At the 2011 Census, St Kilda East had a population of 12,576. St Kilda East is one of the more diverse and densely populated suburbs of Melbourne. It has a prominent Hasidic Jewish community, descended from Polish and Russian immigrants. Quiet and residential, it is quite different from the adjacent suburb of St Kilda. However, the area around Carlisle Street is very diverse with a strong arts, alternative and indie community.

Balaclava is an inner suburb in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia, 7 km south-east of Melbourne's Central Business District, located within the City of Port Phillip local government area. Balaclava recorded a population of 5,392 at the 2021 census.Balaclava is located in the south-east of the city, in the St Kilda East area and is bounded by Inkerman Street to the north, Chapel Street to the west, Hotham Street to the east and Oak Grove and Los Angeles Court to the south. In terms of its cadastral division, Balaclava is in the parish of Prahran, within the County of Bourke The suburb was named after the Battle of Balaclava that took place on 25 October 1854, during the Crimean War. Well known television celebrity Graham Kennedy spent part of his childhood in the Balaclava area. After his death, the local council placed a commemorative plaque on the house in which he lived. Balaclava is home to much of Melbourne's Orthodox Jewish Community, consisting of both Hasidim and non-Hasidim (Mitnagdim or Yeshivish) Jews. Within its confines are a number of kosher restaurants and shops that cater to the local and broader Melbourne Haredi communities.
