E. E. Waddell Language Academy, formerly known as Smith Academy of International Languages, is a public K-8 magnet school (elementary and middle language immersion school combined) in Charlotte, North Carolina, United States. It is part of the Charlotte-Mecklenburg School (CMS) District. All tuition takes place in the medium of the second language. The school offers language immersion in Chinese, German, French, and Japanese for kindergarten through 8th grade. Beginning Spanish is offered in middle school.The school educates 1,311 students in grades K-8. In the 2012-13 school year, 891 students were enrolled in the elementary program (K-5) and 420 in the middle school (6-8).

Huntingtowne Farms Park is a 23-acre urban park at 2200 Huntingtowne Farms Lane lying between the Huntingtowne Farms and Starmount Forest neighborhoods of Charlotte, North Carolina. A bridge across Sugar Creek connects the park to the Starmount Forest neighborhood.A section of the Little Sugar Creek Greenway runs through the park and serves to connect its features which include a picnic shelter, a playground, a basketball court, a multi-purpose sports field, and 2 tennis courts. A top priority of the Mecklenburg County Park and Recreation trail development plan is to connect this currently independent section to the rest of the Little Sugar Creek Greenway.

E. E. Waddell High School was a high school located in Charlotte, North Carolina. It was closed at the end of the 2010–2011 school year. The facility that housed the former high school is now used by E. E. Waddell Language Academy, a public K–8 language immersion magnet school

WBT (1110 kHz) is a commercial AM radio station serving the Charlotte metropolitan area, including parts of North Carolina and South Carolina. The station airs a news/talk radio format simulcast on Chester, South Carolina-licensed WBT-FM (99.3) and the HD2 digital subchannel of co-owned WLNK. First licensed on March 18, 1922, it is one of America's first radio stations. WBT is owned by Urban One, with studios and offices located off West Morehead Street, just west of Uptown Charlotte, co-located with the city's CBS television affiliate, WBTV, currently owned by Gray Television but at one time co-owned with WBT Radio. WBT broadcasts 50,000 watts around the clock as the only Class A clear-channel station in the Carolinas. Its transmitter site is a three-tower facility in south Charlotte, off Nations Ford Road. During daylight hours it uses a single non-directional antenna and is audible in much of the central Carolinas. At night, all three towers are used in a directional pattern that limits its signal toward the west, to avoid interfering with KFAB in Omaha, Nebraska, the other Class A station on the frequency. Even with this restriction, it can be heard across much of the eastern half of North America with a good radio. For many years, WBT boasted that it could be heard "from Maine to Miami" at night.

Park Road Park is a 122-acre urban park at 6220 Park Road in the Closeburn-Glenkirk neighborhood of Charlotte, North Carolina. Park Road Park features 8 basketball courts, 2 horseshoe pits, 6 baseball fields, 5 Picnic Shelters, volleyball courts, playgrounds, trails, tennis courts, and an eleven-acre lake. The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Parks & Recreation Department operates 36 tennis facilities and the 12 lighted tennis courts at Park Road Park are among the best in Charlotte.The Queens University of Charlotte softball team holds all of their home games at the park. An annual children's Fall Fun Fest presented by the Charlotte Speech and Hearing Center is held each year in Park Road Park. There is a recycling drop off center at 5300 Closeburn Road inside the park.

Pfeiffer University at Charlotte, in Charlotte, North Carolina, is one of three campuses of Pfeiffer University, where the university's School of Graduate Studies and Center for Professional Advancement are located. The university also has an undergraduate campus in Misenheimer and another graduate campus in the Triangle, in Morrisville. In October 2015, Pfeiffer announced plans to sell the 5-acre Park Road campus. Spartanburg, South Carolina-based Johnson Development planned a six-story apartment building with retail space on the ground floor.The grand opening of the new Pfeiffer campus took place October 18, 2017. The university now occupies 26,440 square feet on the three floors in the Montford Park building (previously called the Park Seneca building) on Mockingbird Lane.
