Lakewood School District (Washington)

Lakewood High School (commonly known as Lakewood or LHS) is a public secondary school in what was Arlington, but annexed to become an addition of Marysville, Washington, serving students in grades 9–12. The school is the only secondary school in the Lakewood School District, serving the Lake Goodwin, North Lakewood, and Smokey Point areas. The original high school was built in 1983 and expanded in later years to accommodate a growing school population. A $66.8 million bond measure was passed in April 2014 to design and build a new high school on the same campus, with a capacity of 825 students. Construction began in May 2016. The new two-story, 160,000 square feet (15,000 m2) building opened in September 2017 while demolition of the old building was still in progress.

Smokey Point is a community and former census-designated place in northern Snohomish County, Washington. The area, developed as a suburban bedroom community in the late 20th century, was annexed into the nearby cities of Arlington and Marysville in the 1990s and 2000s.

Quil Ceda Village (Lushootseed: qʷəl'sidəʔ ʔalʔaltəd) is a municipality established by the federally recognized Tulalip Tribes of Washington within the Tulalip Indian Reservation in Snohomish County. It includes the Quil Ceda Village Business Park, a commercial development constructed and operated by the tribe. The tribe developed the 495-acre (200.32 hectare) village and related business park to further its goal to diversify its economy with funds generated by its successful casino operations, the first enterprise in the business park. The Business Park contains the Tulalip Resort Casino, big box stores Walmart and The Home Depot, Seattle Premium Outlets (a 500,000-square foot (46,452-square meter), 125-tenant open-air mall opened in 2005), Cabela's, and several restaurants, such as Olive Garden and the Ram Brewery.The land was originally home to a testing site that was leased by the United States Department of Defense for ammunition storage in the 1940s and 1950s and later Boeing for jet engine testing until 2000. The retail section began with Walmart and The Home Depot stores in 2001.

Tulalip Resort Casino is an Indian casino and resort in Quil Ceda Village, Washington, owned and operated by the Tulalip Tribes of Washington. It opened in 2003 as the Tulalip Casino and features 227,000 square feet (21,100 m2) of total space and a parking lot with 5,740 stalls. The resort includes 192,000 square feet (17,800 m2) of gaming space, seven restaurants, a spa, and meeting rooms. The outdoor Tulalip Amphitheatre is used for entertainment events.Construction on the casino began in July 2001 and cost $78 million. The casino opened in June 2003. It replaced an earlier casino that opened in July 1992 and was later renamed to Quil Ceda Creek Casino after a renovation in 2004. A 12-story hotel with 370 rooms was opened on August 15, 2008, shortly after the casino was renamed to the Tulalip Resort Casino; it one of the tallest buildings in Snohomish County. The hotel was renovated in 2015 and was awarded AAA Three Diamond status. The resort is planned to be expanded between 2023 and 2025.

Angel of the Winds Casino Resort is a casino and hotel operated by the Stillaguamish Tribe of Indians near Arlington, Washington, United States. The casino opened in 2004 east of Interstate 5 and was initially in a modular building until an expansion in 2008. A 125-room hotel opened at the site in 2015 alongside additional gaming space.

Lake Goodwin is a lake in Snohomish County, Washington, United States. The surrounding census district of Lake Goodwin, Washington is named after the lake. The lake is the largest and by far the most popular of the Seven Lakes area northwest of Marysville, Washington. Wenberg County Park is the main public access to the lake. In 1996, Snohomish County bought a formerly privately owned resort on the north tip of the lake, and is working on developing it into a park.

The Stillaguamish Tribe of Indians, formerly known as the Stillaguamish Tribe of Washington, is a federally recognized tribe of Stillaguamish people. They are a tribe of Southern Coast Salish indigenous people of the Pacific Northwest located in Washington.Other Stillaguamish people are enrolled in the Tulalip Tribes.

Arlington is a city in northern Snohomish County, Washington, United States, part of the Seattle metropolitan area. The city lies on the Stillaguamish River in the western foothills of the Cascade Range, adjacent to the city of Marysville. It is approximately 10 miles (16 km) north of Everett, the county seat, and 40 miles (64 km) north of Seattle, the state's largest city. As of the 2020 U.S. census, Arlington had a population of 19,868; its estimated population is 20,075 as of 2021. The city lies in the traditional territory of the Stillaguamish people, an indigenous Coast Salish group. Arlington was established in the 1880s by settlers and the area was platted as two towns, Arlington and Haller City. Haller City was absorbed by the larger Arlington, which was incorporated as a city in 1903. During the Great Depression of the 1930s, the Arlington area was the site of major projects undertaken for employment under the direction of federal relief agencies, including construction of a municipal airport that would serve as a naval air station during World War II. Arlington began suburbanizing in the 1980s, growing by more than 450 percent by 2000 and annexing the unincorporated area of Smokey Point to the southwest. The economy of the Arlington area historically relied on timber and agriculture. In the early 21st century, it has transitioned to a service economy, with some aviation industry jobs near the municipal airport. The city is governed by a mayor–council government, electing a mayor and seven city councilmembers. The municipal government maintains the city's parks system and water and wastewater utilities. Other services, including public utilities, public transportation, and schools, are contracted to regional or county-level agencies and companies.
