Kuben Upper Secondary School (Norwegian: Kuben videregående skole) is an upper secondary school at Økern in Oslo, Norway. The school is part of Kuben Vocational Arena, and is Oslo's largest Upper secondary school, with approximately 1,850 students. Kuben shares the arena with Oslo Technical School.The school's first principal is Kjell Ove Hauge, a former All-American and international track and field athlete.

Vollebekk is a station on Grorud Line (line 5) of the Oslo Metro. It is located between the stations of Risløkka and Linderud and is 7.1 kilometers (4.4 mi) from Stortinget. The station is among the original ones on Grorudbanen, and opened on 10 October 1966. Peer Qvaam was the station's architect.The local road Lunden passes under the station immediately north of the station. There is no major bus connection, although there is a bus stop on the Østre Aker Vei highway to the south. The railway station Alna is also nearby and there are plans to connect the two stations by means of a pedestrian and bicycle path in 2009.

Østre Aker Church is a parish church at the neighborhood of Ulven in northeastern part of Oslo, Norway. The church building from 1860 in neo-Gothic style has exterior walls of brick, while the interior walls are covered with wood. The master masonry brothers Carl, Ferdinand and Albert Unger was commissioned to make the church the most alike Vestre Aker Church as possible. Østre Aker Church was consecrated 5 September 1860 with, among others, Prince Oscar present. Electricity was installed in 1925 and the church got chandeliers in 1928. Architect Helge Thiis was at the same time commissioned to make changes to improve the church interior.The church is in a picturesque landscape and surrounded by many large trees on a green cemetery. In front of the church's main entrance is the sculpture "Hvilende kvinne" ("Reclining woman"), made by sculptor Maria Vigeland from 1970.Inside the church are eight monolith columns, carved in whole pieces of local grefsensyenitt. The church has a rose window promoting the church, designed by Frøydis Haavardsholm and created by art glazier G. A. Larsen. It shows blessing by Jesus of small children. The baptismal font in sandstone is from 1860. The altarpiece in wood from 1928 is created by woodcarver Thorleif Sohlberg. The pulpit is located to the left of the chancel. The origin of the 46-voice church organ from the second half of the nineteenth century is disputed.Østre Aker Church is listed 85915 by the Norwegian Directorate for Cultural Heritage.

Bjerke is a borough of the city of Oslo, Norway. The most densely populated residential areas, including the high-rise apartment blocks of Linderud, are located along Trondheimsveien (Norwegian National Road 4). The shopping centre at Linderud is also home to the borough council's administrative headquarters. The northern areas of the borough are bordered by the vast woodlands of Oslomarka. Bjerke Upper Secondary School is located here.

Alna Station (Norwegian: Alna holdeplass) is a railway station on the Trunk Line located at Alnabru in the Alna borough of Oslo, Norway. Situated 6.87 kilometers (4.27 mi) from Oslo Central Station, it consists of an island platform along a double tracked line. Alna is served by the L1 line of the Oslo Commuter Rail. The station was opened on 7 June 1971, replacing Alnabru Station. The former was dismantled to make room for Alnabru Freight Terminal. The station serves mostly an industrial area.

Bjerke Travbane (English: Bjerke Race Track) is a harness racing track located in the Bjerkebanen neighborhood of the Bjerke borough in Oslo, Norway. The course is 1,000 meters (3,300 ft). Owned by Norwegian Trotting Association, its tote betting is handled by Norsk Rikstoto. The venue opened in 1928 and is the busiest harness racetrack in Norway, with 115 racedays in 2012.

Alnabru Station (Norwegian: Alnabru stasjon) was a railway station on the Trunk Line located in the Alnabru neighborhood of Oslo, Norway. Situated 6.50 kilometers (4.04 mi) from Oslo Central Station, it was built primarily as a cargo handling station, although it also served passengers. The station building was designed by Finn Ivar Andreas Knudsen. The station opened on 20 January 1902 at the same time as the Trunk Line received double track. It was named Alna until 1 May. The Alna Line was built as a branch of the Gjøvik Line, allowing cargo trains to run to Alnabru. The Loenga–Alnabru Line opened in 1907, connecting the Østfold Line to Alnabru. The station remained in service until 14 June 1971. It was thereafter demolished to make room for Alnabru Freight Terminal. The Trunk Line was moved around the terminal and Alna Station opened on it to serve commuter trains.

Linderud is a neighborhood in Bjerke borough, Oslo, Norway. The area originally formed part of the estate of Linderud Manor.

Tonsenhagen is a neighborhood in the borough of Bjerke in northeast Oslo, Norway. Built in the 1950s, it was one of the early new suburbs within Oslo. The neighborhood is situated on a hillside overlooking Oslo and the Grorud Valley, surrounded by forest and near the ski resort of Grefsenkollen. There is a local school, for which the first headmaster was Rolf Ridar, and the Norwegian children's play and book writer Ingebrigt Davik was once a teacher there.

The Alna Line (Norwegian: Alnabanen) is a 4.3-kilometer (2.7 mi) railway line between Alnabru and Grefsen in Oslo, Norway. The single track line allows direct access between the Trunk Line and the Gjøvik Line, without having to pass via Oslo Central Station. The line is electrified and is owned by the Norwegian National Rail Administration. It is exclusively used by freight trains, and allows trains on the Bergen Line to reach Alnabru Freight Terminal. The line was built along with the Gjøvik Line and was opened on 20 January 1901. The line saw some passenger traffic until the Gjøvik Line was completed to Oslo East Station in 1902. From 1909 the Alna Line has been used for freight trains from Bergen, and the line was electrified in 1961. There have been proposals to make the line part of a diagonal line as part of the Oslo Commuter Rail.

Bjerke Upper Secondary School (Norwegian: Bjerke videregående skole) is a high school based in Groruddalen in Oslo, Norway. It offers general academics and elite sports. In 2000 the school changed its name from Linderud Upper Secondary School to Bjerke. The school was notable for having introduced, in 2011, a system of segregating ethnic and white students to discourage Norwegian students from transferring to other schools.

Teisen is a neighborhood in the borough of Alna in Oslo, Norway. It was a residential area in the 19th century, but from the 1950s it was built up with apartment blocks.
