Nicholson Road railway station is an under construction station on the Thornlie–Cockburn Link in Perth, Western Australia as part of Metronet. The station will include a bus interchange with 7 stands and 1,000 car parking spaces. The station will be at-grade, with pedestrian and bicycle access from a new shared path along Canna Drive or via the Nicholson Road underpass, and vehicle and bus access from Tulloch Way and Panama Street. Approximately 2,350 daily boardings are predicted at Nicholson Road railway station in 2031. Services to Perth and Cockburn Central will be provided by Transperth Trains, with the journey to Perth to take approximately 26 minutes. It is 28 minutes to Perth via the Mandurah line.

Al-Ameen College (formerly known as Langford Islamic College) is an independent Islamic co-educational primary and secondary day school, located in Langford, a southern suburb of Perth, Western Australia. The school opened in 2004 and as of 2022 has 1,100 students.Following a 2015 Australian Government audit of funding for Islamic schools, Al-Ameen College retained $4.9 million in government funding after changes were made to its governance structure.In 2021, the college changed its name to Al-Ameen College in preparation of opening a future campus outside of Langford.

Langford is a suburb of Perth, Western Australia, located within the City of Gosnells. Its postcode is 6147. Langford was named after a Mr Langford, a long-serving local councillor of the Shire of Gosnells. The shire submitted the name in September 1966, having chosen it alongside the State Housing Commission; the name was approved in January 1967. It is a working-class residential suburb located approximately 11 km (7 mi) from Perth's central business district. Recently the suburb has been upgraded and redeveloped, especially since it now links to a major highway. The suburb has had its share of social problems having originally had a large proportion of state run housing, much of which has now been renovated and sold to private owners. Langford offers facilities such as several primary schools, several churches, a sporting complex and shopping centre including a delicatessen, pub and chemist.

Thornlie is a large residential suburb of Perth, the capital city of Western Australia, located 15 kilometres (9.3 mi) south-east of the city's central business district. It is a part of the City of Gosnells local government area. The Canning River runs through the northern side of the suburb. Thornlie Senior High School is an independent public co-educational high day school in the City of Gosnells, located off Ovens Road in the Perth suburb of Thornlie, Western Australia. The school was established in 1971 and caters for students from Years 7 to Year 12. It is located in the Canning educational district and has had enrolments as high as 1200 students.The school caters for students in years 7 to 12. The school offers a specialist Rugby program. As well as preparing students for university—the school includes a comprehensive vocational education and training pathway for students in years 11 and 12. In 2013, Prime Minister Julia Gillard held Community Cabinet at the high school. The event was booked out, and a small group of animal rights activists held a peaceful protest outside the event.Enrolments at the school have been relatively stable with around 1100 students. However—between 2009–2013—student numbers dropped below 1000 due to changes in enrolment ages.

The Perth Shiva Temple (Tamil: பெர்த் சிவன் கோவில்), officially Perth Hindu Temple, is a Hindu temple in Canning Vale, in Perth, Western Australia, dedicated to the god Shiva and his consort goddess Meenakshi. The temple is run by the Shri Shiva Devasthanam, a non-profit religious organisation, and was completed in early 1990. It is the oldest Hindu temple in Western Australia.

Cannington is an electoral district of the Legislative Assembly in the Australian state of Western Australia. The district is based in the inner southern suburbs of Perth. Cannington is a safe Labor seat. Based on the results of the 2005 state election, the district was created with a Labor Party majority of 63.3% to 36.7% versus the Liberal Party.
