Covington is a city in King County, Washington, United States. The population was 20,777 at the time of the 2020 census. Prior to the 2010 census, Covington was counted as part of Covington-Sawyer-Wilderness CDP.

Lake Meridian is a fresh-water lake located in the city of Kent, Washington. One among the few lakes in King County allowing motorized boating, Lake Meridian is an urban lake, surrounded by homes and located just off the Kent-Kangley Road on Kent's East Hill. Fed primarily by springs at the west end of the lake, Lake Meridian empties at the east end of the lake into a small stream that eventually connects to the Little Soos Creek, which in turn eventually feeds into the larger Green River via a number of other streams and eventually ends up in Elliott Bay. Lake Meridian is a recreation area offering fishing, boating, canoeing and a variety of water sports. Patrolled in the summer months by the Kent Police Department boat cruisers, Lake Meridian is part of the City of Kent's Lake Meridian Park, which is visited by thousands each Summer season.Lake Meridian features a large covered shelter, a playfield, restrooms, swimming beach, fishing, and boat launch. The park capacity is 120 people.

Tahoma National Cemetery is a United States National Cemetery in unincorporated King County, Washington. It encompasses 158.3 acres (64.1 ha), and as of the end of 2019, had over 60,000 interments, compared to the end of 2008 with 23,479 interments, and 15,924 interments in 2005. Administered by the United States Department of Veterans Affairs, it was the only national cemetery in the state of Washington until 2020, when the Vancouver Barracks National Cemetery was established.

Norm Grier Field (Formerly Crest Airpark) (FAA LID: S36) is a public airport located five miles (8 km) southeast of the central business district of Kent, a city in King County, Washington, United States. It was privately owned by Norm Grier until his death. It was renamed Norm Grier Field after his death. The airport is on a hill and surrounded by trees. Private residences also surround the airport. Many are able to hangar an aircraft that can be taxied to the runway.

The Safeco Classic (often styled as the SAFECO Classic) was a women's professional golf tournament on the LPGA Tour in the Seattle area, sponsored by Safeco Insurance. It was played 18 times, from 1982 to 1999, at Meridian Valley Country Club in Kent, Washington, usually in mid-September, the week following the Safeway Classic in Portland.With the opening of the Seattle Mariners' Safeco Field in Seattle in July 1999, Safeco entered a 20-year, $40 million agreement for the naming rights of the new major league baseball stadium. Safeco ended its sponsorship of the LPGA event in October 1999 and a new sponsor did not emerge.Multiple winners of the 72-hole event were Patty Sheehan (1982, 1990, 1995), Juli Inkster (1983, 1988), and Karrie Webb (1995, 1996).

Lake Youngs is a reservoir in King County, Washington. It is located between Maple Valley and Renton along the route of pipelines carrying water from the Cedar River to Seattle, and is accessible only to Seattle Public Utilities staff and authorized visitors.Originally the site of 548 acres (222 ha) Swan Lake, construction of the Lake Youngs reservoir began in earnest in the early 1920s and was completed by 1926. Lake Youngs has a surface area of 700 acres (2.8 km2) and a maximum depth of 72 feet (22 m). It was named for longtime Seattle Water Department head L. B. Youngs, who died in 1923. Lake Youngs is used as a visual checkpoint for pilots flying into and out of Renton Municipal Airport. Lake Youngs is drained by Little Soos Creek.

The CDP was disbanded in 2000 United States Census, with portions incorporated into Covington, Black Diamond, and Maple Valley. The remainder was reassigned to Lake Morton-Berrydale CDP. The population in 1990 was 24,321 . The census area, located in the southern end of the county, was located at 47.352810 north, 122.073107 west.
