Fall Creek Stone Arch Bridge

Fall Creek is an unincorporated community and census-designated place in Fall Creek Township, Adams County, Illinois, United States. Fall Creek is located along Interstate 172 southwest of Payson. Fall Creek takes its name from a nearby creek of the same name, which was named for a waterfall along its course. A post office called Falls Creek was established in 1861, and closed in 1866. The post office was reestablished in 1872, the name was changed to Fallcreek in 1894, and the post office was discontinued in 1909.

Munger is an unincorporated community in Pike County, Illinois, United States. The location is adjacent to the Pike-Adams county line on the Mississippi floodplain two miles east of the Mississippi River and northeast of East Hannibal. Fall Creek is approximately 1.5 miles to the northeast. The Burlington Northern Railroad line passes by the community.

Fall Creek Township is one of twenty-two townships in Adams County, Illinois, United States. As of the 2020 census, its population was 536 and it contained 228 housing units.

Levee Township is located in Pike County, Illinois. As of the 2010 census, its population was 47 and it contained 39 housing units. Levee formed as Douglas Township from Pike Township in November 1875. Douglas changed its name to Levee in April, 1876.

Payson Township is one of twenty-two townships in Adams County, Illinois, United States. As of the 2020 census, its population was 1,743 and it contained 728 housing units.

East Hannibal is an unincorporated community in Levee Township, Pike County, in the U.S. state of Illinois. The community was named for its location east of Hannibal, Missouri.

Shuck Island is a small island in the Mississippi River, located in Pike County, Illinois, opposite Hannibal, Missouri.

Pearl Island, also known as Glasscock Island, is a river island in the Mississippi River. It is in Levee Township in Illinois. Formerly, it was considered part of Hannibal, Missouri. Nearby islands include Shuck Island and Tower Island. It is the setting for Jackson's Island in books by Mark Twain.

The Mark Twain Memorial Bridge was a cantilevered through truss bridge carrying US 36 over the Mississippi River. It was replaced in 2000 with the extension of I-72 and subsequently demolished.

The Mark Twain Memorial Bridge is a bridge over the Mississippi River at Hannibal, Missouri, childhood home of Mark Twain, for whom the bridge is named. The bridge, north of the original bridge, was finished in 2000. The bridge carries traffic for Interstate 72 and U.S. Highway 36. The state of Missouri has put up a stone picture of Twain on the Missouri side of the bridge. The bridge opened to traffic on September 16, 2000. As part of the construction project, U.S. 36 was rerouted farther north, eliminating a dangerous sharp curve that had been on the Missouri approach. The cost of the bridge was $55 million.

Bear Creek is a stream in Marion and Ralls counties in the U.S. state of Missouri. It is a tributary of the Mississippi River. The creek enters the Mississippi on the southeast side of Hannibal. Bear Creek was named for the fact bears were hunted there by pioneer citizens.

Hafner Grocery Warehouse is a historic commercial warehouse located at Hannibal, Marion County, Missouri. It was built about 1910, and is a three-story brick structure on a concrete foundation. It features seven bays of segmental-arched windows and a corbelled parapet.: 48–49  It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1986.
