Abbeydale Road and its continuation Abbeydale Road South together are an arterial main road and bus route in Sheffield, South Yorkshire, England. The road begins at a junction with London Road near the former Royal Hotel public house. As Abbeydale Road it leads south-west from the suburb of Highfield, becoming Abbeydale Road South near Millhouses Park and leading to the railway bridge over the Dore and Chinley Railway, before becoming Baslow Road. The road forms part of the A621. The road passes Highfield, Abbeydale, Millhouses, Beauchief and Abbeydale Park. In Nether Edge, Abbeydale Road is home to the historic Abbeydale Picture House. Until 8 October 1960, trams of the Sheffield Tramway ran from Sheffield City Centre along Abbeydale Road to Millhouses terminus. The road has been converted to a dual-carriageway from Millhouses to the Baslow Road railway bridge.

Abbeydale Picture House (later Abbeydale Cinema) is a former cinema in Sheffield, England. When opened by the Lord Mayor of Sheffield on 20 December 1920 the picture house was the largest and most luxurious cinema in Sheffield, often referred to as the "Picture Palace" because of the luxurious cream and gold colour scheme, and dark mahogany seats trimmed with green velvet. The picture house also boasted many intricate decorations and carvings, a mosaic floor in the foyer and a glass canopy with a marble pillar to the outside of the building.

Chesterfield Road is a shopping street in Sheffield, England. It leads south from the suburb of Meersbrook to Woodseats, before becoming Meadowhead at the Abbey Lane junction, next to the Abbey pub. The road starts at Toll Bar bridge on the Meers Brook, the former boundary between Yorkshire and Derbyshire. There the road changes name from London Road to Chesterfield Road. The first building on Chesterfield Road (although bearing an Albert Road house number) is the Crown Inn. The street is home to a variety of pubs and shops, a police station and a library. The road forms part of the A61. Its first section forms an almost constant incline to the beginning of Woodseats. Between the old Meersbrook Quarry and Heeley Retail Park are views to the west of the Sheaf Valley.

Meersbrook Park is set on a steep hillside in Meersbrook, Sheffield, England, offering panoramic views over central Sheffield to the north. Within the park are two historic buildings: Bishops' House and Meersbrook Hall.

Millhouses engine shed was an engine shed in Millhouses, Sheffield. It was built by the Midland Railway in 1901 as Ecclesall engine shed, to serve the Midland Main Line. It was used mainly to stable passenger and mixed-traffic locomotives for use on trains from the nearby Sheffield Midland station. The shed was built next to Millhouses railway station; it had 8 dead end roads, and could handle about forty steam locomotives. Ecclesall shed was renamed Millhouses in 1920. Millhouses bore the shed code 25A, then 19B in 1935 and finally 41C in 1958.

The Lantern Theatre (originally called The Chalet Theatre) is a small Sheffield theatre (seating capacity 84) built in 1893 and is Sheffield's oldest theatre. The Lantern Theatre is a former professional theatre venue and arts centre that houses small and mid-scale theatre, music, and comedy. In 2011 the theatre produced their first professional co-production and in 2012 are producing their first in-house professional production of Order, a play by Martin Derbyshire. In 2012 Ruth Carney replaced Martin Derbyshire as Artistic Director only to leave after one season at the helm. The theatre no longer has an artistic team and is an amateur-run receiving venue run by a general manager. The theatre is situated in the residential area of Nether Edge, England. It was originally the personal theatre of a local industrialist, however it fell into disrepair after his death. It was restored as a theatre in 1957 by Dilys Guite. The Theatre was used almost exclusively by the Dilys Guite Players (who own the theatre) for the first forty years but in the last ten years the theatre has been hired out by the players and used by a number of groups, bands and companies.

Norton Cemetery is one of the city of Sheffield's many cemeteries. It was opened on 6 June 1869, and covers 6 acres (24,000 m2). Norton is a smaller cemetery running along two alleys spanning to the right and the left from the two gate houses (not listed). From the furthest graves and along the boundary wall, there are views of the Sheaf valley and the moors.The cemetery contains 34 graves of Commonwealth service personnel, registered and maintained by the Commonwealth War Graves Commission, 27 from World War I and 7 from World War II.

St Peter's Greenhill is a Parish Church in the Church of England Diocese of Sheffield located in the Greenhill area of the city.The church was built between 1964 and 1965 to serve the housing development that was built at what was then the edge of Sheffield. Prior to the construction of the church, the local population were served by the church of St James, Norton. The church was designed by Oxley and Bussey, and it was consecrated by the Bishop of Derby in May 1965.The church was designated a Grade II listed building in 1999.

St Paul's Church and Centre is a Parish Church in the Church of England Diocese of Sheffield located at the junction of Norton Lees Lane and Angerford Avenue, just above Meersbrook Park. Originally built between 1875 and 1877, St Paul's was much altered to meet the needs of an expanding congregation in 1935 when C. B. Flockton added broad North and South aisles. The recent phase of redevelopment, 2006–7, has just been completed. The church pews have been removed and replaced with modern chairs, and other rooms, such as the vestry, have been modernised for use as community rooms.

Heeley railway station was a railway station in Sheffield, England. The station served the communities of Heeley, Meersbrook and Lowfield and was situated on the Midland Main Line near London Road on Heeley Bridge, lying between Sheffield Midland station and Millhouses railway station. The station opened with the inauguration of the Midland Railway's main line between Chesterfield and Sheffield on 1 February 1870. This new station of 1870 was designed by the company architect John Holloway Sanders. It was built on an embankment between the A61, London Road South and the River Sheaf. During construction both the road and river were diverted to create space for the station and sidings. On 22 November 1876 an overnight passenger train from London St Pancras to Scotland via Carlisle derailed at Heeley due to a track defect, causing several people to be injured.Initially the station had two platforms but this was increased to four when the line from Sheffield to Dore was widened between 1901 and 1903. Heeley station was the only station on this section of the line that was an elevated station with subway access from below to the platforms. During the Great Sheffield Gale in 1962, there was a near miss at the station as a London to Sheffield express train narrowly avoided crashing into debris blown onto the tracks by the devastating storm; the station itself suffered damage which was never fully repaired. Heeley station closed on 10 June 1968 at the same time as Millhouses railway station and all the platform buildings were demolished. The subway is still present although both entrances have been blocked in; the entrance on London Road can be seen and iron railings are present. In July 2017, it was proposed by Local Enterprise Partnership that new stations should be built at Millhouses and Heeley as well as new platforms at Dore & Totley. The plans would be part of a call to have better links in South Yorkshire area as well as plans for a new Woodhead Route reopening.

Woodseats is a district of Sheffield, South Yorkshire in the Graves Park ward. Historically, Norton Woodseats (grid reference SK347833) was a village that straddled Derbyshire Lane running from Four Lane Ends to Bolehill (now part of Graves Park), originally in Derbyshire but since 1901, part of the City of Sheffield.The name Woodseats comes from the Old English Wodesettes, which means a 'fold in a wood'. Nether Woodseats itself was little more than a cluster of cottages around a road called 'The Dale' close to the intersection of Woodseats Road and Chesterfield Road (A61) and Upper Woodseats, near the Abbey Lane and Chesterfield Road junction. The first annual Woodseats Festival took place in July 2006.

Meersbrook (grid reference SK354841) is a suburban district in the south-west of Sheffield, England bordered by Nether Edge to the west, Norton Lees to the south, Heeley to the north and the Meersbrook allotment site (the largest allotment site in Europe) to the east. Until 1950 it was part of the Sheffield Ecclesall constituency and now forms part of the Sheffield Heeley constituency. The district falls within the Gleadless Valley ward of the city. The name comes from the stream, the Meers Brook, a tributary of the River Sheaf which means 'boundary brook' and in ancient times this, along with the River Sheaf formed the boundary between the Anglo-Saxon kingdoms of Northumbria and Mercia. It remained as the boundary between Yorkshire and Derbyshire into the 20th century. Meersbrook itself was once several small communities which have given many roads their names; Rush Dale, Carfield & Cliffe Field and in 1857 was known as Mears Brook. Due to its proximity to the city centre and a thriving independent cafe, bar and restaurant culture, Meersbrook has been called 'a magnet for young professionals'. Based on 2021 census data, Meersbrook is the thirteenth least deprived of the hundred neighbourhoods in Sheffield in relation to employment, education levels, health and housing.
