Millhouses and Ecclesall railway station was a railway station in the Millhouses district of Sheffield, South Yorkshire, England.

Millhouses is a neighbourhood in the City of Sheffield, England. It is located in Ecclesall ward; in the south-western portion of the city on the northwest bank of the River Sheaf. Its origins lie in a small hamlet that grew around the Ecclesall Corn Mill. It has a population (2006 estimate) of 4,424.The agriculture and industries of this area are now largely gone, leaving Millhouses as a mostly residential area. Local amenities include three schools, a 31.8 acres (12.87 ha) park, three pubs, three supermarkets, three churches and numerous small shops.

Hutcliffe Wood and Marriott Wood are two areas of ancient woodland in Sheffield, South Yorkshire, England. They occupy the steep southeastern side of the Abbeydale valley between Archer Road and Abbey Lane, separated by the River Sheaf and the railway line from Millhouses Park. Hutcliffe Wood Road divides the two areas of woodland, Hutcliffe Wood to the west and Marriott Wood to the east. In the past, the woods have been managed with the coppice-with-standards technique for the production of charcoal, and ganister is also believed to have been mined in this area. Both of these products were used by local industry. The woods are currently made up of mature deciduous trees, and are currently managed by Sheffield City Council for the benefit of wildlife and public recreation. Several public footpaths run through the woods.

Abbeydale Road and its continuation Abbeydale Road South together are an arterial main road and bus route in Sheffield, South Yorkshire, England. The road begins at a junction with London Road near the former Royal Hotel public house. As Abbeydale Road it leads south-west from the suburb of Highfield, becoming Abbeydale Road South near Millhouses Park and leading to the railway bridge over the Dore and Chinley Railway, before becoming Baslow Road. The road forms part of the A621. The road passes Highfield, Abbeydale, Millhouses, Beauchief and Abbeydale Park. In Nether Edge, Abbeydale Road is home to the historic Abbeydale Picture House. Until 8 October 1960, trams of the Sheffield Tramway ran from Sheffield City Centre along Abbeydale Road to Millhouses terminus. The road has been converted to a dual-carriageway from Millhouses to the Baslow Road railway bridge.

Nether Edge and Sharrow Ward , which includes the districts of Brincliffe, Nether Edge, Sharrow, and part of Highfield, is one of the 28 electoral wards in the City of Sheffield, England. It is located in the southern part of the city and covers an area of 1.31 square miles (3.4 km2). In 2011, the population of this ward was 18,890 people in 7,592 households. Nether Edge ward is one of the wards that make up the Sheffield Central parliamentary constituency.

Chesterfield Road is a shopping street in Sheffield, England. It leads south from the suburb of Meersbrook to Woodseats, before becoming Meadowhead at the Abbey Lane junction, next to the Abbey pub. The road starts at Toll Bar bridge on the Meers Brook, the former boundary between Yorkshire and Derbyshire. There the road changes name from London Road to Chesterfield Road. The first building on Chesterfield Road (although bearing an Albert Road house number) is the Crown Inn. The street is home to a variety of pubs and shops, a police station and a library. The road forms part of the A61. Its first section forms an almost constant incline to the beginning of Woodseats. Between the old Meersbrook Quarry and Heeley Retail Park are views to the west of the Sheaf Valley.

Abbeydale is an area in the City of Sheffield, England that follows the valley of the River Sheaf. It covers many districts of Sheffield in the south-west of the city running roughly from Heeley Bridge in the district of Heeley to Dore Road between Beauchief and Totley. It is named for the Abbey that existed at Beauchief from the 12th century to 1537. Although not the official name of any district, many businesses and institutions in the valley use Abbeydale in their name. These include: The A621 Abbeydale Road, the main road along the valley. The Abbeydale Brewery. Abbeydale Picture House, a Grade II listed former cinema in Nether Edge. Abbeydale Grange School, in Millhouses. Abbeydale Industrial Hamlet, a former scythe works, now a museum and scheduled monument. Millhouses Park is a public urban park located in the Millhouses neighbourhood in south of Sheffield, England. It is a 12.87-hectare (31.8-acre) park stretching approximately 0.75 miles (1.2 km) along the floor of the valley of the River Sheaf, sandwiched between Abbeydale Road South (A621) and the railway tracks of the Midland Main Line.

Abbeydale Picture House (later Abbeydale Cinema) is a former cinema in Sheffield, England. When opened by the Lord Mayor of Sheffield on 20 December 1920 the picture house was the largest and most luxurious cinema in Sheffield, often referred to as the "Picture Palace" because of the luxurious cream and gold colour scheme, and dark mahogany seats trimmed with green velvet. The picture house also boasted many intricate decorations and carvings, a mosaic floor in the foyer and a glass canopy with a marble pillar to the outside of the building.

The Nether Edge Hospital was a health facility in Union Road, Sheffield, South Yorkshire, England. The main building, known as the Kingswood Building, remains a Grade II listed building.

Norton Cemetery is one of the city of Sheffield's many cemeteries. It was opened on 6 June 1869, and covers 6 acres (24,000 m2). Norton is a smaller cemetery running along two alleys spanning to the right and the left from the two gate houses (not listed). From the furthest graves and along the boundary wall, there are views of the Sheaf valley and the moors.The cemetery contains 34 graves of Commonwealth service personnel, registered and maintained by the Commonwealth War Graves Commission, 27 from World War I and 7 from World War II.
