Winnipeg General Hospital

The Health Sciences Centre (HSC), located in Winnipeg, is the largest health-care facility in Manitoba and one of the largest hospitals in Canada. It serves the residents of Manitoba, Northwestern Ontario, and Nunavut as both a teaching hospital and as a research centre. HSC is a tertiary care hospital, encompassing many different specialty medical and surgical services. The Health Sciences Centre employs around 8,000 people. A few other health-related institutions are located adjacent to the hospital. The HSC has a 39-acre (16 ha) campus and houses various operations. Adjoined to the west of HSC is the University of Manitoba's Faculty of Health Sciences, a complex of ten buildings. The Cadham Provincial Laboratory is located next door to the hospital and is the main research and investigative arm of the government of Manitoba for infectious disease. The Canadian Blood Services main building is located across the street from the hospital. CancerCare Manitoba is also located adjacent to the hospital.

The Max Rady College of Medicine is a medical college of the University of Manitoba in Winnipeg and is one of several departments of the University's Rady Faculty of Health Sciences. Opening in 1883 as the Manitoba Medical College, it is the first medical school of the Prairie provinces. The College has 27 academic departments, institutes, and administrative units found throughout the University's Bannatyne campus, the Health Sciences Centre, and other Winnipeg health sciences facilities. The Canadian Science Centre for Human and Animal Health (CSCHAH) is an infectious disease laboratory complex in Winnipeg, Manitoba, owned and operated by the Government of Canada. This modern facility is home to two laboratories: the Public Health Agency of Canada's National Microbiology Laboratory (NML) and the Canadian Food Inspection Agency's National Centre for Foreign Animal Disease (NCFAD). It is the workplace of approximately 500 federal employees.While most of the laboratory space is dedicated to Containment Level 2 (also known as Biosafety Level 2) and Containment Level 3 laboratories, CSCHAH is the only facility in Canada operating Containment Level 4 (CL4) laboratories and is the first facility in the world to have both human and animal Level 4 laboratories under one roof.Both NML and NCFAD operate critical diagnostic testing programs relied on across the country. These programs protect human health, animal health, and international trade.

The Duckworth Centre is an arena and gym on the University of Winnipeg campus in downtown Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. Constructed in 1983 and officially opened on September 14, 1984, it hosts the University of Winnipeg Wesmen basketball and volleyball games and has a listed seated capacity of 1,780 and a maximum capacity of 2,450 for convocations and conventions. The facility can expand to include three full-size basketball courts or one centre court with two sides of retractable bleachers. The Lea Marc Printing Corporate suite oversees the centre court and is used for housing sponsors and VIP seating. Encircling the court is a 167-metre indoor running/walking track. The facility also houses six racquetball/squash/handball courts, change rooms and saunas, as well as administrative offices and athletic therapy services. In December 2018, a new Ring of Honour was commissioned and installed to recognize the important and most successful builders and athletes in Wesmen history. The inaugural class consisted of longtime women's basketball head coach Tom Kendall; point guard Sandra Carroll; longtime women's volleyball coach Mike Burchuk and current Wesmen head coach, and former all-star player, Diane Scott. The Duckworth Centre also houses the Bill Wedlake Fitness Centre, named after the former basketball coach and administrator. In 2019, it will play host to the NORCECA men's volleyball championship tournament.

Shea's Amphitheatre, also known as the Winnipeg Amphitheatre, was an indoor arena located in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. It seated 6,000 spectators. Constructed between 1908-1909 for horse shows, the Amphitheatre was also used as an indoor ice rink during the winter, with an ice surface measuring 67 by 26 metres (220 ft × 86 ft). It was, for a time, the only artificial ice surface between Toronto and Vancouver.Today, the headquarters of The Great-West Life Assurance Company occupy the site.

It was established in 1992 to research and developnoninvasive medical diagnostic technologies to increase prospects for prevention, earlier diagnosis, improved treatment and prognosis of diseases.Located adjacent to the University of Winnipeg campus in downtown Winnipeg, NRC-IBD also has satellite institutes in Halifax and Calgary.NRC-IBD conducts its research in partnership with medical schools, universities, other research organizations, and industry. Its research projects fall into the following six programs: Cancer research; cardiovascular disease research; IT-based decision technology; medical photonics; MR research and technology development; and neuroscience research.Its impact on Winnipeg's economy amounts to $30 million a year.
