The Lichfield transmitting station is situated close to Tamworth in Staffordshire in the West Midlands between the A5 and A51. The nearest geographical feature is Hopwas Hill. The station is owned and operated by Arqiva. The mast is known locally as Hopwas mast or Hints mast.

Weeford is a village and civil parish in the Lichfield district of Staffordshire, England. According to the 2011 Census, the parish had a population of 215, an increase from 202 in the 2001 Census.The name Weeford is believed to come from the Old English Wēohford or Wēoford, and to mean "Holy ford", or "ford by a heathen temple".The medieval church is dedicated to St Mary the Virgin, and listed Grade II. It was rebuilt to its present form in 1802, to a design by James Wyatt. Wyatt had himself been born at Blackbrook Farm in Weeford in 1746, and by 1802 had already designed such buildings as the Radcliffe Observatory, Oxford and Broadway Tower, Worcestershire. Manley Hall (also known as Thickbroom Hall) was an English Tudor-style country house which at one time stood in a 1200-acre estate on the western outskirts of the village.

Packington Hall (grid reference SK163063) in Staffordshire was an English country house designed by architect James Wyatt in the 18th century. Originally built for the Babington family, it became the home of the Levett family of Wychnor Hall, in that same county, until the first half of the twentieth century. The Levetts had ties to Whittington, Staffordshire and nearby Hopwas for many years.

Swinfen and Packington is a civil parish in Lichfield District, Staffordshire, England. The parish was newly formed in 1934 by division from Weeford. The parish includes the hamlet of Swinfen, and contains several listed buildings, including Packington Hall.

Hopwas is a village in Staffordshire, England. It lies along the North West borders of Tamworth Borough (along the River Tame to the east and Dunstall Lane to the south of Hopwas) and 5 miles (8 km) east of Lichfield. It is situated where the A51 road crosses both the River Tame and the Coventry Canal. Although adjacent to the Borough of Tamworth, the village is part of the parish of Wigginton and Hopwas within Lichfield District.

DMS Whittington, otherwise known as Defence Medical Services Whittington (formerly Whittington Barracks), is a military base in Whittington, Staffordshire, near Lichfield in England. The Staffordshire Regiment Museum is a military museum in Staffordshire, England, preserving the history of the Staffordshire Regiment (The Prince of Wales's), its antecedent regiments and its successor regiment, the Mercian Regiment, from 1705 to the present. The Staffordshire Regiment was an Infantry regiment of the British Army, formed in 1959 by the amalgamation of the South Staffordshire Regiment and the North Staffordshire Regiment.The museum is adjacent to Whittington Barracks, the former home of The Staffordshire Regiment's antecedent regiments since 1881, and the current base for the Regimental Headquarters of The Mercian Regiment and the Defence Medical Services. It is located in Whittington, Staffordshire on the A51 Lichfield-Tamworth Road, 3 miles from Lichfield and 4 miles from Tamworth. The museum is 6 miles from the National Memorial Arboretum in Alrewas, Staffordshire.

Mile Oak Rovers & Youth F.C. was a football club based in South Tamworth, Staffordshire, England. The club was established in 1958 and folded in 2010.

Tamworth is a constituency represented in the House of Commons of the UK Parliament, based on the town of Tamworth in Staffordshire, England. The seat is currently represented by Sarah Edwards of the Labour Party, following a by-election in October 2023. It was previously held by Chris Pincher of the Conservative Party, who held the seat from 2010 to 2023, when he resigned. He had been suspended from the party since July 2022.

Manley Hall (also known as Thickbroom Hall) was an English Tudor-style country house in Weeford, near Lichfield in Staffordshire. The house was built in 1833 in a 1200-acre estate for John Shawe Manley, who in 1843 was High Sheriff of Staffordshire. It was designed by architect Thomas Trubshaw (1801–1842) of Little Haywood. The building included a watch tower and elaborate finials and chimneys. However, due to severe wood rot, Manley Hall, apart from the south-west end, was demolished in 1905. On the estate today there is an open lawn where the house used to stand and Manley Wood. Plans are in hand to convert the service wing and the stable block to dwelling houses.

Roughley is an electoral ward within the Royal Town of Sutton Coldfield, and is the most northerly part of the administrative area covered by the Royal Sutton Coldfield Town Council and the City of Birmingham. Over half of Roughley Ward is attractive Green Belt countryside, including arable and dairy farms, historic field boundaries survive with mature hedgerows and woodlands. Several public footpaths provide access to the countryside and the one linking Hillwood Road and Dale Farm provides distant views of Lichfield Cathedral and on a clear day the Pennine Hills. Roughley was historically part of the county of Warwickshire and is now within the West Midlands. It includes parts of the old parishes of Hill and Canwell, and before May 2018 most of the area was within Four Oaks Ward. Local facilities within Roughley include the Mitchell Centre with independent shops, an art gallery, and bistro, all in premises converted from agricultural buildings, and nearby is the Chase Farm Shop with links to the farmer and butcher, Walter Smith. Roughley Ward includes the Moor Hall Estate, containing Moor Hall Farm House, (listed grade II*), dating from the late fourteenth century, which was the birthplace of John Vesey, Bishop of Exeter (born circa 1462), who became the great benefactor of Sutton Coldfield through his connections with King Henry VIII. The estate also includes Moor Hall Hotel upon the site of the former mansion built by John Vesey for his own occupation, and there is also a golf course and exclusive housing. John Vesey built 51 stone houses for the people of Sutton Coldfield in the sixteenth century and surviving houses within Roughley Ward include Vesey Grange (grade II* listed), on Weeford Road, and Vesey Cottage, (grade II* listed), upon the land of Wheatmoor Farm, accessed off Withyhill Road. Other notable buildings include Ashfurlong Hall, (grade II* listed), Tamworth Road, a manor house dating mainly from the late eighteenth century, but incorporating earlier sixteenth century buildings. Roughley Ward includes the Harvest Fields development, built by Barratt Homes and Crest Nicholson at the start of the twenty-first century, with several hundred homes arranged around a small park containing a community centre and nursery school, together with an access to Little Sutton Primary School.
