Buckhurst Hill

Braeside School is an independent school located in Buckhurst Hill in Essex that is part of The Oak-Tree Group of Schools. The school is an all-through day school for girls aged 2 1/2 to 16. Since 2020, both the Junior School and Senior School have been on the same site, on High Road, Buckhurst Hill, which formerly was exclusively for the Seniors.

Linder's Field is a 3.6 hectare Local Nature Reserve in Buckhurst Hill in Essex. It is owned and managed by Epping Forest District Council.Linder's Field is a surviving fragment of an ancient wood called Pluckett's Wood. It is named after its former owner, Charles Linder. In 1956 he granted the site to Chigwell Council (which later became Epping Forest Council) for 35 years, and in 1963 his family handed over the site permanently. It was designated a Local Nature Reserve in 2000.The site has ancient woodland, scrub, grassland and ponds. The ponds have frogs, toads and newts, and bats forage in the hedgerows. Plants include bluebells and wood anemone. It also has a wildflower meadow which is an important habitat for many species of invertebrates, birds and mammals.The main entrance is in Roebuck Lane.

Buckhurst Hill is a London Underground station, in the Epping Forest district of Essex. It is served by the Central line and is between Woodford and Loughton. It is the larger of the two Underground stations in the town of Buckhurst Hill, with Roding Valley station being the smaller. It is the only London Underground station located in Zone 5 but not in a London Borough.

Hatch Lane & Highams Park North Ward is a political division of the London Borough of Waltham Forest, and is one of the six Waltham Forest wards of the Chingford and Woodford Green Constituency represented by Iain Duncan Smith MP. The ward is represented at the council by three councillors with elections every four years. A by-election is due to take place on 6 May 2021.The population of the ward of the ward at the 2011 Census was 11,058.The ward boundaries were amended slightly to include a small part of the former Highams Park and Hale End Ward. Roding Valley is a London Underground station situated in Buckhurst Hill in the Epping Forest district of Essex, straddling the boundary between that council and Greater London (the London Borough of Redbridge). The station is on the Hainault loop of the Central line between Chigwell and Woodford stations. However, geographically it is midway between Woodford and Buckhurst Hill stations. It is located between Station Way and Cherry Tree Rise (off Buckhurst Way). Since 2 January 2007, the station has been in Travelcard Zone 4.With around 0.16 million passenger journeys recorded in 2021, Roding Valley is the 268th busiest Underground station and hence the most lightly used Underground station. Kensington (Olympia) had 0.03 million underground passenger journeys recorded in 2021, but other services are provided to the station by London Overground and Southern.

Butler's Retreat is a Grade II listed building at Rangers Road, Chingford, London E4. Originally a barn thought to have been built in the early 19th century, it is one of the few remaining Victorian retreats within the forest. The building is very close to Queen Elizabeth's Hunting Lodge and takes its name from its 1891 occupier, John Butler. Retreats originally served non-alcoholic refreshments as part of the Temperance movement. After closing in 2009, the building was refurbished by the City of London Corporation and re-opened as a cafe in 2012.

Woodford Wells is a small settlement on the edge of Epping Forest, in Woodford, East London. The area lies about 9.5 miles (15.3 km) north-east of Charing Cross. The name is shown in the Chapman and Andre 1777 map of Essex, and shortly after on an Ordnance Survey map of 1805; the name refers refers to mineral water wells. In the 18th century briefly the hamlet was a small spa but by the 1870s the wells had been long neglected and Woodford Wells had become part of a "straggle of hamlets". Among its notable features is the Horse & Well, a 17th-century coaching inn still in operation. Woodford Wells is home to Woodford Wells F.C.

Monkhams is an area in Woodford in the London Borough of Redbridge. The Monkhams Estate is an affluent area consisting mainly of large, detached homes.

The Anti–Air War Memorial is located in Woodford Green, London, England. It was commissioned and erected by the socialist suffragist Sylvia Pankhurst in 1935 as "a protest against war in the air". It is Britain's first anti-war memorial, and is recorded in the National Heritage List for England as a Grade II listed building.
