Drakelow Tunnels

Drakelow Hillfort, is a small multivallate Iron Age hillfort, located on a promontory (known as Drakelow Hill) at Drakelow at the southern end of Kinver Edge, in the civil parish of Wolverley and Cookley, Worcestershire. The hillfort is a scheduled monument.

The mixed gender school has approximately 670 students on roll (2014) and opened in 2007 following the closure of its predecessor, Wolverley High School, as part of the local area reorganisation from three-tier education. At the same time, the school became a controlled Church of England school.The school accepts students aged 11 to 18, and offers courses at GCSE and A-Level. The February 2014 Ofsted inspection results, published in March 2014, reported the school as being 'a school that requires improvement'. A later inspection in June 2016 rated the school as ‘Good’.

Castle Hill or Baron Hill is about a mile from the hamlet of Kingsford in the civil parish of Wolverley and Cookley, Worcestershire. In 1912 the site consisted of "a small ruinous timber-framed building, used as a cowshed, mainly of 15th century date but bearing traces of earlier features. On the hillside itself is a segment of a moat encircling a third of the hill and the embankments of three communicating fishponds covering about 4 acres. The two lower ponds still contain water while the upper is used as an orchard". In 1913 it was thought to be the ruins of a castle, a possibility which David Cathcart-King mentions in his 1983 work Castellarium anglicanum.After surveying the site, Duignan (publishing in 1912) suggested that it was the remains of a late 12th century hunting lodge, but Brown, Colvin and Taylor publishing in 1963 showed that Duigan was mistaken, and the royal hunting lodge to which he referred—one in the Forest of Kinver (recorded in documents of 1195–96)—was located at Stourton Castle. However, there was another earlier royal hunting lodge at Kinver, (recorded in 1184–85) the site of which is unknown and which could have been at Castle Hill.Inspectors from English Heritage visited the site in 1997 and although the site is very ruinous confirmed its importance and "regarded as having a high archaeological potential".

Kingsford Country Park, officially Kingsford Forest Park, was in Worcestershire, England, U.K. and managed by Worcestershire County Council. It adjoined Kinver Edge, Staffordshire, a National Trust property, to which it was connected by multiple paths. Part of the country park was formerly known as Blakeshall Common. The country park covers 200 acres (0.81 km2), consisting mainly of pine and broad leaved woodland with some heaths and a small section of grassland. The woodland stretches over a terrain of hills and cliffs, with many sandy paths crisscrossing the lower woodland—some even going up cliff outcrops and across to a middle section between the woodland floor and clifftops—and the main paths leading up to the cliffs, which are also dominated by woodland. There are four circular trails starting from Kingsford Lane and Blakeshall Lane car parks: The Robin Trail, a third of a mile (0.5 km) The Coal Tit Trail, over one mile (2 km) The Nuthatch Trail, about one and a half miles (2.5 km) The Woodpecker Trail, almost two miles (3 km)

It lies on the River Stour, and the Staffordshire and Worcestershire Canal in the civil parish of Wolverley and Cookley. At the time of the 2001 census had a population of 2,491.Commerce within the village include a Florist, a cafe, an Indian take away, a fish and chip shop and a village shop; all of which are family-run. It also has a Tesco Express and two Public Houses. The Village Hall is large and very well used by many different groups and clubs. It is situated alongside Cookley Playing Fields. The village has very active junior/senior Football and Cricket clubs.
