Post University is a private for-profit university in Waterbury, Connecticut. It was founded in 1890 as Post College. From 1990 to 2004 it was affiliated with Teikyo University in Tokyo, Japan and during that time it was named Teikyo Post University. The university offers over 25 undergraduate and graduate programs in day, evening, and online courses with most of its students participating exclusively online and its main campus is struggling with steady enrollment.

Chase Collegiate School was a nonsectarian private day school offering education for children from pre-kindergarten through grade 12. The school was on a 47-acre (190,000 m2) campus in Waterbury, Connecticut. On October 2, 2017, the school announced that it had been purchased by York Education Group, a for-profit entity which owns multiple schools. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the school announced its closure on August 13, 2020.As of 2015, the enrollment was 276 students: 61 Lower School (age 3 pre-kindergarten through 5th grade), 75 Middle School (6th through 8th grades), and 140 Upper School (high school).

John F. Kennedy High School is a high school, located in the city of Waterbury, Connecticut, United States. U.S. Congresswoman Jahana Hayes was a teacher here, and won National Teacher of the Year in 2016, prior to her successful run for congress in 2018.

Naugatuck Valley Community College (NVCC) is a public community college in Waterbury, Connecticut. It is one of the 13 colleges in the Connecticut State Colleges & Universities system. NVCC grants a variety of associate degrees and certificates.

Hop Brook Lake is spread over three communities in New Haven County, Connecticut, United States. These communities are Naugatuck, Middlebury, and Waterbury. A dam was created across Hop Brook in Naugatuck and the lake that was created is known as Hop Brook Lake.

Whittemore Glen State Park is an undeveloped public recreation and wilderness area for hiking and horseback riding covering 242 acres (98 ha) mostly within the town of Naugatuck, Connecticut. Sitting outside the southwestern edge of the city of Waterbury, the state park is the eastern terminus of the Larkin State Park Trail. It entered the roles as Connecticut's forty-eighth state park in the 1945–46 edition of the Connecticut Register and Manual. The park is managed by the Connecticut Department of Energy and Environmental Protection.

WFNW (1380 KHz, "Rádio Press") is a radio station licensed to Naugatuck, Connecticut. The station is owned by Candido Dias Carrelo. It airs a Portuguese contemporary radio format. The station has been assigned the WFNW call letters by the Federal Communications Commission since February 13, 1989.By day, WFNW is powered at 3,500 watts. At night, to avoid interference with other stations on 1380 AM, it reduces power to 350 watts. It uses a directional antenna at all times. Its transmitter is on Thunderbird Drive in Naugatuck.

Riverside Cemetery is a historic rural cemetery located at 496 Riverside Street in Waterbury, Connecticut on the western bank of the Naugatuck River. Dedicated on September 24, 1853, it is 36.4-acre (14.7 ha) in size and includes winding tree-lined paths, upper and lower ponds and an array of funerary monuments in the gothic, neo-classical, and romantic style. The property also includes many older burials and headstones dating back to the late 1700s which were relocated from the defunct Grand Street burial ground. The cemetery was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1988.

Waterbury station is a commuter rail stop on the Waterbury Branch of the Metro-North Railroad's New Haven Line, located on Meadow Street in Waterbury, Connecticut. It is the northern terminus of the Waterbury Branch. Following its completion on March 28, 2015, improved express bus service began between Waterbury station to Hartford via the CTfastrak busway, servicing the communities of Southington and Cheshire using this partially grade-separated route.

The Washington Avenue Bridge is a historic lenticular truss bridge carrying Washington Avenue over the Mad River in Waterbury, Connecticut. Built in 1881, it is the oldest known surviving example of a lenticular pony truss bridge built by the Corrugated Metal Company, later known as the Berlin Iron Bridge Company, a prolific bridge maker in New England of the late 19th century. The bridge was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2001.
