Tøyen station

Tøyenbadet is an indoor swimming facility in Oslo, Norway. It is the biggest swimming pool facility in the country. Situated in Helgesens Gate 90, it was designed by architect Gert Walter Thuesen. It was built in 1976 and contains indoor and outdoor swimming pools. It was closed for refurbishment in spring 2007 and re-opened in autumn 2008; six months later than planned. Within months of this refurbishment, the facility was experiencing water leakage problems.Due to persistent maintenance and structural problems, the facility closed permanently in January 2020, to be entirely demolished and rebuilt. Re-opening is expected in 2023.

Hasle Church is a church in the neighborhood of Hasle in the city of Oslo, Norway.The church was designed by architect Harald Hille and was consecrated by bishop Johannes Smemo on December 11, 1960. It is a yellow brick church. There is a separate bell tower. Church orientation is from northeast to southwest. The church room itself can seat about 270 people, and there is an adjoining church hall. In addition, the built-in kitchen, church room, meeting room, offices and two rooms as well as shelters. There is a small sacristy near the organ. The church organ has 14 voices and was put into service a month after the church was consecrated.The altar tapestry is created by Kari-Bjørg Ile. On the west wall of the ward hall also hangs a former altarpiece from a former church building in central Oslo. The church underwent rehabilitation work in 2019.The church is listed by the Norwegian Directorate for Cultural Heritage.

Tøyen Park (Norwegian: Tøyenparken) is a park in Oslo, Norway. It is located to the north-east of the Munch Museum and neighbours the University of Oslo Botanical Gardens.Tøyen Park is an expanse of grass-covered hills, dotted with clusters of large trees. Like most parks in Oslo, Tøyen Park is a popular recreation area. During summer, groups of people barbecue and fly frisbees, while during winter, tobogganing down the hills is popular. Tøyen Park attracts birdwatchers, where frequently seen birds include the hawfinch. Since 2014, the annual music festival Øyafestivalen has been held here every summer.Tøyenbadet contains indoor and outdoor swimming pools. The water park features a swimming hall and several open-air pools along with a waterslide and sauna. There is an indoor climbing wall. Small children have their own pool. The outdoor pool is open year-round. The park provides a dressing area and shower facilities.

Carl Berners plass is an underground rapid transit station located on the Grorud Line of the Oslo Metro, and a tram stop on the Sinsen Line of the Oslo Tramway. The square also has a bus stop for lines 20, 21, 31 and 33. Located at Helsfyr in Oslo, Norway, the area has a mixture of apartment buildings and small businesses. The station is the first metro station on the Grorud Line after it branches off from the shared Common Tunnel. North of the station, the Ring Line branches off from the Grorud Line. The station is served by line 5 of the metro and Line 17 of the tramway, with four hourly departures during regular hours. The tram operates every 10 minutes during regular hours. The square was taken into use as a tram stop on 1 February 1923. The station took the name after the square, which is again named for the 19th and early 20th-century politician Carl Berner. From 6 February 1949, Line 20 of the Oslo trolleybus started serving the square. From 2 January 1955, the Rodeløkka Line of the tramway was rerouted to run via Carl Berners plass, although it was closed again on 1961. The underground metro station opened on 16 October 1966, and the trolleybus service was replaced by diesel buses in 1968. From 20 August 2006, the metro station also started serving the Ring Line (Line 5).

Keyserløkka is a neighborhood in the borough of Grünerløkka in Oslo, Norway. It was originally farmland under Tøyen. In 1850 it was given to professor Rudolf Keyser. It was later sold to the municipality, and built up with larger buildings between 1949 and 1956.

Carl Berners plass is a square in Oslo, Norway. It is located in the borough Helsfyr, south of Sinsen. The Sinsen Line of the Oslo Tramway runs over the square. The colloquial expression for the square is just "Carl Berner". Around the square is a large number of shops as well as inexpensive restaurants. At the southern end of the area is the large Tøyen Park.

Kampen is a neighborhood in Oslo, Norway. It is located Gamle Oslo borough, between Tøyen, Hasle, Vålerenga and Galgeberg.

Tøyen is a rapid transit station located in the Common Tunnel of Oslo Metro in Norway. Located in the borough of Gamle Oslo, it is also called "Tøyen-Munchmuseet" due to its proximity to the art museum. It is the last station on the east side shared by all lines; the Grorud Line and Ring Line departs from the other four lines at Tøyen. The station has three platforms, on the south side is a platform for all outbound trains. Across the tracks is another for inbound trains coming from Ensjø, and on the other side of this platform is a third one for inbound trains from Carl Berners plass. The station was opened on 22 May 1966 as part of the new metro lines to the eastern boroughs of Oslo. Above the metro station is a shopping centre. Apart from the Munch Museum, there is a park north of the subway station with botanical gardens and paleontological, geological and zoological museums. There is also a railway station, Tøyen Station, that is located on the Gjøvik Line, though this station is located 750 metres (2,460 ft) from the metro station.

Gamle Oslo is a borough of the city of Oslo, Norway. The name means "Old Oslo", and the district contains Old Town. The Natural History Museum at the University of Oslo (Norwegian: Naturhistorisk museum, NHM) is Norway's oldest and largest museum of natural history. It is situated in the neighborhood of Tøyen in Oslo, Norway. It traces its roots to the University Botanical Garden, which was founded near Tøyen Manor in 1814. Museums for zoology, botany and geology were added approximately a hundred years later, when the university campus in central Oslo had become too small for such purposes. Major proponents were Waldemar Christofer Brøgger and Nordal Wille. For most of the twentieth century the museums and botanical garden were organized in five different entities; these were merged on 1 August 1999. The current name dates from 2005.The Zoological Museum displaying wildlife from Norway as well as the rest of the world. The Botanical Garden contains 35,000 plants, 7,500 species and two exhibition greenhouses. The Geological Museum contain research material of more than 2 million fossils, rock specimens and minerals. A selection of specimens are on display in both the Geological Museum and the Zoological Museum. Among the attractions is the Darwinius masillae fossil "Ida", a primate from the Eocene Epoch.

Kampen Church is a church in the neighborhood of Kampen in Oslo, Norway. The church was consecrated 29 November 1882. After a fire in Kampen in 1878, plans for the reconstruction of the neighborhood included a new church. In 1880 it was founded a new congregation, that was located elsewhere until the church was finished. The church is made of brick and has 480 seats. The architect for the church was Jacob Wilhelm Nordan. The church tower is covered with copper sheet. The altarpiece of the church shows two women at the empty grave of Jesus on Easter morning and was created in 1884 by the Norwegian painter and sculptor Axel Ender and was restored in 1913. Above four of the church's interior doors there are symbols of the four Gospels conducted by Enevold Thømt in 1913. The church is adorned with twelve large and six small stained glass windows and two rosette windows of the front doors, created by Peer Lorentz Dahl. The Madonna sculpture in marble (located in the Church porch) is created by sculptor Knut Steen in 1992.The church is listed and protected by law by the Norwegian Directorate for Cultural Heritage.
