Carl Berners plass

Carl Berners plass is an underground rapid transit station located on the Grorud Line of the Oslo Metro, and a tram stop on the Sinsen Line of the Oslo Tramway. The square also has a bus stop for lines 20, 21, 31 and 33. Located at Helsfyr in Oslo, Norway, the area has a mixture of apartment buildings and small businesses. The station is the first metro station on the Grorud Line after it branches off from the shared Common Tunnel. North of the station, the Ring Line branches off from the Grorud Line. The station is served by line 5 of the metro and Line 17 of the tramway, with four hourly departures during regular hours. The tram operates every 10 minutes during regular hours. The square was taken into use as a tram stop on 1 February 1923. The station took the name after the square, which is again named for the 19th and early 20th-century politician Carl Berner. From 6 February 1949, Line 20 of the Oslo trolleybus started serving the square. From 2 January 1955, the Rodeløkka Line of the tramway was rerouted to run via Carl Berners plass, although it was closed again on 1961. The underground metro station opened on 16 October 1966, and the trolleybus service was replaced by diesel buses in 1968. From 20 August 2006, the metro station also started serving the Ring Line (Line 5).

Romerike Folk High School is a freelance folk high school at Jessheim in Akershus. The school has approximately 105 students and is owned by Viken county. Romerike has cultivated one discipline, theater and music. Each year, approximately 40-50 small and large performances, everything from concerts, the whole evening's theater pieces and smaller study projects. The biggest productions play 10-14 performances, usually twice a day. The students live in boarding houses. The school is 8 km from Oslo Airport, Gardermoen and 2 km from Jessheim city center at Nordbytjernet.

Tøyen Station (Norwegian: Tøyen stasjon) is a railway station located in Oslo on the Gjøvik Line. It is located in the borough of Grünerløkka and is the first stop on the line after Oslo Central Station. The station was opened in 1904. It is a small unmanned station which is only served by local trains by Vy Gjøvikbanen. It is 4.45 km from Oslo S. 1400 meters from the railway station is the metro station with the same name, located on the Oslo Metro. There is no tram/metro/train connection between the two stations. There is a bus route, 60, from Tøyen to Tøyen stasjon.

Rodeløkka is a neighborhood in Grünerløkka in Oslo, Norway. From 1900 to 1961, it was served by the Rodeløkka Line of the Oslo Tramway.

Tøyenbadet is an indoor swimming facility in Oslo, Norway. It is the biggest swimming pool facility in the country. Situated in Helgesens Gate 90, it was designed by architect Gert Walter Thuesen. It was built in 1976 and contains indoor and outdoor swimming pools. It was closed for refurbishment in spring 2007 and re-opened in autumn 2008; six months later than planned. Within months of this refurbishment, the facility was experiencing water leakage problems.Due to persistent maintenance and structural problems, the facility closed permanently in January 2020, to be entirely demolished and rebuilt. Re-opening is expected in 2023.

The Natural History Museum at the University of Oslo (Norwegian: Naturhistorisk museum, NHM) is Norway's oldest and largest museum of natural history. It is situated in the neighborhood of Tøyen in Oslo, Norway. It traces its roots to the University Botanical Garden, which was founded near Tøyen Manor in 1814. Museums for zoology, botany and geology were added approximately a hundred years later, when the university campus in central Oslo had become too small for such purposes. Major proponents were Waldemar Christofer Brøgger and Nordal Wille. For most of the twentieth century the museums and botanical garden were organized in five different entities; these were merged on 1 August 1999. The current name dates from 2005.The Zoological Museum displaying wildlife from Norway as well as the rest of the world. The Botanical Garden contains 35,000 plants, 7,500 species and two exhibition greenhouses. The Geological Museum contain research material of more than 2 million fossils, rock specimens and minerals. A selection of specimens are on display in both the Geological Museum and the Zoological Museum. Among the attractions is the Darwinius masillae fossil "Ida", a primate from the Eocene Epoch.

The Paleontological Museum (Paleontologiske samlinger) contains the largest collection of fossils in Norway. It is part of the Natural History Museum at the University of Oslo. The principal focus is on fossils from the Lower Palaeozoic rocks of the Oslo Region, the Norwegian continental shelf and from the Arctic Archipelago. The collection includes fossils and sedimentary rocks from both the Arctic and Antarctic regions. Large collections are from Svalbard, as well as specimens from Greenland, Canada and Russia. The collection is estimated to consist of over 1 million samples, including fossils of invertebrates from the Permian geologic period. Fossils of vertebrates include fossils from Svalbard of early fish from the Devonian geologic period. Post-glacial fossils and sediment samples from Norway are represented, as are Devonian plant fossils, principally from the Arctic region of Canada.

Tøyen Park (Norwegian: Tøyenparken) is a park in Oslo, Norway. It is located to the north-east of the Munch Museum and neighbours the University of Oslo Botanical Gardens.Tøyen Park is an expanse of grass-covered hills, dotted with clusters of large trees. Like most parks in Oslo, Tøyen Park is a popular recreation area. During summer, groups of people barbecue and fly frisbees, while during winter, tobogganing down the hills is popular. Tøyen Park attracts birdwatchers, where frequently seen birds include the hawfinch. Since 2014, the annual music festival Øyafestivalen has been held here every summer.Tøyenbadet contains indoor and outdoor swimming pools. The water park features a swimming hall and several open-air pools along with a waterslide and sauna. There is an indoor climbing wall. Small children have their own pool. The outdoor pool is open year-round. The park provides a dressing area and shower facilities.

Hasle Church is a church in the neighborhood of Hasle in the city of Oslo, Norway.The church was designed by architect Harald Hille and was consecrated by bishop Johannes Smemo on December 11, 1960. It is a yellow brick church. There is a separate bell tower. Church orientation is from northeast to southwest. The church room itself can seat about 270 people, and there is an adjoining church hall. In addition, the built-in kitchen, church room, meeting room, offices and two rooms as well as shelters. There is a small sacristy near the organ. The church organ has 14 voices and was put into service a month after the church was consecrated.The altar tapestry is created by Kari-Bjørg Ile. On the west wall of the ward hall also hangs a former altarpiece from a former church building in central Oslo. The church underwent rehabilitation work in 2019.The church is listed by the Norwegian Directorate for Cultural Heritage.

Sofienberg Church is located at Sofienberg in Oslo, Norway and is designed by the Danish-born architect Jacob Wilhelm Nordan. It was first known as Paulus Kirke (St Paul's) but its name was changed to Petrus Kirke (St Peter's) in 1892 and finally to Sofienberg Kirke in 1962. The church is surrounded by Sofienberg Park, where it was previously a cemetery. The church was consecrated in 1877 and seats approximately 500. The altarpiece, which shows Christ on the Cross was painted by Otto Sinding in 1879. The church has stained glass windows at the main entrance, made by Maria Vigeland (1951) and on the south wall, made by Enevold Thømt (1920). The church organ is from 2013. It has 42 voices. The new organ was supplied by the German organ builder firm Eule. The church is known to have good acoustics and is an attractive concert venue in Oslo's Eastend.The church is protected by law by the Norwegian Directorate for Cultural Heritage.

Sinsen is a mixed residential and commercial area in Grünerløkka borough of Oslo, Norway. The westernmost part of Sinsen is part of the borough Nordre Aker. The Sinsen Interchange, located on the border between the boroughs of Nordre Aker, Grünerløkka and Bjerke, was the first roundabout in Norway. It has since developed into a multi-lever intersection, with both Ring 3, National Road 4 and the Sinsen Line of the Oslo Tramway routes around. "North of the Sinsen Interchange" is common expression in the Norwegian district debates, where inhabitants of Oslo are accused of being ignorant of the country north of the interchange. The expression cropped up in revues during the 1960s, and is probably due to that Sinsen then was the end point for the main road leading into Oslo from the north.The area is served by the Sinsen Line of the Oslo Tramway. The Oslo T-bane serves the neighborhood at Sinsen Station, while the Gjøvik Line serves the area at Grefsen Station.

The University Botanical Garden (Botanisk hage) is Norway's oldest botanical garden. It was first established in 1814 and is administrated by the University of Oslo. It is situated in the neighborhood of Tøyen in Oslo, Norway.
