Glen Tilt (Scottish Gaelic: Gleann Teilt) is a glen in the extreme north of Perth and Kinross, Scotland. Beginning at the confines of Aberdeenshire, it follows a South-westerly direction excepting for the last 4 miles, when it runs due south to Blair Atholl. It is watered throughout by the Tilt, which enters the Garry after a course of 14 miles, and receives on its right the Tarf, which forms some falls just above the confluence, and on the left the Fender, which has some falls also. The attempt of George Murray, 6th Duke of Atholl to close the glen to the public was successfully contested by the Scottish Rights of Way Society in 1847. The massive mountain of Beinn a' Ghlò and its three Munros Càrn nan Gabhar (1129 m), Bràigh Coire Chruinn-bhalgain (1070 m) and Càrn Liath (975) dominate the glen's eastern lower half. Perthshire is the historic county that Glen Tilt was within, Perth was the county town. Marble of good quality is occasionally quarried in the glen, and the rock formation has long attracted the attention of geologists.

Loch Moraig is a freshwater loch, located 2 miles northeast of Blair Atholl. Loch Moraig was an artificial loch, originally a Snipe marsh, that was dammed in the south, to create the current loch.

Lude House (also known as House of Lude or Lude Estate) is a Category B listed country house and estate in Blair Atholl, Perth and Kinross, Scotland. It was completed in 1839, and it received its historic designation in 1971. The building was designed by William Burn.Today's building replaces an earlier structure, owned by the Robertson family, which was demolished in the early 19th century.As of 2022, it is the seat of Andrew Grant, whose family has owned the estate since 1938. The McInroy family owned it in the 19th century.The estate's six cottages are available for rental.Lude Airfield (ICAO airport code GB-0329; also known as Blair Atholl Airfield), located around 0.8 miles (1.3 km) to the south, is owned by the estate.

Beinn Dearg (1,009 m) is a mountain in the Grampian Mountains of Scotland. It lies north of the Perth and Kinross village of Blair Atholl, in the Forest of Atholl. It makes for a long but straightforward hill walk in the summer months and the views are extensive from its summit.

Bridge of Tilt (Scottish Gaelic: Drochaid Theilt) is a village in Perthshire, Scotland, built around the River Tilt (Scottish Gaelic: Abhainn Teilt), near its confluence with the River Garry. It is 5+3⁄4 miles (9.3 kilometres) northwest of Pitlochry. The newer part of the village is continuous with Blair Atholl, only separated by the River Tilt. The village is located primarily on the B8079 between Pitlochry and Dunalastair Water, but the older part of the village (Old Bridge of Tilt) is located further up the River Tilt. The A9 runs past the River Garry to the south of Bridge of Tilt, and connects the village with Newtonmore and Inverness in the north and Pitlochry, Perth and Stirling in the south.

Blair Atholl (from the Scottish Gaelic: Blàr Athall, originally Blàr Ath Fhodla) is a village in Perthshire, Scotland, built about the confluence of the Rivers Tilt and Garry in one of the few areas of flat land in the midst of the Grampian Mountains. The Gaelic place-name Blair, from blàr, 'field, plain', refers to this location. Atholl, which means 'new Ireland', from the archaic Ath Fhodla is the name of the surrounding district. On 13 March 2008, it was announced that Blair Atholl (together with some other Highland Perthshire villages) would be included in the Cairngorms National Park. This change was made at the request of the people of the town. The Forest of Atholl already formed part of the Cairngorms.

Aldclune is a village in Perth and Kinross, Scotland. It is on the B8079 road, approximately 1+1⁄2 miles (2.5 kilometres) east of Blair Atholl, on the north bank of the River Garry. At the eastern edge of the village is the site of the Battle of Killiecrankie, which took place in 1689 during the Jacobite rising of 1689–92.

Three miles north of Pitlochry by the A9 road, the Pass of Killiecrankie (Gaelic: Coille Chneagaidh), is a gorge lying between Ben Vrackie (841 m (2,759 ft)) and Tenandry Hill in Perth and Kinross on the River Garry.The river-gorge traverses the pass over the course of a mile, and above it, the road and the railway, with the village of Killiecrankie at the north end. Much of the area is owned by the National Trust for Scotland.About a mile toward the village of Killiecrankie, the Battle of Killiecrankie took place in 1689.There was also a ship, a 3-masted bark named the Pass of Killiecrankie of the Killiecrankie line. The ship was built in 1893 and later renamed Stifinder.Killiecrankie is part of the Loch Tummel National Scenic Area (NSA), one of 40 such areas in Scotland, which are defined so as to identify areas of exceptional scenery and to ensure its protection by restricting certain forms of development.

Killiecrankie ( ; (Scottish Gaelic: Coille Chreithnich, meaning aspen wood) is a village in Perth and Kinross, Scotland on the River Garry. It lies at the Pass of Killiecrankie, by the A9 road which has been bypassed since 1986. The village is home to a power station forming part of the Tummel Hydro-Electric Power Scheme. Much of the riverbank is owned by the National Trust for Scotland. The nearby 10 arch railway viaduct, which runs for 109 yards (100 m) along the north-east bank of the River Garry, was built in 1863 from a design by Joseph Mitchell.

The Battle of Killiecrankie , also known as the Battle of Rinrory, took place on 27 July 1689 during the 1689 Scottish Jacobite rising. An outnumbered Jacobite force under Sir Ewen Cameron of Lochiel and John Graham, Viscount Dundee, defeated a government army commanded by General Hugh Mackay. James VII went into exile in December 1688 after being deposed by the Glorious Revolution in Scotland. In March 1689, he began the Williamite War in Ireland, with a simultaneous revolt led by Dundee, previously military commander in Scotland. Hampered by lack of men and resources, Dundee gambled on a decisive battle which he hoped would attract wider support. Although Killiecrankie was an unexpected and stunning victory, his army suffered heavy casualties and he was killed in the final minutes. It did little to change the overall strategic position, and the Jacobites were unable to take advantage of their success.

The Killiecrankie railway station served the village of Killiecrankie, Perth and Kinross, Scotland from 1864 to 1965.

Blair Castle (in Scottish Gaelic: Caisteil Bhlàir) stands in its grounds near the village of Blair Atholl in Perthshire in Scotland. It is the ancestral home of the Clan Murray, and was historically the seat of their chief, the Duke of Atholl, though the current (12th) Duke, Bruce Murray, lives in South Africa. The castle stands in Glen Garry, and commands a strategic position on the main route (now the A9 road) through the central Scottish Highlands. The castle is a category A listed building, and the grounds are included in the Inventory of Gardens and Designed Landscapes in Scotland, the national listing of significant gardens.
