The North East Independent School District (commonly NEISD or North East ISD) is a school district located in San Antonio, Texas, United States. North East ISD serves the north central and northeast areas of Bexar County, covering approximately 132 square miles (340 km2). North East ISD serves the cities of Castle Hills, Hill Country Village, Hollywood Park, Windcrest, and portions of San Antonio, Balcones Heights, Terrell Hills, and Timberwood Park. Comalander Stadium is an 11,000-seat, open style football and soccer stadium in San Antonio, Texas. Built as North East Stadium in 1962, it was renamed to Comalander Stadium in 2000, for long time district athletic director Jerry Comalander. As a part of the Blossom Athletic Center, it is owned and operated by the North East Independent School District. Along with Heroes Stadium, the stadium is the home venue for the football, track and field, and band events for the high schools and middle schools in the district. Also, the Crossmen Drum and Bugle Corps host their spring training here annually in May and June. The playing surface was upgraded in 1998.

The Virgil T. Blossom Athletic Center is a multi-sport athletic complex owned by the North East ISD located in San Antonio, Texas. Best known for Comalander Stadium, a 10,952-seat football stadium, the center is also home to facilities for a number of other sports. The Josh Davis Natatorium, named for the former olympic swimmer, is a state-of-the-art, 1500-seat swimming facility. The Jimmy Littleton Gymnasium is a 5000-seat basketball, volleyball and wrestling facility. Additionally, there is an 18-court tennis center, two soccer fields, a baseball stadium, and track and field facilities.

Alamo Heights High School is a public high school located in the city of Alamo Heights, Texas and is the only high school in the Alamo Heights Independent School District.

Longhorn is a census-designated place in Bexar County, Texas, U.S.A. Longhorn was a company owned village or town owned by the Longhorn Cement Company created for employee housing in a distant community far north from San Antonio. The community once had its own store, post office and baseball field. Since then San Antonio has expanded north to completely surround what was company property. The village was vacated, closed down and abandoned when the company closed. The area no longer appears on maps, and is totally integrated into the City of San Antonio.

Heroes Stadium is an 11,000-seat, open style football stadium serving the public school district North East ISD in San Antonio, Texas, USA. It opened in 2009, built on the 58-acre (230,000 m2) site of the abandoned Longhorn Quarry, and has 2,525 paved parking spaces. $27.5 million of funding was provided by a 2007 school district bond. A video board system measuring 15 by 25 ft (4.6 by 7.6 m) was installed in 2010. Along with Comalander Stadium, Heroes is the home venue for the football, track and field, soccer, and band events for the high schools in the North East Independent School District, and also plays host to various athletic events for the district's middle and elementary schools. The stadium received national exposure on August 27, 2010, when it held a game between local Madison Mavericks and Steele Knights of Cibolo. The game was televised by ESPN, as part of its High School Rise Kickoff Event.The venue hosted the San Antonio Scorpions in their inaugural 2012 NASL season. The team played at the site to an average attendance of 9,176, including a couple of sellout crowds, while their stadium, Toyota Field, was being completed.

Fratt, Texas was a flag station and settlement in northeastern Bexar County, Texas, near the intersections of Interstate 35 and Loop 410 in San Antonio on the city's northeast side. It was founded shortly before 1900, and in the 1930s had amenities such as a store and church. The population had declined to 25 people by the late 1940s, and by the 1960s was so depopulated that it was no longer found on maps.

This battle should not be confused with the 1813 Battle of Rosillo Creek. The Battle of the Salado was a decisive engagement in 1842 which repulsed the final Mexican invasion of the Republic of Texas. Colonel Mathew Caldwell of the Texas Rangers led just over 200 militia against an army of 1,600 Mexican Army soldiers and Cherokee warriors, and defeated them outside of San Antonio de Bexar along Salado Creek. As a result of this action, French-Mexican commander General Adrián Woll retreated south and back into Mexico.
