Elder Mill, Romiley was a cotton spinning mill in Romiley, Stockport, Greater Manchester. It was taken over by the Lancashire Cotton Corporation in the 1930s and passed to Courtaulds in 1964.

Harrytown Catholic High School is a voluntary aided Catholic secondary school, situated in Romiley near Stockport, England. Designated as a Specialist Science College. Originally a convent school based at Harrytown Hall, it became a co-educational Catholic secondary school in 1978 and moved to new accommodation. The buildings have been modernised since and today Harrytown serves a wide catchment area, for seven feeder Catholic primary schools in the east of Stockport. The school has a house system, where houses compete with each other. Originally, the school had four houses named after the English Martyrs – Fisher, Campion, Moore and Beckett. This has now extended to six houses named after Saints linked to the school. The school is one of three Roman Catholic high schools in Stockport, and one of two within the Diocese of Shrewsbury in Stockport

Harrytown Hall is a former manor house in Bredbury, Stockport, England. The first hall was built in the 15th century by Harry Bruckshaw. In 1671, it was demolished and rebuilt by John Bruckshaw. John's initials were carved along with his wife's, Sarah, over the front door along with the year. The hall was built in a Gothic style, and it remains well-preserved.For many years the Bruckshaw's owned the estate, and later the Fosters and the Waltons, but in 1913 the hall became a convent school. In 1978, the school moved to new premises and became Harrytown Catholic High School. The building is now flats.

Chadkirk is an area in the Metropolitan Borough of Stockport in Greater Manchester, England. It is located between the River Goyt and the Peak Forest Canal south of Romiley, east of the A627 road. The site of a former print works on the right bank of the River Goyt is now occupied by Chadkirk Business Park. Chadkirk Country Estate has been designated as a Local Nature Reserve (LNR). Within it, the ancient woodlands of Kirk Wood and Little Wood have been declared Sites of Biological Importance (SBI).

The Works Recording Studio was a recording studio located in Stockport, Greater Manchester, UK between 1998 and 2007. Built in a Victorian rectory it was originally an analogue studio used by unsigned bands and fading stars of Manchester's rich musical scene including ex-members of The Smiths and The Stone Roses. In 2001 it installed a Pro Tools system, and then recorded albums for bands such as Amplifier, Oceansize, Inertia Blooms and Performance. In 2005 there was a bizarre 3 a.m. appearance by U.S. rap star Snoop Dogg who visited the studio after playing a concert, bringing an entourage of musicians, enormous bodyguards and a chef. The studio also branched out into making music videos. In 2007 "Super Producer" Timbaland used the studio whilst on tour with Justin Timberlake.

At the 2011 census, it had a population of 16,721.It is on the lower southern slopes of Werneth Low, an outlier of the Peak District between the valleys of the River Tame and River Goyt, head-waters of the River Mersey.

Bredbury railway station serves the town of Bredbury in the Metropolitan Borough of Stockport, Greater Manchester, England. It was built by the Sheffield and Midland Railway Companies' Committee in 1875, on the line between New Mills Central and Manchester London Road (since renamed Piccadilly). The station was modernised in 1976; the buildings on the eastbound side were replaced and the platforms were raised, with the result that the old waiting room on the Manchester side is three steps lower down. The original stationmaster's house survives, as does the 1916 footbridge.
