Ely Mill railway station

St David's Church, Fairwater is a Lutheran church in Fairwater, Cardiff, Wales. There has been a Lutheran community in central Cardiff since the 19th Century, but that in Fairwater is far more recent, forming only after new housing development in the post-war years. The church was designed by Vernon Kinch of Alex Gordon and Partners, and was completed in 1961. it belongs to the Evangelical Lutheran Church of England, and became a grade II listed building in 2007. Aside from some minor changes in joinery and the replacement of the original windows, the church is largely unaltered.

Cowbridge Road West (Welsh: Heol y Bontfaen Gorllewin) is a major road in western Cardiff, the capital of Wales and forms part of the A48 road. It divides the districts of Ely and Caerau and connects inner Cardiff to Culverhouse Cross and eventually the M4 motorway via the A4232. It also connects Cardiff ultimately to towns and villages such as Barry, Wenvoe, Cowbridge and Peterston-Super-Ely which can be accessed via the A48 from Culverhouse Cross. Ely Hospital was a large psychiatric hospital that closed in 1996 and has since been demolished. It was near to the fire station on Cowbridge Road West.

Ely is the name of an electoral ward in the west of the city of Cardiff, Wales, which covers its namesake community, Ely. The ward elects three county councillors to the County Council of the City and County of Cardiff. It has previously been represented by the Labour Party, until February 2019 when Plaid Cymru won one of the council seats.
