Phillip O. Berry Academy of Technology (also known as Berry or POB) is a magnet high school located in Charlotte, North Carolina. It is part of the Charlotte-Mecklenburg School System (CMS) and was opened in 2003. The mascot is a cardinal and the school colors are appropriately black and red (rarely, white and gold are thrown into the mix when more colors are necessary). The school is named after educational activist Phillip O. Berry (1940–1984). The overall mission statement is that education will be centered on a rigorous and relevant curriculum with focused human relations between students, parents, staff, and the community. Phillip O. Berry Academy of Technology has a student body of 1800–2000 students, housed in a 310,000-square-foot (29,000 m2) building. Berry Academy is the only school in Mecklenburg County to offer AP Earth/Environmental course to freshman students. Berry Academy is also recognized as one of the few full magnet high schools in CMS. The theme for the 2017–2018 school year is "Next Step Ready". Phillip O. Berry Academy of Technology and Harding University High School are both located on Alleghany Street. As rivals, whenever Berry Academy and Harding U face each other in a football game it is known as the "Battle of Alleghany". The school offers a rigorous and relevant technical curriculum that is divided into three career academies, where students place themselves based upon their interests: the Academy of Engineering, the Academy of Information Technology, and the Academy of Medical Sciences and Biotechnology. Programs not available at most other CMS high schools include: biotechnology, advanced biotechnology, oracle database programming, automotive, construction, civil and electrical engineering technology, and computer engineering technology. In the year 2010, Phillip O. Berry was named one of only six schools in the United States to win the National School Change Award due to significant improvement.

Savona Mill, also known as Savona Manufacturing Company, Alfred Cotton Mill, and Old Dominion Box Company, is a historic textile mill located at Charlotte, Mecklenburg County, North Carolina. The building consists of four sections, three of which are historic. They are the 1915-1916 Weave Mill, a one-story rectangular brick building with segmental arched head windows, a low gable roof with exposed beam ends and a wood clerestory monitor roof; the 1921 Spinning Mill, a three-story rectangular brick building with large rectangular steel windows; and the 1951 three-story Paper Warehouse addition. The Weave Mill was designed by Lockwood, Greene & Co.; Richard C. Biberstein designed the Spinning Mill.It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2014.The property is currently owned by an affiliate of Argos Real Estate Advisors, based in Charlotte, NC, and includes approximately 30 acres and 300,000 total square feet of improvements. Blue Blaze Brewing operates a 15-barrel production brewery with a tap room in an 8,000 SF building on the site.

Hoskins Mill is a historic cotton mill located at Charlotte, Mecklenburg County, North Carolina. It was built in 1903–1904, and is a rectangular brick building consisting of a three-story, main section with a one-story weaving room addition. The floor of the mill was used for weaving, the second for carding, and the third for spinning. Also on the property is a 1 1/2-story, rectangular brick office building. It was used as a mill through 1985.It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1988.

Camp Greene was a United States Army facility in Charlotte, North Carolina, United States during the early 20th century. In 1917, both the 3rd Infantry Division and the 4th Infantry Divisions were first organized and assembled at this camp.

Counter is a Michelin-starred restaurant in Charlotte, North Carolina, United States. They were also awarded the Michelin Green Star, an award for restaurants with sustainable practices, in 2025.

Bryant Park is an 8.7 acre urban park at 1701 West Morehead Street in the Historic Camp Greene neighborhood of Charlotte, North Carolina. It contains a softball field and a multi-purpose public field. In 2003 the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Historic Landmarks Commission designated Bryant Park as a historic landmark.The park was constructed in the 1930s as WPA project and is noted for its unique network of stone walls and stone seating above the softball fields. Built on land donated by prominent Charlotte developer E. C. Griffith, it was one of the first projects of the Charlotte Park and Recreation Commission.In the 1960s and 1970s, when the Charlotte Parks Commission was underfunded and mostly powerless, intense industrial development on West Morehead Street forced Bryant Park to give up much of its original space. Today the park is less than half its original size. Bryant Park remains the only public green space in Charlotte's West Morehead Street industrial sector.

Harding University High School is located at 2001 Alleghany Street, in Charlotte, North Carolina. It was established as a Math, Science, and Technology school in 1992, and added an International Baccalaureate to its program in 1995. The motto of the school has changed several times. It is currently: "Where Every Student Matters."

WGIV (1600 kHz) was a commercial AM radio station, licensed to Charlotte, North Carolina, and serving the Charlotte metropolitan area. It was the first station in the Charlotte radio market to target the African-American audience full time.

Wesley Heights Historic District is a national historic district located at Charlotte, Mecklenburg County, North Carolina. The district encompasses 335 contributing buildings in the former streetcar suburb of Wesley Heights. It was developed after 1911 and includes notable examples of Bungalow / American Craftsman, Colonial Revival, and Tudor Revival style architecture. Notable buildings include the Wesley Heights Methodist Episcopal Church (now Greater Bethel A. M. E. Church) designed by architect Louis H. Asbury, St. Mark's Baptist Church (formerly St. Andrew's Episcopal Church), Bomar Apartments (1928), and the Wadsworth House (1911) and Catawba Apartments also designed by Louis H. Asbury.It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1995.

Grinnell Company-General Fire Extinguisher Company Complex is a historic factory complex located at Charlotte, Mecklenburg County, North Carolina. It was built in 1929–1930, and consists of a two-story office building and massive tall, one-story Grinnell manufacturing building. The office building is a reinforced concrete structure, with a brick veneer, a flat roof, and a parapet capped in concrete coping. The manufacturing building has a poured concrete slab foundation, brick veneered walls, a steel framing system consisting of I-beam piers and heavy Pratt truss roof, banks of continuous, steel sash windows, and large, sawtooth monitors. The complex was built for the largest manufacturer of automatic sprinklers and other fire protection products in North America.It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2003.

Biddleville is the oldest surviving predominantly African-American neighborhood in Charlotte, North Carolina. It is located one mile west of Uptown and Interstate 77 along Beatties Ford Road. Biddleville is home to Johnson C. Smith University, a historically black college originally called the Henry J. Biddle Memorial Institute, that was formed shortly after the Civil War to educate aspiring black preachers and teachers. In 1876 it was renamed Biddle University. Biddleville arose as a supporting community of the Institute and was distinctly separate from Charlotte until it was annexed by the city in 1907.In 1908, the Biddle University Quintet was formed to tour and raise funds in emulation of the Fisk Jubilee Singers. In 1920 they recorded four spiritual sides for Pathé Records. In 1938 they replaced the Golden Gate Jubilee Quartet as regular performers on the Charlotte WBT radio station. From 1926 to 1929 the Biddleville Quintette recorded extensively for Paramount Records. It is not known whether the two groups are the same, or even connected.

Former Charlotte Coca-Cola Bottling Company Plant is a historic Coca-Cola bottling factory building located at Charlotte, Mecklenburg County, North Carolina. It was built in 1929–1930, and is a two-story, reinforced concrete building with a red brick veneer and decorative concrete detailing and Art Deco design elements. The building has a rectangular plan measuring 110 feet by 185 feet, parapet, and Coca-Cola bottles, sculpted of precast concrete, which crown the corner pilasters.It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1998.
