Execution of Elizabeth Cooper

The execution of Cicely Ormes took place in September 1558 at Lollard's Pit in Norwich, England. Ormes, a Protestant, was accused of heresy after she showed public support of Elizabeth Cooper and Simon Miller, two other Protestants accused of the same crime, during their own executions. Notably, Ormes was offered the possibility of staying quiet about her beliefs in return for her life, which she refused. She was sentenced to death under laws against heresy instituted by the third Parliament of Mary I, and as such was a victim of the Marian persecution. Ormes was the second of only two residents of Norwich to be burned at the stake as part of this persecution, the other being Cooper. The story of her execution is told in Foxe's Book of Martyrs.

Lollards Pit (TG 2406 0892), located just outside the old boundary of the English city of Norwich, England, was the place where Lollards, and later a number of Marian martyrs, were burned at the stake for heresy. The condemned would be led across Bishop Bridge—and thus outside of the nearby old city boundary—to be executed.

Bishop Bridge is a medieval bridge across the River Wensum located to the east of Norwich, England. It was built in 1340 and is still in use in the twenty-first century. A gatehouse, completed in 1343, was located on the bridge until 1791.

The record attendance for a match at The Nest was 25,037 for an FA Cup fifth-round tie against Sheffield Wednesday on 16 February 1935.

Pulls Ferry is a former ferry house located on the River Wensum in Norwich, Norfolk. It is a flint building and was once a 15th-century watergate. It was the route for the stone used to build Norwich Cathedral. The stone came from Caen up the rivers Yare and Wensum. A canal, specifically built by the monks, used to run under the arch, where the Normans ferried the stone and building materials to be unloaded on the spot. The building is named after John Pull, who ran the ferry across the Wensum from 1796 to 1841. It was previously known as Sandling's, after a seventeenth-century predecessor. The ferry operated until 1943.The ferry house adjoining the watergate was built in 1647. Both house and archway were restored in 1948-9 by Cecil Upcher.

St James' Pit is a 3.5-hectare (8.6-acre) geological Site of Special Scientific Interest in Norwich in Norfolk. It is a Geological Conservation Review site and part of Mousehold Heath Local Nature Reserve.This site has been designated because of its fossils of two genera of mosasaurs, large marine reptiles dating to the Upper Cretaceous.

The Great Hospital is a medieval hospital that has been serving the people of Norwich in Norfolk, England, since the 13th century. It is situated on a 7-acre (2.8 ha) site in a bend of the River Wensum to the north-east of Norwich Cathedral. Founded in 1249 by Bishop Walter de Suffield, the hospital was originally known as Giles's Hospital. What makes the hospital notable today is its history of continuous care, the range of existing medieval buildings on the hospital grounds (most of which are still in use), and the extensive archives that record the hospital's long history.

Foundry Bridge is a grade II listed stone and wrought iron bridge over the River Wensum in Norwich, England, carrying Prince of Wales Road, and linking Norwich railway station to the city centre. There have been three different bridge structures on the site. The first, completed in 1811, was made of timber and stone. This was replaced by a cast-iron bridge in 1844, and the current bridge was constructed in 1886.

Norwich railway station (formerly Norwich Thorpe) is the northern terminus of the Great Eastern Main Line in the East of England, serving the city of Norwich, Norfolk. It is 114 miles 77 chains (185.0 km) down the main line (measured via Ipswich) from London Liverpool Street, the western terminus.It is also the terminus of numerous secondary lines: the Breckland Line to Cambridge; the Bittern Line to Sheringham; and the Wherry Lines to Great Yarmouth and Lowestoft. The station is currently managed by Greater Anglia, which also operates the majority of the trains that serve the station. East Midlands Railway operates the services to Liverpool Lime Street via Nottingham, Sheffield and Manchester Piccadilly.
