West End Common is a 70.3-hectare (174-acre) Local Nature Reserve on the north-western outskirts of Esher in Surrey. It is owned and managed by Elmbridge Borough Council. It is part of Esher Commons, which is a Site of Special Scientific Interest.The common has wet areas, which have the rare flowering marsh plant starfruit, woodland with ancient oak and beech trees, and grassland. More than 2,000 species of insects have been recorded.There is access from West End Lane.

Hersham is a village in Surrey, within the M25. Its housing is relatively low-rise and diverse and it has four technology/trading estates. The only contiguous settlement is Walton-on-Thames, its post town. Hersham is served by Hersham and Walton-on-Thames railway stations with a minimum of two trains per hour and differing types of services on the South West Main Line. Two golf courses are within its bounds, Burhill Golf Club and Hersham Village Golf Club; considerable other land is wooded, used for mixed farming or Esher Rugby Club, much of which is Metropolitan Green Belt.

The Homewood is a modernist house in Esher, Surrey, England. Designed by architect Patrick Gwynne for his parents, The Homewood was given by Gwynne to the National Trust in 1999.

The Hundred of Elmbridge or Elmbridge/Emley Hundred was a geographic subdivision (called a "hundred") in the north of the county of Surrey, England. The majority of its area forms the modern Borough of Elmbridge, with the remainder forming part of the Royal Borough of Kingston upon Thames in Greater London.

Walton-on-Thames railway station is at the southern edge of the town of Walton-on-Thames in Surrey, England and borders Burwood Park, Hersham. It is 17 miles 6 chains (27.5 km) from London Waterloo and is situated between Hersham and Weybridge. The station's main entrance borders the Ashley Park area of the largely residential town and features a taxi rank and pick-up apron. The station opened as Walton for Hersham in 1838 and today has rush hour services two stops from central London. Only the two outer platforms on the slow lines are currently used. The central island platform is disused.

Claremont Landscape Garden, just outside Esher, Surrey, England, is one of the earliest surviving gardens of its kind of landscape design, the English Landscape Garden — still featuring its original 18th-century layout. The garden is Grade I listed on the Register of Historic Parks and Gardens.

West End is a neighbourhood or locality of Esher, Surrey, England centred 0.8 miles (1.3 km) south-west of the town centre. West End comprises a large green, pick-your-own farm with large garden centre, houses, small number of house conversion-style flats, a pub, a disused school building and chapel, grouped around a large green with a pond. It abuts West End Common, which is part of Esher Commons an outcrop of the Bagshot Formation of a subsoil of sands, peats and gravels, being the part of the Commons nearest the River Mole. The settlement became more than an archetypal hamlet in the mid-19th century with many of the houses dating from the Victorian period. West End is also home to a large garden centre - Garsons Garden Centre. The site also houses a farm shop, a children's playground and a pick your own field, particularly popular in summer. Next to Garsons, there is also a bathtub and swimming pool shop, Poolclean. The chapel has been converted to the West End Village Hall, which is used during school term time as the home of West End Playgroup & Forest School. West End Esher Summer Show, also known as West End Flower Show, takes place once a year on West End Common. It originated as a Flower Show more than 50 years ago and has developed into an annual show with many events and activities. There is another West End in Surrey, between Woking and Camberley.

Opened on 28 September 1936, Hersham railway station is on the London to Woking line and operated by South Western Railway. The station is 0.7 miles (1.1 km) north of Hersham village centre, adjoined to one side by housing and the other by fields and a golf course. It is 15 miles 73 chains (25.6 km) from London Waterloo and is situated between Esher and Walton-on-Thames.

Whiteley Village, in Hersham, Surrey, England, is a retirement village, much of it designed architecturally by Arts and Crafts movement-influenced architect Reginald Blomfield. It is owned by the charitable Whiteley Homes Trust and is on land which was once part of Walton Firs and Walton Heath, before the parish of Hersham was created in the 19th century.
