Five Fields is a modernist residential neighborhood in Lexington, Massachusetts developed starting in 1951. It consists of 68 half-acre (0.2 hectare) lots with modernist houses on an 80-acre site designed by The Architects Collaborative (TAC). Partners in charge from TAC were Norman Fletcher and Louis McMillen with Richard Morehouse as Senior Associate. A 20-acre portion is held in common and includes community facilities such as a swimming pool and playground. Five Fields was one of a series of "innovative contemporary housing developments" in Lexington, starting with Six Moon Hill (The Architects Collaborative, 1948), and then Five Fields (1951), Peacock Farm (Walter Pierce and Danforth Compton, 1952), and Turning Mill / Middle Ridge (Carl Koch, 1955). Several other modern housing developments were built later. Like the Case Study Houses in Los Angeles and the other Lexington developments, Five Fields was "intended as a corrective to the cheap historicism of many new developments". The development was established on the former Cutler dairy farm, near the Waltham line. Stone walls divided the area into five fields. To keep costs down, the houses were originally limited to three standard plans, which allowed the use of common, mass-produced components.

The Benjamin Wellington House is a historic house in Waltham, Massachusetts. The 2+1⁄2-story wood-frame house was built c. 1810 by Benjamin Wellington, and is one of the city's few Federal style house with brick end-walls. The house is a well-proportioned five bays wide and three deep, with paired chimneys on each of the gable ends. A single-story porch with Tuscan columns wraps around two sides of the house. The Wellingtons, early settlers of the area, only acquired this farmstead (with surrounding farmlands) by marriage in the early 19th century.The house was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1989.

The Amos Stearns House is a historic house in Waltham, Massachusetts. Built c. 1845, this 2+1⁄2-story wood-frame former farmhouse is a reminder of Trapelo Road's agricultural past. It has well-kept Greek Revival styling, including corner pilasters and an entablature with dentil moulding. A single-story porch wraps across the front and along one side; it has a similar entablature with dentil work. The house stands on property that was in the Stearns family from 1782 to 1941.The house was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1989. Its listing describes it as being at 1079 Trapelo Road.

The Franklin School is a historic former school building at 7 Stedman Rd. in Lexington, Massachusetts. Built in 1931, it is the only school built by the town in the period of the Great Depression. The Georgian Revival structure was designed by architects Kilham, Hopkins & Greeley. It served as a public school until 1985, when it was converted to the Franklin School Apartments. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2009.

Hardy Pond is a 45-acre (180,000 m2) pond located in Waltham, Massachusetts. Originally almost twice the size, in recent times the pond level was lowered in an inappropriate approach to controlling flooding. The quality of the water has degraded due to eutrophication caused by run-off from roads, fertilizers, and storm drain inputs. The pond is contiguous with 35 acres (140,000 m2) of adjoining wetlands. It is a popular site for bird sightings, with over 140 species listed.

The Wal-Lex Recreation Center, or simply Wal-Lex, was an entertainment complex located in Waltham, Massachusetts, which operated from 1947 until 2002. Considered a landmark in Waltham and the surrounding area, Wal-Lex consisted of a 60-lane candlepin bowling facility, a rollerskating rink, billiard tables, and video games. It also featured mini-golf until 1985. The name is a portmanteau of Waltham and Lexington, as the facility was located on Lexington Street in Waltham, not far from the town line where the road became Waltham Street in Lexington.

The Middlesex County Hospital was operated by Middlesex County from the 1930s until 2001. Its property straddles the towns of Waltham and Lexington, Massachusetts. Originally a tuberculosis hospital, it eventually became the county hospital for Middlesex until its closure. The property was sold and redeveloped into a condominium community. It is located near the old Metropolitan State Hospital, which was closed in 1992 and has also been redeveloped into housing.

The Nahum Hardy House is a historic house at 724 Lexington Street in Waltham, Massachusetts. The 2+1⁄2-story wood-frame house was built c. 1845, and is a well-preserved local example of a Greek Revival side-hall house. It has a fully pedimented gable end, a full entablature with dentil-like peg moulding, and a single-story porch with Tuscan columns (probably a later addition). The corner boards are pilastered. The house stands on land purchased by Nahum Hardy from Harvard College in 1839.The house was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1989.

The Elijah Fiske House is a historic house at 457 Lincoln Street in Waltham, Massachusetts. The two story brick house was built c. 1801, and is one of only three Federal style brick houses in the city. It is five bays wide and four deep, with entrances on the western and southern facades. The entrances are slightly recessed in an opening with a fanlight top. Luke Fiske, the second occupant (after his father Elijah, who built the house) was prominent in Waltham civic affairs, and was the first president of the Waltham Bank.The house was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1989.

The William Wellington House is a historic house in Waltham, Massachusetts. It was built in 1779 and added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1989. The house stayed in two families until somewhere around 1930 when it was acquired by Middlesex County Hospital. Prior to renovations, it had been abandoned for over 20 years.The home was purchased as part of a development of condominiums nearby now known as "Wellington Crossing". The developers donated the house along with $100,000 for its renovations to the city of Waltham in 2005. Renovations of the exterior were undertaken after some $367,000 were raised by the Waltham Historical Commission. Archie Bennett, director of the commission, said that William Wellington and his family were among the founding families of Waltham and that their Georgian home deserved attention.

The Wellington–Castner House is a historic house in Waltham, Massachusetts. The house was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1989.
