Glazebrook railway station serves the villages in the civil parish of Rixton-with-Glazebrook in the Warrington unitary authority in the ceremonial county of Cheshire, England. The station, and all trains serving it, are operated by Northern Trains. The station is 9.9 miles (16 km) west of Manchester Oxford Road on the Manchester to Liverpool Line.

Rixton-with-Glazebrook is a civil parish in the Borough of Warrington, Cheshire, England. Formerly within the historic county of Lancashire, it lies to the east of Warrington and is largely farmland. At the 2011 Census, the parish had a population of 1,960. Its main settlements are the villages of Glazebrook and Hollins Green, and Rixton hamlet. The parish was originally a township within Warrington parish before becoming a separate parish in 1866. It was part of the Warrington Poor Law Union and, from 1894, Warrington Rural District, and the District of Warrington from 1974. Glazebrook has a small housing estate, a post office and Glazebrook railway station. The station, on the Liverpool to Manchester southern route, marks the westernmost boundary of the Transport for Greater Manchester area. Glazebrook is about 6 miles (10 km) north-east of Warrington town centre; just east of the village is Cadishead, in Greater Manchester. Hollins Green, south of Glazebrook, is on the A57 Warrington–Manchester road. Rixton lies a short distance south-west of Hollins Green.The Manchester Ship Canal follows a stretch of the River Mersey which runs close to Hollins Green and forms the south-eastern parish boundary. The boundary in the north-east follows the Glaze Brook, which joins the Mersey just upstream of Hollins Green.

Hollins Green is a village on the eastern edge of Warrington, in the Warrington district, in the ceremonial county of Cheshire and formerly in the historic county of Lancashire, England. The village is in the civil parish of Rixton-with-Glazebrook; the ecclesiastical parish is Hollinfare.

Rixton Clay Pits (also known as Rixton Claypits) is a former clay extraction site in Rixton, near Hollins Green, Warrington, England. Formerly farmland, boulder clay extraction started in the 1920s for brick making in the adjacent brickworks and ceased in 1965 – since then it has been allowed to return to nature. It is now an area of ponds, scrub, woodland and damp grassland. It is owned and managed by Warrington Borough Council as a local amenity.Two large sections of Rixton Clay Pits, 15 hectares (37 acres) in total, are a Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI) and a designated Special Area of Conservation, on account of its calcareous grassland communities and because it supports the largest breeding population of Great Crested Newts in Cheshire. The whole was established as a local nature reserve in 1996, and has waymarked paths and a visitor centre.Fishing is permitted on the lake between the two sections of SSSI, and is controlled by the Warrington Anglers Association, the main stock being tench, bream and roach. Carp and pike are also present.

Cadishead and Little Woolden Moss is a nature reserve of the Wildlife Trust for Lancashire, Manchester and North Merseyside, an area of Chat Moss which is being restored to its former state of peatland.

Flow Moss was a short-lived, original railway station on the Liverpool and Manchester Railway south of Astley village in what was then the county of Lancashire, England.

Light Oaks Hall is a Grade II* listed building on Light Oaks Road, east of Glazebury, a village in the Metropolitan Borough of Wigan, Greater Manchester, England. Historically part of Lancashire, it is a significant example of early 17th-century domestic vernacular architecture and is now a private residence.

Risley Moss is an area of peat bog situated near Birchwood in Warrington, England. It is a country park, Site of Special Scientific Interest and a Local Nature Reserve. It covers an area of 210.5 acres (85.2 ha) and is one of the last remaining fragments of the raised bogs that once covered large areas of South Lancashire and North Cheshire.

Cadishead railway station was a railway station on the Cheshire Lines Committees Glazebrook East Junction to Skelton Junction Line serving the village of Cadishead, near Irlam, Greater Manchester. There were 2 stations that carried the name Cadishead, the first opened on 1 September 1873. It was an early closure however, being very close to Irlam railway station located 1 mile away, it closed on 1 August 1879. The second station that carried the name was built in 1892, and opened to passengers on 29 May 1893. It was also on the same line, however the need for the new station was due to the building of the Manchester Ship Canal which necessitated the line to be deviated and built up from Glazebrook East Junction to clear the new ship canal. Under the regrouping the station remained as part of CLC up until 1948. It served the local steel works and other local industries, with people travelling every day from Timperley and beyond. By 1959 the station's patronage was falling: only 60 people a week were using it. At this time only 11 trains called at the station in the direction of Liverpool (via Glazebrook East Junction) although most only went as far as Warrington Central, and the other 6 towards Stockport. It was already being touted for closure by the BTC around 1959, although it managed to survive another five years.The station finally closed for good on 28 November 1964, as it had been named along with the other two stations on the line in Beeching's 1963 report. The line through the station however lasted as a goods only line until 1983 when extensive repairs to the Cadishead Viaduct were required. This track was then lifted in the late 1980s and left to decay. The station at Cadishead is still extant however, although heavily overgrown and in a sorry state of repair.

St Werburgh's Church is the name of two separate churches in the village of Warburton, Greater Manchester, England. The older church is located to the west of the village, and may date back as far as the middle of the 13th century. It is now a redundant church but services are held in the summer months. The church is recorded in the National Heritage List for England as a designated Grade I listed building. The authors of the Buildings of England series call this church "a lovable muddle".The newer church was built in 1883–85 and is located to the southeast of the village on the A6144 road. It is a Grade II listed building. It is an active Anglican parish church in the diocese of Chester, the archdeaconry of Macclesfield and the deanery of Bowdon. Its benefice is combined with that of St Peter, Oughtrington.The dedication is an unusual one, ordinarily local to Chester, where Werburgh is the patron saint. Werburgh, an Anglo-Saxon saint who has given her name to Warburgtune, as Warburton was called in the Domesday survey (1086), was the daughter of Wulfhere, the first Christian king of Mercia. She died around AD 700 as Abbess of Ely, with the care of several nunneries. Her relics were moved to the abbey of St Peter and St Paul in Chester, which was later rededicated to St Werburgh.

Glazebury and Bury Lane is a closed railway station between Liverpool and Manchester.The station opened on 15 September 1830 by the Liverpool and Manchester Railway as Bury Lane, being renamed Glazebury and Bury Lane in 1878. The station closed on 7 July 1958.

Warburton is a village and civil parish within the Metropolitan Borough of Trafford in Greater Manchester, England. Historically in Cheshire, Warburton lies on the south bank of the River Mersey between the borough of Warrington and Greater Manchester. In the 21st century, the village remains predominantly rural. Altrincham is the nearest town. According to the 2001 census, the parish had a population of 286.Warburton has a history of settlement stretching back to the 11th century, with the possibility of earlier habitation. There are 17 listed buildings in the village, including the timber framed Grade I Church of St Werburgh, which is at least 700 years old. Among the other listed buildings are examples of architect John Douglas' work, including the second Church of St Werburgh, built in 1883. In 2006, Time Team excavated in the lands of Moss Brow Farm in Warburton, looking for a Roman fortlet. However, no evidence of a fortlet was found and the previously identified 'punic' ditch turned out to be the remains of an 18th-century hedgerow.
