Temple School was a boys secondary modern in Strood, in England. It closed in 2009 along with Chapter Girls School when Strood Academy was opened.

20 Gun Lane is a Grade II listed 19th-century building in the town of Strood, in the Medway unitary authority of Kent, England. It was constructed in 1856 as a charnel house (mortuary building) for the adjacent St Nicholas churchyard. Historic England describes the structure as built in an Italianate style of the mid‐Victorian period, using red brick with ragstone dressings and a Welsh slate hipped roof. The building's two‐storey rear (toward the churchyard) and single‐storey front (street) elevations feature round‐headed arches, pilasters, and recessed panelled bays characteristic of its design. Its official listing on 2 December 1991 notes this unusual purpose and fine brickwork as reasons for its designation.

The Royal Oak is a Grade II-listed house (formerly a public house, or "pub") in Frindsbury, a Medway town in Kent, United Kingdom. The building dates from the late 17th century and it was used as a public house since before 1754. It is one of a few pre-Victorian buildings on Cooling Road in Frindsbury and one of the last remaining coach houses in the area. The two-storey timber-framed building was remodelled throughout the 18th and 19th centuries, with extensions in the 19th and 20th centuries, while the pre-1840 parts of the building remain intact to the present day. The pub was sold by Enterprise Inns to a property developer in 2015 who closed the pub and proposed demolition. The "Save The Royal Oak, Frindsbury" campaign opposed its demolition, and the pub was subsequently registered as an asset of community value by Medway Council and as a Grade II listed building by Historic England in 2016. In early 2017, the campaign was seeking funding to try and to buy the pub to reopen it for the community; the developer was subsequently granted planning permission in June 2017 to convert the building into residential use. It was subsequently converted to a house, with additional housing built next door.

Rochester and Strood is a constituency in Kent represented in the House of Commons of the UK Parliament since 2015 by Kelly Tolhurst, a Conservative. Since 2022, she has served as Government Deputy Chief Whip and Treasurer of the Household.

Strood railway station serves the town of Strood in Medway, England. It is on the North Kent Line and is also a terminus of the Medway Valley Line. It is 31 miles 11 chains (50.1 km) down the line from London Charing Cross. Train services are operated by Southeastern and Thameslink.

Rochester Bridge railway station served Rochester and Strood in Kent, England. It was opened as Strood by the London, Chatham and Dover Railway in 1860. After several name changes and the merger of the LC&DR into the South Eastern and Chatham Railway, it closed as Rochester Bridge in 1917. It lay derelict until it was demolished in the late 1960s in preparation for widening of the A2 road, which opened in 1970, its bridge of the River Medway using the piers of the southern span of the railway bridge.

Strood (1st) (locally known as and marked on old maps as The Old Terminus) was a terminus of the South Eastern Railway located in Strood and serving also the towns of Chatham and Rochester. It closed for passengers in 1856 when the present Strood station was opened. The site was then used as a sidings yard until around 1990. It is now occupied by housing development and industrial units.

Rochester-upon-Medway was a local government district in north Kent, England from 1974 to 1998. It covered Rochester, Chatham, Luton, Lordswood, Walderslade, Strood and the Hoo Peninsula.The district was formed as the District of Medway under the Local Government Act 1972 on 1 April 1974, as a merger of the municipal borough and city of Rochester, the borough of Chatham and most of Strood Rural District. The district council was granted a charter entitling it to be known as the Borough of Medway, and preserving the mayoralties of Rochester and Chatham.

Strood Rural District was a rural district in the county of Kent, England. It was subject to boundary reforms in 1934 and 1935. Frindsbury Extra is a civil parish divided into commercial, suburban residential and rural parts on the Hoo Peninsula in Medway, a ceremonial part of Kent. It is contiguous with the fully urbanised Frindsbury part of Strood and is bounded by Cliffe and Cliffe Woods to the north, Hoo to the east, and the River Medway to the south-east at Upnor (or Upnor-on-Medway) and a long, narrow meander of the river in the far south. On Medway Council it has councillors representing the Strood Rural ward currently on almost identical boundaries.

The Thames and Medway Canal is a disused canal in Kent, south east England, also known as the Gravesend and Rochester Canal. It was originally some 11 km (6.8 mi) long and cut across the neck of the Hoo peninsula, linking the River Thames at Gravesend with the River Medway at Strood. The canal was first mooted in 1778 as a shortcut for military craft from Deptford and Woolwich Dockyards on the Thames to Chatham Dockyard on the Medway, avoiding the 74 km (46 mi) journey round the peninsula and through the Thames estuary. The canal was also intended to take commercial traffic between the two rivers.

Submarine U-475 Black Widow was a Soviet Navy submarine of the Cold war period, which is now in private hands. It is currently moored at Strood, on the River Medway, in South-East England.
