Strood (1st) (locally known as and marked on old maps as The Old Terminus) was a terminus of the South Eastern Railway located in Strood and serving also the towns of Chatham and Rochester. It closed for passengers in 1856 when the present Strood station was opened. The site was then used as a sidings yard until around 1990. It is now occupied by housing development and industrial units.

Strood railway station serves the town of Strood in Medway, England. It is on the North Kent Line and is also a terminus of the Medway Valley Line. It is 31 miles 11 chains (50.1 km) down the line from London Charing Cross. Train services are operated by Southeastern and Thameslink.

Rochester Bridge in Rochester, Medway was for centuries the lowest fixed crossing of the River Medway in South East England. There have been several generations of bridge at this spot, and the current "bridge" is in fact four separate bridges: the Old Bridge and New Bridge carrying the A2 road, Railway Bridge carrying the railway and the Service Bridge carrying service pipes and cables. The bridge links the towns of Strood and Rochester in Medway. All except the railway bridge are owned and maintained by the Rochester Bridge Trust.

The Rochester Guildhall is an historic building located in the High Street in Rochester, Kent, England. It is a Grade I listed building.

The George Vaults (formerly the George Inn) at 35 High Street in Rochester, Kent, is a public house built over a remarkable early 14th-century vaulted undercroft. The undercroft dates to circa 1320–1325 and is of exceptional historical importance, giving the building its Grade II* listing. The present three-storey brick pub front (added in the late 18th/19th century) features a central glazed double door and large windows at street level, with a Venetian window on the first floor. The pub is situated just below Rochester Castle and Cathedral on the old High Street – a location that aligns with the medieval street plan of Roman Watling Street.

Rochester Bridge railway station served Rochester and Strood in Kent, England. It was opened as Strood by the London, Chatham and Dover Railway in 1860. After several name changes and the merger of the LC&DR into the South Eastern and Chatham Railway, it closed as Rochester Bridge in 1917. It lay derelict until it was demolished in the late 1960s in preparation for widening of the A2 road, which opened in 1970, its bridge of the River Medway using the piers of the southern span of the railway bridge.

Hayward House is an early 19th-century almshouse at 1–8 Corporation Street in Rochester, Kent, England. Designed by Robert Baker and completed in 1823, it originally housed aged "industrious poor" from St Nicholas parish. A red-brick Georgian-style block of three storeys with a symmetrical 3–1–3 bay front, it remains a Grade II listed building. Today Hayward House is managed by the Richard Watts Charities and provides six self-contained flats.

Frindsbury is part of the Medway Towns conurbation in Kent, southern England. It lies on the opposite side of the River Medway to Rochester, and at various times in its history has been considered fully or partially part of the City of Rochester. Frindsbury today is part of the town of Strood and covers the most northern part of the town. Frindsbury refers to both a parish and a manor. Within the civil parish of Frindsbury Extra are the villages of Frindsbury, Wainscott, and Upnor. Frindsbury was also the name given to an electoral ward in the City of Rochester that straddled the parishes of Frindsbury and Strood.

Rochester-upon-Medway was a local government district in north Kent, England from 1974 to 1998. It covered Rochester, Chatham, Luton, Lordswood, Walderslade, Strood and the Hoo Peninsula.The district was formed as the District of Medway under the Local Government Act 1972 on 1 April 1974, as a merger of the municipal borough and city of Rochester, the borough of Chatham and most of Strood Rural District. The district council was granted a charter entitling it to be known as the Borough of Medway, and preserving the mayoralties of Rochester and Chatham.

The Corn Exchange is a commercial complex in the High Street, Rochester, Kent, England. The complex, which was commissioned as a corn exchange and is now used as an events venue, is a Grade I listed building.

Rochester Common was a station on the Chatham Extension from Strood serving the town of Rochester. The station was opened by the South Eastern Railway which merged with the London, Chatham and Dover Railway to form the South Eastern and Chatham Railway in 1899. After the merger the SE & CR deemed that the Chatham Extension was an unnecessary duplication of the line and stations that it inherited from the LC & DR, and therefore the Extension and its stations, including Rochester Central (as it was then named), was closed in 1911. The station was demolished soon after closure and the site of the station later became sidings for Rochester Freight Depot until c. 1990.. Since closure the whole area has been redeveloped erasing any trace of the railway. The track layout was remodelled so that only the South Eastern Railway's bridge over the River Medway was used, and that layout is still there in the present day Chatham Main Line route. The London, Chatham and Dover Railway's bridge lay unused and then derelict until it was rebuilt in the 1960s to be the eastbound carriageway for a widened A2 road bridge which opened in 1970.

All Saints, Frindsbury, is a parish church serving the combined parish of Frindsbury with Upnor and Chattenden. The church dates from 1075 and lies in the north-west corner of the Medway Towns, historically part of Kent, England. It is a Grade II* listed building, National Heritage List number 1107886.
