Lakeview School is located at 8635 SE 68th St. on Mercer Island in Seattle, USA. It was built in 1918. At its inception, the school was built to house eight grades of Mercer Island students. The school was co-founded by Eleanor Wolf and Marienne "Nuki" Vinal Fellows who are credited with starting the Mercer Island Nursery School Association, a non-profit organization, in 1957.Fellows ran Sunnybeam School, the nursery school located within Lakeview, for thirty years. She retired in 1984 and was an honorary board member until her death in 2009. The school was purchased by the South Mercer Community Club in 1945 and in 1972 was renamed as Sunnybeam School. It continues to operate as Sunnybeam today.Lakeview School was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1988. The listing includes the two-room frame schoolhouse with pedimented portico and rear wing; and the teacher's cottage on the northwest corner of the property.

Kennydale is a neighborhood in Renton, Washington, in the United States. As of 2008, it had an estimated population of 4,840. It lies along the southeastern shore of Lake Washington and straddles Interstate 405 which runs north-south between Renton and Bellevue, and borders the Newport Shores neighborhood of Bellevue. The part of the neighborhood on the lake (west) side of I-405 is referred to as "Lower Kennydale", and on the east side "Upper Kennydale". Lower Kennydale is situated on land which slopes from I-405 to a shoreline on Lake Washington that forms a westward bulge terminating at Coleman Point. This configuration affords a 180° over-water view of the I-90 East Channel bridge (4 miles distant) and the skyscrapers in downtown Bellevue (7 miles) to the north, the south end of Mercer Island (less than 1 mile) and the Rainier Beach neighborhood of south Seattle (3 miles) to the east, and the large Renton Boeing plant at the south end of Lake Washington (3 miles) to the south. Kennydale was one of many communities laid out in the Seattle area between 1898 and 1910 by real estate developer Clarence Dayton Hillman (1870–1935). Hillman would typically buy large tracts of land cleared by logging and sell it as lots. Kennydale was one of his first land developments and was started in 1898 as the "Lake Washington Garden of Eden". He named Kennydale for his wife Bessie, whose maiden name was "Kenny."In late 2005, Barbee Mill, a lumber mill on Kennydale's Lake Washington waterfront that had been inactive since 2002, auctioned off its equipment and began building demolition and land remediation. It was the site of a planned subdivision. The sale of the land was finalized in September 2006 and construction began on the development of the community of 114 luxury townhouses by longtime Eastside builder, Conner Homes Co.On May 7, 2006, the Seattle Seahawks of the National Football League announced plans to construct a new team headquarters and training facility on land already owned by team owner Paul Allen in the Kennydale neighborhood on a parcel of land near the former Barbee Mill along Lake Washington. Construction began in October 2006 and the facility was completed in the summer of 2008.

The Virginia Mason Athletic Center (VMAC) is the headquarters and practice facility of the NFL's Seattle Seahawks, in Renton, Washington, a suburb southeast of Seattle. A privately funded facility, it is situated on 19 acres (77,000 m2) of industrial property on the southeastern shore of Lake Washington. The team holds mini-camps and training camp here. Beginning with the 2009 season, the Seahawks opened their training camp to the public. The site is bounded by Interstate 405 to the east, Lake Washington to the west, residential properties to the north and open land area to the south. Its southern boundary is located approximately quarter-mile (400 m) north of NE 44th Street. The Eastside Rail Corridor trail runs adjacent to the facility, and connects the area with north Renton and Factoria in Bellevue.

The Cedar River is a river in the U.S. state of Washington. About 45 miles (72 km) long, it originates in the Cascade Range and flows generally west and northwest, emptying into the southern end of Lake Washington. Its upper watershed is a protected area called the Cedar River Watershed, which provides drinking water for the greater Seattle area. The Cedar River drains into Puget Sound via Lake Washington and the Lake Washington Ship Canal.

The Will Rogers–Wiley Post Memorial Seaplane Base (FAA LID: W36) is a seaplane base in Washington state. It is owned and operated by the city of Renton and located on Lake Washington at the northwest corner of Renton Municipal Airport, inside the latter's perimeter fence. The base was named after actor Will Rogers and aviator Wiley Post who took off from the water landing at the beginning of a trip to Alaska, during which they were ultimately killed in an air crash.

Southport is a mixed-use development in Renton, Washington, United States. It is located on the southern shore of Lake Washington adjacent to the Renton Landing lifestyle center and the Boeing Renton Factory.

The Boeing Renton Factory is the Boeing Company's manufacturing facility for narrow-body commercial airliners, and their military derivatives. Current production includes the Boeing 737 MAX passenger airliner and the Boeing P-8 Poseidon military patrol aircraft. The factory covers 1,100,000 square feet (100,000 m2) of floor space. The factory lies adjacent to Renton Municipal Airport.

Lakeridge is a hillside neighborhood near Lake Washington located mostly in unincorporated Skyway/West Hill in King County, Washington and partially in the southeast portion of the City of Seattle's Rainier Beach neighborhood. Its boundaries extend from Seattle's Rainier Beach neighborhood on the north, to Lake Washington on the east, to unincorporated Bryn Mawr on the southeast and unincorporated Skyway on the southwest.

Newport is a neighborhood in Bellevue, Washington. It comprises the Newport Shores district along the Lake Washington shore, and the Newport Hills/Lake Heights areas east of Interstate 405.Much of Newport west of Interstate 405 was annexed by Bellevue in 1957. Most of Newport east of Interstate 405 was annexed later, in 1993.

Mercer Island High School (MIHS) is a public high school located in Mercer Island, Washington, United States, as part of the Mercer Island School District. As of the 2018–19 school year, the school had an enrollment of 1,552 students and 77.5 classroom teachers (on an FTE basis), for a student–teacher ratio of 20.0:1. There were 44 students (2.8% of enrollment) eligible for free lunch and 13 (0.8% of students) eligible for reduced-cost lunch.

KMIH (88.9 FM) is a high school radio station broadcasting an adult album alternative format. Licensed to Mercer Island, Washington, United States, the station is currently owned by Mercer Island School District, with studios at Mercer Island High School. This station is one of three high school radio stations in the Seattle Metro area, the other two being KNHC, and KASB. KMIH also services as the only FM service licensed to the City of Mercer Island and as such is used as one of the primary emergency communication methods for the city.
