Kennydale is a neighborhood in Renton, Washington, in the United States. As of 2008, it had an estimated population of 4,840. It lies along the southeastern shore of Lake Washington and straddles Interstate 405 which runs north-south between Renton and Bellevue, and borders the Newport Shores neighborhood of Bellevue. The part of the neighborhood on the lake (west) side of I-405 is referred to as "Lower Kennydale", and on the east side "Upper Kennydale". Lower Kennydale is situated on land which slopes from I-405 to a shoreline on Lake Washington that forms a westward bulge terminating at Coleman Point. This configuration affords a 180° over-water view of the I-90 East Channel bridge (4 miles distant) and the skyscrapers in downtown Bellevue (7 miles) to the north, the south end of Mercer Island (less than 1 mile) and the Rainier Beach neighborhood of south Seattle (3 miles) to the east, and the large Renton Boeing plant at the south end of Lake Washington (3 miles) to the south. Kennydale was one of many communities laid out in the Seattle area between 1898 and 1910 by real estate developer Clarence Dayton Hillman (1870–1935). Hillman would typically buy large tracts of land cleared by logging and sell it as lots. Kennydale was one of his first land developments and was started in 1898 as the "Lake Washington Garden of Eden". He named Kennydale for his wife Bessie, whose maiden name was "Kenny."In late 2005, Barbee Mill, a lumber mill on Kennydale's Lake Washington waterfront that had been inactive since 2002, auctioned off its equipment and began building demolition and land remediation. It was the site of a planned subdivision. The sale of the land was finalized in September 2006 and construction began on the development of the community of 114 luxury townhouses by longtime Eastside builder, Conner Homes Co.On May 7, 2006, the Seattle Seahawks of the National Football League announced plans to construct a new team headquarters and training facility on land already owned by team owner Paul Allen in the Kennydale neighborhood on a parcel of land near the former Barbee Mill along Lake Washington. Construction began in October 2006 and the facility was completed in the summer of 2008.

Lakeview School is located at 8635 SE 68th St. on Mercer Island in Seattle, USA. It was built in 1918. At its inception, the school was built to house eight grades of Mercer Island students. The school was co-founded by Eleanor Wolf and Marienne "Nuki" Vinal Fellows who are credited with starting the Mercer Island Nursery School Association, a non-profit organization, in 1957.Fellows ran Sunnybeam School, the nursery school located within Lakeview, for thirty years. She retired in 1984 and was an honorary board member until her death in 2009. The school was purchased by the South Mercer Community Club in 1945 and in 1972 was renamed as Sunnybeam School. It continues to operate as Sunnybeam today.Lakeview School was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1988. The listing includes the two-room frame schoolhouse with pedimented portico and rear wing; and the teacher's cottage on the northwest corner of the property.

Newcastle is an Eastside city in King County, Washington, United States. The population was 10,380 at the 2010 census and an estimated 12,292 in 2019.Although Newcastle was not incorporated until 1994, it has been an important settlement and town since the late 19th century and played a major role in the development of Seattle and the surrounding region. Newcastle was one of the region's first coal mining areas and its railroad link to Seattle was the first in King County. Timber also played a role in the early history of Newcastle. Coal delivered by rail from Newcastle's mines to Seattle fueled the growth of the Port of Seattle and attracted railroads, most notably the Great Northern Railway. The Newcastle coal mine began producing coal by the 1870s. More than 13 million tons of coal had been extracted by the time the mine closed in 1963. The history of Newcastle's coal mining industry and the legacy of the mines' many Chinese laborers are memorialized in place names such as Coal Creek, Coal Creek Parkway, and the Coal Creek and China Creek golf courses. Based on per capita income, Newcastle ranks 11th of 522 areas in the state of Washington to be ranked. In CNN Money's 2011 rankings of best places to live in the United States, Newcastle was in the top 20, along with nearby Sammamish. It ranked 17th in Newsweek's 2009 rankings of best places to live in the United States.

Newport is a neighborhood in Bellevue, Washington. It comprises the Newport Shores district along the Lake Washington shore, and the Newport Hills/Lake Heights areas east of Interstate 405.Much of Newport west of Interstate 405 was annexed by Bellevue in 1957. Most of Newport east of Interstate 405 was annexed later, in 1993.

Located in Mercer Island, Washington, Northwest Yeshiva High School is the state's only accredited, co-ed, college preparatory, dual-curriculum Jewish High School.

Southport is a mixed-use development in Renton, Washington, United States. It is located on the southern shore of Lake Washington adjacent to the Renton Landing lifestyle center and the Boeing Renton Factory.

Lake Boren is located just south of downtown Newcastle, Washington. Lake Boren Park is located on its southwestern shore.

The Boeing Renton Factory is the Boeing Company's manufacturing facility for narrow-body commercial airliners, and their military derivatives. Current production includes the Boeing 737 MAX passenger airliner and the Boeing P-8 Poseidon military patrol aircraft. The factory covers 1,100,000 square feet (100,000 m2) of floor space. The factory lies adjacent to Renton Municipal Airport.

The Cedar River is a river in the U.S. state of Washington. About 45 miles (72 km) long, it originates in the Cascade Range and flows generally west and northwest, emptying into the southern end of Lake Washington. Its upper watershed is a protected area called the Cedar River Watershed, which provides drinking water for the greater Seattle area. The Cedar River drains into Puget Sound via Lake Washington and the Lake Washington Ship Canal.

The Will Rogers–Wiley Post Memorial Seaplane Base (FAA LID: W36) is a seaplane base in Washington state. It is owned and operated by the city of Renton and located on Lake Washington at the northwest corner of Renton Municipal Airport, inside the latter's perimeter fence. The base was named after actor Will Rogers and aviator Wiley Post who took off from the water landing at the beginning of a trip to Alaska, during which they were ultimately killed in an air crash.

Newport High School (NHS) is a public high school in Bellevue, Washington. It serves students in grades 9–12 in the southern part of the Bellevue School District, including the neighborhoods of Eastgate, Factoria, Newport Hills, Newport Shores, Somerset, The Summit, and Sunset. As of the 2017–18 school year, the principal is Dion Yahoudy. The mascot is the Knight, and the school colors are scarlet and gold.

Pacific Coast Company House No. 75, also known as Baima House, is a private residence in Newcastle, Washington. Built in 1880 or earlier, it was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1979. The house is the only surviving structure associated with the early development of coal mining at Newcastle and is an example of the type of housing in which miners lived.
