Cardinia Reservoir is an Australian man-made water supply saddle dam reservoir. The 287,000 ML (63 billion imp gal; 76 billion US gal) water store is located in Emerald–Clematis–Dewhurst in south-eastern suburbs of Melbourne, Victoria. Construction started in May 1970 and was completed in 1973 at a cost of more than A$11.4 million. The dam that creates the impoundment is called the Cardinia Dam.

Cardinia Dam Power Station is a small hydroelectric power station at Cardinia Reservoir near Melbourne, Australia. It is located at the outlet of the 12.5-kilometre (7.8 mi) pipeline transferring water from Silvan Reservoir. It is capable of producing 3.5 megawatts (4,700 hp) of electricity and is owned by Pacific Energy.

Dewhurst is a bounded locality in Victoria, Australia, 48 km south-east of Melbourne's Central Business District, located within the Shire of Cardinia local government area. Dewhurst recorded a population of 151 at the 2021 census.

Berwick Grammar School (BGS) is the senior boys campus of St Margaret's and Berwick Grammar School, located in Officer, Victoria, Australia. The St Margaret's senior girls campus and co-educational junior school are both located in Berwick. The head of campus is Steven Middleton, with the current school principal being Annette Rome. BGS has approximately 180 enrolled students and is part of the Victorian School of Performing Arts. Berwick Grammar School was opened by then Governor of Victoria, David de Kretser, on 9 November 2009. Between the years 2009 (the foundation year of the school) and 2014, the school progressively expanded from offering years 5 to 7, to eventually becoming a year 5 to 12 school. In 2016, it was announced that by 2018 the Year 5 and 6 classes would be relocated to the St Margaret's junior school campus in Berwick, to focus on co-educational opportunities within the junior school.

Narre Warren East is a small town located just outside of the Melbourne metropolitan area in Victoria, Australia, 38 km south-east of Melbourne's central business district, located within the Shire of Yarra Ranges local government area. Narre Warren East recorded a population of 434 at the 2021 census.Despite its name, Narre Warren East is actually located in a north-easterly direction from Narre Warren North. Officer is a suburb of Melbourne, Victoria, Australia, 48 km south-east of Melbourne's Central Business District and the second most populous in the Shire of Cardinia after Pakenham. Officer recorded a population of 18,503 at the 2021 census.Officer serves as the Council seat of the shire. Most of the land around Officer is currently being developed for residential use with medium density housing. Population and demographic mixes are changing, with construction of a 4,000 lot housing estate to be completed in late 2019. Current estates that have been announced and under construction include: Timbertop, Arcadia, Kaduna Park, Savannah, Officer Fields and Officer Central.

Berwick College is a co-educational, public school for years 7 to 12 situated in the outer Melbourne metropolitan suburb of Berwick. It was once the largest single campus government secondary college in Victoria. In 2006 the school started downsizing with the majority of a block of portables removed. The school consists of approximately 1500 students and 200 teachers, principals and aides. At the state election in 2006, the Victorian Labor Party canvassed plans to build a junior campus of Berwick Secondary in the Timbarra Estate. This school would serve students in years seven to nine. The campus had been proposed, at past state elections, to act as a stand-alone campus. These ideas, however, were later rejected by the Government due to feasibility concerns. Berwick College has been subject to an act of student violence on school grounds. On 21 August 2019 police were called to Berwick Secondary College about 1.30pm after reports that about 15 to 20 students were involved in a fight resulting in the arrest of three students aged between 14 and 16.

Emerald is a town in the Greater Melbourne area of Victoria, Australia, 44 km south-east of Melbourne's Central Business District, located within the Shires of Cardinia and Yarra Ranges local government areas. Emerald recorded a population of 5,890 at the 2021 census.Emerald also includes Cardinia Reservoir, Melbourne's second largest reservoir.

Emerald railway station is situated on the Puffing Billy Railway in Victoria, Australia. It was opened with the Railway on 18 December 1900 and comprised a platform track and a loop siding.

Menzies Creek is a township in Victoria, Australia, 40 km east of Melbourne's Central Business District, located within the Shires of Cardinia and Yarra Ranges local government areas. Menzies Creek recorded a population of 966 at the 2021 census.Menzies' Creek Post Office opened on 2 May 1887 and closed in 1980.Menzies Creek railway station opened on 18 December 1900 with the opening of the Gembrook line. The station name was changed to Aura on 5 December 1904—while the Post Office remained Menzies Creek—but reverted to Menzies Creek on 4 July 1947. The area is named after James Menzies, a gold digger in the 1860s, who worked the area for many years and is believed to be buried locally.
