St Peter's Dyrham

Dyrham Park () is a baroque English country house in an ancient deer park near the village of Dyrham in South Gloucestershire, England. The house, with the attached orangery and stable block, is a Grade I listed building, while the park is Grade II* listed on the National Register of Historic Parks and Gardens. The current house was built for William Blathwayt in stages during the 17th and early 18th centuries on the site of a previous manor house, with the final facade being designed by William Talman. It contains art works and furniture from around the world, particularly Holland, and includes a collection of Dutch Masters. The house is linked to the 13th-century church of St Peter, also Grade I listed, where many of the Blathwayt family are buried. The house is surrounded by 274 acres (111 ha) of formal gardens, and parkland which used to support a herd of fallow deer. The grounds, which were originally laid out by George London and later developed by Charles Harcourt Masters, include water features and statuary. The house and estate are now owned by the National Trust and underwent extensive renovation in 2014 and 2015. They are open to the public on some days and host events and attractions, including open-air concerts. They have also been used as a location for film and television productions.

South Gloucestershire is a unitary authority area in the ceremonial county of Gloucestershire, South West England. The southern part of its area falls within the Greater Bristol urban area surrounding the city of Bristol. South Gloucestershire was created in 1996 to replace the Northavon district of the abolished county of Avon. It is separate from Gloucestershire County Council, but is part of the ceremonial county and shares Gloucestershire's Lord Lieutenant (the Sovereign's representative to the county). Because of its history as part of the county of Avon, South Gloucestershire works closely with the other unitary authorities that took over when that county was abolished, including shared services such as Avon Fire and Rescue Service and Avon and Somerset Police, together with co-operation in planning strategy for transport, roads and housing.

The Chronicle depicts the battle as a major victory for Wessex's forces, led by Ceawlin and one Cuthwine, resulting in the capture of the Romano-British towns of Glevum (Gloucester), Corinium Dobunnorum (Cirencester), and Aquae Sulis (Bath).

West Littleton is a village and former civil parish, now in the parish of Tormarton, in the South Gloucestershire district, in the ceremonial county of Gloucestershire, England. It is located between the M4 and the A420. The closest amenities are in Marshfield and the historic city of Bath is a short distance to the south. The stately home, Dyrham Park, is located a few hundred metres from the village. In 1931 the parish had a population of 65.West Littleton shot to international attention as being the hideout retreat for Hugh Grant at the time of his alleged affair with a Los Angeles prostitute. The world's press descended upon this charming little village and camped outside Grant's house. The village boasts approximately 25 houses and has a population of around 50 inhabitants. There is a working farm, a red telephone box and a church. The Beaufort Hunt regularly uses the village green as a starting point for their hunts though this has been somewhat curtailed due to the recent legislation banning fox hunting. West Littleton is considered a gem of a village with a farming background. Some houses in the village date back to the 15th century with some possibly even back to the 14th. On 1 April 1935 the parish was abolished and merged with Tormarton.

Cold Ashton is a village in South Gloucestershire, England. It is located 5 miles (8.0 km) north of Bath, near the junction between the A46 and A420 roads. The village church has a 14th-century tower and the rest of the church was rebuilt in the 16th century by Thomas Key, its rector. It had a population of 221 according to the 2011 census. In the 1870s, Cold Ashton was described as A parish in Chipping-Sodbury district, Gloucester; on the verge of the county, under the Cotswolds, 5¾ miles N of Bath r. station. It includes the village of Pennsylvania; and its Post Town is Marshfield under Chippenham. Acres, 2,300.Now, Cold Ashton is described asA small village which, due to its setting, exhibits an air of tranquillity and pleasant isolation. The stone-walled main street together with the close alignment of the manor house, the Old Rectory and the courthouse, give the village an intimate character.

Codrington is a settlement in South Gloucestershire, England. It is located near Junction 18 of the M4 motorway south of Wapley and Yate. Codrington is a hamlet situated alongside the B4465 road. It was formerly in the civil parish of Wapley-cum-Codrington in the hundred of Grumbald's Ash. It is now in Dodington parish, under the administration of the unitary authority of South Gloucestershire. It had one pub, the Wishing Well, which was formerly the Codrington Arms. The pub was linked to the Codrington Family, who used to be based at Codrington Court before moving to nearby Dodington Park. The area also has a Baptist church in Wapley Road. Now the area is best known for its golf course on the outskirts called The Players Club. The hamlet is mentioned in Lemon Jelly's "Ramblin' Man".

Dodington is a village and civil parish in South Gloucestershire, England. The village lies in a small, fertile valley between Codrington and Old Sodbury, and runs together with the even tinier hamlet of Coombes End. It is about 2.5 miles southeast of Chipping Sodbury and four miles from Yate railway station. The River Frome rises within Dodington Park, the estate that originally formed the economic basis of this small village. The Cotswold Way also passes through the north end of the village. The River Boyd rises just south of the village. In addition to the rural area around the village, the parish nowadays encompasses substantial housing areas to the south of Yate and Chipping Sodbury, the latter being the location of Dodington Parish Hall.

Dodington Park is a country house and estate in Dodington, South Gloucestershire, England. The house was built by James Wyatt for Christopher Bethell Codrington (of the Codrington baronets). The family had made their fortune from sugar plantations in the Caribbean and were significant owners of slaves. It remained in the Codrington family until 1980; it is now owned by the British businessman James Dyson. The estate comprises some 300 acres of landscaped park with woods, lakes, lodges, a dower house, an orangery, a church, and a walled kitchen garden. Formal gardens adjoin the main house. The house is Grade I listed on the National Heritage List for England and the landscaped park is Grade II* listed on the Register of Historic Parks and Gardens. The dower house, orangery, and St Mary's Church which all adjoin the house are also each individually Grade I listed, as is the Bath lodge at the southern part of the estate.The wall, railings and gate piers near the Bath lodge are listed Grade II. Chippenham Lodge and its terrace walls and the northern gateway to Dodington Park are listed Grade II*. The gates and walls surrounding the kitchen garden toward the north of the park are listed Grade II, as is the Garden Cottage.
