The Canton of Aubagne-Est is a former canton located within the administrative department of Bouches-du-Rhône in southern France. It was created 27 February 2003 by the decree 2003-156 of that date. It had 40,778 inhabitants (2012). It was disbanded following the French canton reorganisation which came into effect in March 2015. Elected to represent the canton in the General Council of Bouches-du-Rhône : Roland Giberti (Nouveau Centre, 2004-2014)

The Canton of Aubagne-Ouest is a canton located within the administrative department of Bouches-du-Rhône in southern France. It was created 27 February 2003 by the decree 2003-156 of that date. It had 41,357 inhabitants (2012). It was disbanded following the French canton reorganisation which came into effect in March 2015. It consisted of 2 communes, which joined the new canton of Aubagne in 2015.Elected to represent the canton in the General Council of Bouches-du-Rhône : Daniel Fontaine (PC, 2001–2008)

Aubagne (French pronunciation: [oˈbaɲ], Aubanha in Occitan according to the classic norm or Aubagno according to the Mistralian norm) is a commune in the southern French department of Bouches-du-Rhône. In 2020, the commune was awarded three flowers by the National Council of Towns and Villages in Bloom in the Competition of cities and villages in Bloom.

Aubagne station (French: Gare d'Aubagne) is a railway station serving the town of Aubagne, Bouches-du-Rhône department, southeastern France. It is situated on the Marseille–Ventimiglia railway. The station is served by regional trains (TER Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur) to Marseille and Toulon.The station will be the centre of a planned tram network. The first line is complete and runs from the station to Le Charrel. A second line to Auriol and La Bouilladisse, named Val’Tram, is scheduled for operation in 2025.

The Foreign Legion Museum (French: Musée de la Légion étrangère) situated in Aubagne, France, represents the history and "arms history" accomplishments (French: faits d'armes) of the Foreign Legion throughout the course of various collections and expositions. The museum welcomes numerous visitors (almost 25,000 per year), as well as scholars and temporary expositions.

The French Foreign Legion (French: Légion étrangère) is a corps of the French Army that consists of several specialties: infantry, cavalry, engineers, airborne troops. It was created in 1831 to allow foreign nationals into the French Army. It formed part of the Armée d’Afrique, the French Army's units associated with France's colonial project in Northern Africa, until the end of the Algerian war in 1962.Legionnaires are highly trained soldiers and the Legion is unique in that it is open to foreign recruits willing to serve in the French Armed Forces. The Legion is known today as a unit whose training focuses on traditional military skills and on its strong esprit de corps, as its men come from different countries with different cultures. Consequently, training is often described as not only physically challenging, but also very stressful psychologically. Legionnaires may apply for French citizenship after three years' service, or immediately after being wounded during a battle for France under a provision known as "Français par le sang versé" ("French by spilled blood").

The Agglomeration community of Pays d'Aubagne et de l'Étoile (French: Communauté d'agglomération du pays d'Aubagne et de l'Étoile) is a former intercommunal structure joining the communes near Aubagne in the Bouches-du-Rhône and Var departments in the Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur region of Southeastern France. It was created in December 1999. On 1 January 2016 it became a territory in the Aix-Marseille-Provence Metropolis.

La Royante is a bastide (country manor) located in the town of Aubagne in Provence, between Cassis and Aix-en-Provence on the south side of Garlaban mountain. It displays typical 18th-century Provençal architecture including a remarkable Gothic chapel. Mentioned on old maps as "the castle of the bishop", the property currently hosts a guesthouse. It was the center of historical research for Heritage Days in 2011.

Carnoux-en-Provence (French pronunciation: [kaʁnu ɑ̃ pʁɔvɑ̃s]; Occitan: Carnós de Provença), commonly referred to simply as Carnoux, is a commune in the Bouches-du-Rhône department in the Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur region in Southern France. It was created in 1966 from the commune of Roquefort-la-Bédoule. In 2018, Carnoux-en-Provence had a population of 6,564. Carnoux-de-Provence is located 16.3 km (10.3 mi) to the east-southeast of Marseille. Camp de Carpiagne, the garrison for the 1st Foreign Cavalry Regiment and formerly 1st-11th Cuirassier armoured (tank) regiment of the French Army, is found in the town's western part, as well as with territory in the 9th arrondissement of Marseille, Aubagne and Cassis, north of the renowned road from Marseille to Cassis.

Garlaban is a hill which looks out to Aubagne. The summit is 715 metres high although its highest point is the butte des pinsots (731 m). It can be seen from most of the southern part of Bouches-du-Rhône, from Marseille to the valley of Huveaune, through to the motorway in Toulon and the one in Aix-en-Provence. In the past, seamen from Marseille used to look to it to find direction.

Roquefort-la-Bédoule (French pronunciation: [ʁɔkfɔʁ la bedul]; Occitan: Ròcafòrt e la Bedola) is a commune in the Bouches-du-Rhône department in the Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur region in Southern France. Its inhabitants are called Bédoulens (masculine) and Bédoulennes (feminine). In 2018, Roquefort-la-Bédoule had a population of 5,896.
