Rivieren Castle (Dutch: Kasteel ter Rivieren; French: Chateau Rivieren) is a twelfth-century castle in Ganshoren, Brussels, Belgium. Rivieren Castle is situated at an elevation of 40 meters.Originally a defence tower, the present-day castle was built in different phases from the twelfth to the nineteenth century. Originally a possession of the Clutinck (Clutinc/Clutinckx) family, the castle later changed ownership several times until it finally was sold in 1973. Today, the castle is used for conferences, receptions, expositions and similar kinds of events. The Castle ter Rivieren is located in a park of 10 hectares.

The National Basilica of the Sacred Heart (French: Basilique Nationale du Sacré-Cœur, Dutch: Nationale Basiliek van het Heilig-Hart) is a Roman Catholic Minor Basilica and parish church in Brussels, Belgium. The church is dedicated to the Sacred Heart, inspired by the Basilique du Sacré-Coeur in Paris. Symbolically, King Leopold II laid the first stone of the basilica in 1905 during the celebrations of the 75th anniversary of Belgian Independence. The construction was halted by the two World Wars and finished only in 1969. Belonging to the Metropolitan Archdiocese of Mechelen–Brussels, it is one of the largest churches by area in the world. Located in the Parc Elisabeth atop the Koekelberg hill at the border between Brussels' Koekelberg and Ganshoren municipalities, the church is popularly known as the Koekelberg Basilica (French: Basilique de Koekelberg, Dutch: Basiliek van Koekelberg). The massive brick and reinforced concrete church features two thin towers and a green copper dome that rises 89 metres (292 ft) above ground, dominating Brussels' north-western skyline. It is served by Simonis metro station on lines 2 and 6 of the Brussels Metro.

Ganshoren (French: [ɡansɔʁən, -ʁɛn], Dutch: [ˈɣɑnsˌɦoːrə(n)] (listen)) is one of the 19 municipalities of the Brussels-Capital Region, Belgium. Located in the north-western part of the region, it is bordered by Jette, Koekelberg, and Sint-Agatha-Berchem, as well as the Flemish municipality of Asse. In common with all of Brussels' municipalities, it is legally bilingual (French–Dutch). On 1 January 2006, the municipality had a total population of 20,970. The total area is 2.46 km2 (0.95 sq mi) which gives a population density of 8,541/km2 (22,120/sq mi). In 2018, Pierre Kompany was elected mayor of Ganshoren. He is the first black mayor in Belgium, and the father of footballer Vincent Kompany.

Bruneau is a restaurant in Brussels, Belgium which has garnered a Michelin star, as well as an 18/20 rating from Gault-Millau. The chef was Jean-Pierre Bruneau, 74 years old in 2017. The restaurant was taken over by a former sous-chef Maxime Maziers and reopened in June 2018. It was renamed Bruneau by Maxime Maziers. Jean-Pierre Bruneau left his restaurant in Brussels on 22 January 2018. For the last service he prepared the famous Soupe VGE for his customers. The restaurant opened in March 1975, and was awarded a Michelin star in 1977. It retained the star till 1982, when the restaurant was awarded a second star. In 1988 the rating went up to three Michelin stars. It retained the three stars for sixteen years, until 2004, when it went back to two stars. In 2010 it lost its second star, leaving it with just one star.Daniel Rose is a former Bruneau apprentice.

Jette railway station is a railway station in the municipality of Jette in Brussels, Belgium opened in 1892. The station is located south of the King Baudouin park on the Cardinal Mercier square, on the Belgian railway line 50 between the Bockstael and Berchem-Sainte-Agathe railway stations.Nearby the railway station is the Jette station STIB/MIVB stop, which offers a connection with the Brussels tram route 19 as well as the bus routes 53 and 88.

The Dielegembos (Dutch) or Bois de Dieleghem (French) is a public forest in the municipality of Jette in Brussels, Belgium. It covers an area of 9 hectares (22 acres) and was acquired by the municipality in 1952. Along with the Poelbos and the Laarbeekbos, the Dielegembos is an integral part of the regional King Baudouin Park.The forest is located between the Avenue Jean Joseph Crocq/Jean Joseph Crocqlaan, the Rue Bonaventure/Bonaventurestraat, the Avenue du Heymbosch/Heymboschlaan, the Avenue Henri Liebrecht/Henri Liebrechtlaan, and the Avenue Jacques Swartenbrouck/Jacques Swartenbroucklaan.

Elisabeth Park (French: Parc Elisabeth; Dutch: Elisabethpark) is an urban public park in the municipality of Koekelberg in Brussels, Belgium. It is served by the interconnected Simonis and Elisabeth metro stations on lines 2 and 6 of the Brussels Metro.

Karreveld Castle (French: Château du Karreveld, Dutch: Kasteel Karreveld) is a castle-farm in Molenbeek-Saint-Jean, a municipality of Brussels, Belgium. The castle and surrounding park are used for cultural events and meetings of the municipal council. This site is served by Osseghem/Ossegem metro station on lines 2 and 6 of the Brussels Metro.

Molenbeek-Saint-Jean Cemetery (French: Cimetière de Molenbeek-Saint-Jean, Dutch: Begraafplaats van Sint-Jans-Molenbeek) is a cemetery belonging to the municipality of Molenbeek-Saint-Jean, Brussels, Belgium, where the municipality's inhabitants have the right to be buried. It is located at 539, Chaussée de Gand/Gentsesteenweg, in the west of the municipality. The ensemble extends over 1.5 hectares (3.7 acres). The cemetery was inaugurated on 16 August 1864 to replace the old parish cemetery around the Church of St. John the Baptist, which had become too small, and whose last remains were cleared in 1932. Today, it concentrates a considerable protected heritage, including funeral galleries and a columbarium initially imagined for Laeken Cemetery and built in 1880, as well as several chapels.

The Katholieke Universiteit Brussel (English: Catholic University of Brussels) was a Flemish university located in Brussels, founded in 1969 as University Faculties St Aloysius (UFSAL), in many ways the equivalent of a liberal arts college. It split up from the primarily French-speaking Saint-Louis University, Brussels to become an independent Dutch-speaking institution. It became recognised as a university by the Flemish Community of Belgium in the early 1990s. It only ever awarded basic undergraduate degrees, which in the older Belgian system of a four-year licenciate meant students had to go on to other universities to complete their courses of study. In the late 1990s, as a result of politically fuelled doubts about the university's survival, student levels fell drastically, with a knock-on effect on government funding. In 2007 the university merged with a number of other tertiary institutions in Brussels (see Hogeschool-Universiteit Brussel (HUB, European University College Brussels)), and then had a separate existence only as a legal fiction for accreditation and funding purposes. In 2013, the academic degrees of the KUB were integrated in the Catholic University of Leuven.

René Magritte Museum (French: Musée René Magritte, Dutch: René Magritte Museum) is a museum in Jette, a municipality in Brussels, Belgium, devoted to the Belgian surrealist painter René Magritte. The museum is located at 135, rue Esseghem/Esseghemstraat, in the house where Magritte lived and worked for 24 years, between 1930 and 1954.The ground floor of the house there is an apartment where Magritte and his wife Georgette lived, whereas the first and the second floors display the biographical exposition.Magritte and his wife moved in 1954 to a bigger apartment in Schaerbeek, which, as they thought, was in better agreement with their social status. The testament of Magritte's wife, however, indicated that the house in Jette is the most important for the biography of Magritte. In 1993, André Garitte, an art collector and a fan of Belgian surrealism, bought the house, restored it, and in 1998, celebrating 100 years of Magritte, the museum was open to the public. In 2009, the museum reopened after an extensive restoration.
