Shellharbour, New South Wales

The City of Shellharbour is a local government area in the Illawarra region of New South Wales, Australia. The city is located about 100 kilometres (62 mi) south of Sydney and covers the southern suburbs of the Wollongong urban area centred on Shellharbour and it had an estimated population of 68,460 at the 2016 census. The area is bordered by the City of Wollongong to the north, with the boundary being the Lake Illawarra entrance (and the suburb of Lake Illawarra) and Macquarie Rivulet (Albion Park Rail). The Municipality of Kiama is to the south of the City of Shellharbour. The mayor of the Shellharbour City Council is Cr. Chris Homer.

Shell Cove is a seaside suburb in the Shellharbour area located just south of Wollongong, New South Wales, Australia. Shell Cove adjoins Bass Point and Killalea State Park and includes a variety of facilities and amenities such as: parks and bush reserves, The Links Golf Course, Shell Cove Public School & pre-schools, Shellharbour Anglican College, Family Health Medical Centre and of course The newly developed Shell Cove Marina.

Warilla High School is a government-funded co-educational comprehensive secondary day school, located in Barrack Heights, a suburb of the City of Shellharbour, in the Illawarra region of New South Wales, Australia.Established in 1965, the school caters for approximately 1,250 students in 2018, from Year 7 to Year 12, of whom eight percent identified as Indigenous Australians and 16 percent were from a language background other than English. The school is operated by the NSW Department of Education.

Barrack Heights is surrounded by the suburbs of Barrack Point, Blackbutt, Mount Warrigal, Oak Flats, Shellharbour, Shellharbour City Centre and Warilla.

Flinders is a southern suburb of Shellharbour, located in the Illawarra region of New South Wales, Australia. Flinders is located approximately 111 kilometres south-southwest of New South Wales' capital city of Sydney. Flinders is close to a number of beaches and to and over 60 hectares of green open spaces including bush reserves, waterways and landscaped parks. Flinders adjoins neighbouring suburbs of Shellharbour, Shell Cove, Blackbutt and Shell Heights. The area is served by the Shellharbour Junction railway station which replaced the previous Dunmore railway station on 22 November 2014 . It was initially intended to call the new station Flinders. Premier Illawarra operates one bus route between Flinders and the railway station, namely route 52 to Shellharbour Junction railway station.

Barrack Point is a seaside suburb of the City of Shellharbour, New South Wales, Australia which sits within the southern Wollongong urban area. Surrounding suburbs are Warilla to the north, Barrack Heights to the west, and Shellharbour to the south.The Surfrider Caravan Park is found here opposite Shellharbour Beach.

Shellharbour Junction railway station is a railway station located at Dunmore, New South Wales, Australia, on the Illawarra railway line. The station is served by NSW TrainLink South Coast Line trains traveling south to Kiama and north to Wollongong and Sydney. Premier Illawarra operates a connecting bus service from the station to Shellharbour.

Shellharbour Anglican College is a co-educational Anglican school operated by the Sydney Anglican Schools Corporation. It opened in 2004 and accommodates pupils from Preschool to Year 12. The college operates in new, mostly permanent buildings in a semi-rural setting off Shellharbour Road, Dunmore. The school is located in Shellharbour, New South Wales, Australia. Shellharbour Anglican College currently has over 850 students.

Blackbutt is a southern suburb of Shellharbour, New South Wales, Australia. The eastern half of the suburb is occupied by the Blackbutt Forest Reserve. The suburb was named after the blackbutt tree, Eucalyptus pilularis.

Warilla is a seaside suburb of the City of Shellharbour, Australia within the Wollongong urban area. It is one of the more established areas and is between the suburbs of Mount Warrigal in the west, Barrack Heights and Barrack Point in the south and Lake Illawarra in the north.

Bass Point Reserve is a heritage-listed former cedar timber industry, Aboriginal camping, meeting place, pastoral property and basalt mine and now nature conservation and passive recreation area located at Boollwarroo Parade, Shell Cove in the City of Shellharbour local government area of New South Wales, Australia. It is also known as Long Point. The property is owned by Department of the Environment and Shellharbour City Council. It was added to the New South Wales State Heritage Register on 18 January 2013.
