The Curtiss-Wright Hangar, also known as Owens Field Municipal Airport Hangar, is an historic hangar located at Jim Hamilton – L.B. Owens Airport, Columbia, South Carolina. Built in 1929 by Curtiss-Wright, it consists of a central metal-clad barrel roofed storage area flanked on either side by flat-roofed wings.It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1998.In 2018, the restoration of the hangar was completed and the Hunter-Gatherer Brewery began serving a variety of craft beers and specialty foods.

Williams–Brice Stadium is the home football stadium for the South Carolina Gamecocks, the college football team representing the University of South Carolina in Columbia, South Carolina. It is currently the 16th largest on-campus college football stadium in the NCAA and is located on the corner of George Rogers Boulevard and Bluff Road adjacent to the South Carolina State Fairgrounds. Carolina football teams consistently attract standing-room-only crowds to Williams–Brice Stadium. The atmosphere on game days has been voted "the best" by SECsports.com, and has been noted as being among the loudest environments to play in by opposing players. The stadium has been the site of many concerts, state high school football championships, and various other events. It hosted the annual Palmetto Capital City Classic between Benedict College and South Carolina State University until the last game in 2005. The stadium is sometimes called "The Cockpit" by Gamecock fans and local media, and the name has been commonly used by these groups since at least the early 1970s when the university held a fund-raising campaign to raise money for an AstroTurf playing surface, called "Carpet the Cockpit".

The South Carolina State Fair is an annual 12-day state fair held in Columbia, South Carolina and operated by the State Agricultural and Mechanical Society of South Carolina. North American Midway Entertainment caters rides, food, and games for the fair. The fair is South Carolina's largest recurring event, attracting over 400,000 fairgoers annually.

Lyles-Gudmundson House is a historic landmark home located in Columbia, South Carolina. It was built between 1918 and 1922, and is a two-story Classical Revival style brick dwelling. The home was a wedding gift for Evelyn Robertson Lyles, the daughter of Edwin Wales Robertson. A banker who is credited with much of Columbia's early twentieth century development, Robertson commissioned New York City architect James Brite to design his daughter's home as part of his Wales Garden neighborhood. Brite - a native North Carolinian who died in 1942 - was also the architect of The Braes in Glen Cove, New York and the famous Darlington Mansion near Mahwah, New Jersey. Construction began in 1918, but was delayed because of difficulty in obtaining materials from Europe. It features the iconic semicircular side portico with four two-story high fluted marble columns and a full entablature.The 6,000 square foot home features a pool and courtyard, all-original windows, four wood-burning fireplaces, and 10-foot ceilings. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1979. The home was constructed during the 1918 Influenza pandemic (1918-1920), and was recently sold in May 2020 during the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic to the third family to own the home in nearly a century.

Heslep House is a historic home located at Columbia, South Carolina. It built about 1927, and is a two-story Spanish Mission Revival style stuccoed house. It features round-headed windows, arches, balconies, sun decks, a square tower, sculptural portal and barrel tile roof.It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1979.

Sarge Frye Field was a baseball stadium in Columbia, South Carolina and served as home field of the University of South Carolina Gamecock baseball team until the 2008 season. The stadium held 6,000 people and was named after a longtime grounds keeper of the school's athletic fields. On February 21, 2009, USC began playing at the new Carolina Stadium. The last game at Sarge Frye was played on May 17, 2008. The field was named after Weldon B. "Sarge" Frye on May 11, 1980. It was demolished in 2010.

Building at 303 Saluda Avenue, also known as John C. Heslep House, is a historic home located at Columbia, South Carolina. It was built about 1917 as a two-story brick residence, then remodeled and rebuilt in the Spanish Colonial Revival style in 1927–1928. It features a low-pitched tile roof, coarse stucco walls, and cast iron balconies. Also on the property is a contributing guest house.It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1982.

Wallace-McGee House is a historic home located at Columbia, South Carolina. It built in 1937, and is a two-story International style stuccoed house. It features large areas of glass, a flat roof and a steel and reinforced concrete structural system. The front façade features a two-car garage topped by a sun deck. The house is based on plans by Edward Durell Stone published in Collier's Magazine on March 28, 1936.It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1979.

Florence C. Benson Elementary School, also known as Wheeler Hill School and the Benson Building, is a historic school building for African-American students located at Columbia, South Carolina. It was built in 1953–1955 in Wheeler Hill, a segregated African-American neighborhood, as an "equalization school." The one-story, three-finger plan school, is built of concrete block with a red brick veneer and reflects influences of the Modern and International styles. The school housed 18 classrooms. The school closed in 1975.It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2009.

A. Fletcher Spigner House, also known as the Spigner-Wilson-Seibels House and Hanner House, is a historic home located at Columbia, South Carolina. It was built in 1920, and is a 2+1⁄2-story double-pile, rectangular frame residence in the Tudor Revival style. It has a one-story, central front portico, a red terra cotta tile roof, and faux half-timbering with a finish of stucco on the second floor. Also on the property is a 1+1⁄2-story garage. It was built for A. Fletcher Spigner, a prominent Columbia attorney, State Senator, and South Carolina's Fifth Circuit Solicitor.It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2009.

Eugene E. Stone III Stadium is a soccer stadium located in Columbia, South Carolina on the campus of the University of South Carolina. The 5,000 seat ground is home to the USC Gamecocks soccer teams since 1981, when the Gamecocks started the men's program in 1978. The current grandstand was built in 1996 thanks to a $1 million grant from Eugene E. Stone III, a Carolina graduate. The nickname "the Graveyard" comes from the stadium's proximity to the House of Peace cemetery. The women's team plays in the Southeastern Conference, while the men's team moves from Conference USA to the Sun Belt Conference effective with the 2022 season. Men's soccer is not sanctioned by the SEC; Carolina and the other SEC men's soccer school, Kentucky, played in C-USA from 2005 through 2021, and moved together to the Sun Belt in 2022.
