The Dartmoor Way is a long-distance footpath and cycle route centred on the Dartmoor National Park in southern Devon, England. The loop route of approximately 84 miles (135 km) that encompasses upland and moorland walking, deep Devon lanes, and also passes through towns and villages such as Okehampton, Chagford, Moretonhampstead, Buckfastleigh, Princetown and Tavistock.The Dartmoor Way links with the Tarka Trail, West Devon Way and Two Castles Trail.

Bellever Tor is a granite tor in the centre of Dartmoor, England. It provides panoramic 360 degree views and is located near Bellever Forest and the popular village of Bellever. There are numerous Kists and Cairn Circles on its slopes.

Hexworthy is a hamlet on Dartmoor, in Devon, England. It lies on the West Dart River a mile upstream from Dartmeet. Historically in the parish of Lydford, since 1987 it has been in the civil parish of Dartmoor Forest. Hexworthy has an inn, the Forest Inn, opened in the 1850s.Very close to the village, on the opposite bank of the West Dart, is the hamlet of Huccaby, which has a parish church with an unusual dedication to St Raphael.There was a long history of tin mining near Hexworthy. Tin works in the valley of the O Brook were first recorded in 1240, and the Henroost or Hexworthy Mine did not close until 1919.

Bellever is a hamlet in Dartmoor, Devon, England. It is located on the river East Dart about 2 kilometres (1 mi) south of Postbridge. The first mention of a settlement at this location is in a Duchy of Cornwall record from 1355 which gives the name of a farm here as Welford, a contraction of wielle (spring) and ford. However, in his High Dartmoor (1983), Eric Hemery proposed that the name comes from bal (mine) and ford, meaning the mine by the ford. Until the period after World War II the hamlet consisted of Bellever Farm (owned by the Duchy of Cornwall) and its outbuildings, with a small number of cottages for the farm workers. The farm gained a reputation for the introduction of Galloway and Aberdeen Angus cattle onto Dartmoor. However, in 1931 the Forestry Commission, now Forestry England bought the farm and began a large planting scheme here; several houses were built in the 1950s to house the forestry workers. The coniferous plantation known as Bellever Forest surrounds the hamlet on its north, west and south sides. In 1934 some of the barns of Bellever Farm were let to Youth Hostels Association (England & Wales) and now form the oldest, still functioning youth hostel in Devon.As of 2019 the hamlet is served by a daily bus service that runs between Yelverton, Princetown, Postbridge and Tavistock. During the summer Forestry England run a small visitor centre by the East Dart river.Bellever Tor lies 1.5 kilometres (1 mi) to the southwest.

The O Brook is a short tributary of the West Dart River on Dartmoor in Devon, England. It lies near the village of Hexworthy, and the lower part of the stream forms the boundary between the parishes of Holne and Dartmoor Forest (formerly Lydford). An earlier form of the name was Ocbroke, and it may mean "Oak Brook", although oaks are rare in the area.The area around the stream is notable for its historic tin mines. A rock formation on the stream bank, known as the Dragon's Den, gave rise to the legend of the Dragon of the O Brook.

Pixieland is in Dartmoor National Park, Devon and is a visitor attraction, garden gnome manufacturer and retailer. It was founded by Ken Ruth in 1947. It has gardens free of charge for visitors which are full of the gnomes, pixies and other fantasy creatures that have been made on the premises since its founding. Pixieland is on the site of Dartmoor's 'Pixies Holt', an historical place for legends of pixie sightings. The figures continue to be sold in the shop and are hand-made mainly using moulds of the original 1947 gnomes. From the 1960s, they started to sell Devon sheepskin products in order to supplement the seasonal nature of the business.

The East Dart River is one of the two main tributaries of the River Dart in Devon, England. Its source is to the west of Whitehorse Hill and slightly south of Cranmere Pool on Dartmoor. It flows south and then south-west for around 9 km to reach the village of Postbridge where it is spanned by a well-known clapper bridge. Just above Postbridge the river drops around 2 metres in a short distance and the point is referred to as "Waterfall". It continues south past Bellever to Dartmeet where it joins the West Dart.

Dartmeet is a popular tourist spot in the centre of Dartmoor, Devon, England at grid reference SX672731. It lies at the end of the B3357 road, about 4.5 miles (7.2 km) east of Two Bridges. From here, the road continues eastwards as a minor road with restrictions on the size of vehicles, past Poundsgate and over Holne Bridge and New Bridge to Ashburton on the edge of the moor. Immediately east of the river crossing, this road ascends Dartmeet Hill, a long steep hill that climbs 130 metres (430 ft) up the valley side. As the name suggests, Dartmeet is the meeting point of the two major tributaries of the River Dart: the East Dart and West Dart. The road bridge, built in 1792, spans the East Dart; just above it, at the side of the large carpark is an earlier, possibly medieval, clapper bridge, now partially collapsed. The actual confluence of the two rivers is just downstream of the bridge. Dartmeet is the official put in for the Upper Dart section of the River Dart for whitewater kayakers and canoeists.

Postbridge is a hamlet in the heart of Dartmoor in the English county of Devon. It lies on the B3212, roughly midway between Princetown and Moretonhampstead. Postbridge is next to the East Dart river, one of two main tributaries of the River Dart, and consists of a few houses, a shop, a pub and hotel, and a national park tourist information centre. Postbridge is best known for its fine example of an ancient clapper bridge over the river. First recorded in the 14th century, the bridge is believed to have been built in the 13th century to enable pack horses to cross the river, carrying tin to the stannary town of Tavistock. The clapper bridge, a Grade II*-listed structure, is still complete, and stands alongside another bridge, a Grade II-listed structure built in the 1780s.The settlement is also infamous for the ghost story of the Hairy Hands, which takes place near the village.

Combestone Tor is a granite tor on Dartmoor, England. It is 356 metres (1,168 ft) above sea level. The tor is considered a popular destination for tourists.
