Janina Porazińska Park is an urban park in Warsaw, Poland. It is located in the neighbourhood of Solec in the Downtown district, between Kruczkowskiego, Solec, and Ludna Streets, and Trzeciego Maja Avenue. The park was opened in 2011.

The Science Picnic is Europe's largest outdoor science-popularization event organized jointly by Polish Radio and the Copernicus Science Centre. It has been held every year since 1997. A wide range of research fields are represented at the Picnic, including the hard, natural, and social sciences together with the humanities. Research and teaching institutions from Poland and abroad reveal here behind-the-scenes aspects of their work and present science in ways accessible to visitors of various ages, using hands-on experiments and interactive exhibits. The Science Picnic was commended by the European Commission in 2005 as one of 10 model European projects in the "Science and Society" field. The event has served as the inspiration for many other popular science initiatives, including the Copernicus Science Centre in Warsaw.

Solec (Polish pronunciation So-lets) is a neighbourhood along the Vistula river in Warsaw, the capital of Poland. It is situated east of Frascati on the southeastern edge of Downtown and south of the Powiśle suburb. Solec was a self governing settlement and town from 1675 until its incorporation into Warsaw in 1791. The name "Solec" is derived from the Polish word for salt – sól – which was extensively traded and transported through the neighbourhood since the late Middle Ages. However, contemporary Solec is mostly occupied by residential tower blocks and commercial buildings.

The pacification of Powiśle Czerniakowskie was a wave of mass murders, looting, and rapes that swept through Warsaw's Solec district (commonly known as Górny Czerniaków or Powiśle Czerniakowskie) during the Warsaw Uprising. During the fighting on Powiśle Czerniakowskie from 11–23 September 1944, units of the German Reinefarth Combat Group murdered hundreds of captured Home Army soldiers (including many patients from insurgent hospitals) and committed numerous crimes against the civilian population of Górny Czerniaków.

The Asia and Pacific Museum, in Warsaw, Poland, was founded in 1973 from a private collection of Oriental art amassed by Andrzej Wawrzyniak, sailor, diplomat, and connoisseur–collector of Oriental art. After returning to Poland, he donated his collection, numbering over 3,000 objects, to Poland. Thus the Museum of the Nusantara Archipelago was created in Warsaw in 1973. In 1973 the Museum, continually enhanced with objects from oadditional regions of the world, became the Asia and Pacific Museum, with Wawrzyniak as its lifetime director and chief curator. The Museum's holdings include over 20,000 objects from Asia, Australia, and Oceania.

Marshal Edward Rydz-Śmigły Park, often simplified to Marshal Rydz Park (pronounced Ritz), is a major parkland in the historic Frascati and Solec neighbourhoods of central Warsaw, Poland. It is situated in the administrative South Downtown (Śródmieście Południowe) district, on the western bank of the Vistula river. The 53-hectare park opened on 22 July 1955 and was continuously enlarged up until 1964.

The Halina Mikołajska Monument is a monument in Warsaw, Poland, in the Downtown disctict, located in the Marshal Edward Rydz-Śmigły Park near the building of the Senate of Poland. It consists of a bronze statue of Halina Mikołajska (1925–1989), actress and activist of the pro-democratic movement in the Polish People's Republic. The monument was designed by Krystyna Fałdyga-Solska, and unveiled on 4 June 2012.

The Museum of the Earth in Warsaw (pol. Muzeum Ziemi PAN w Warszawie), established in 1948 and continuing a tradition initiated by Earth Museum Society back in 1932, has been operating within the structure of the Polish Academy of Sciences since 1959. The Museum of the Earth is located in two historical buildings at Na Skarpie Avenue in the center of Warsaw, perched on high Vistula escarpment.

The Zbigniew Ścibor-Rylski Monument is a monument in the Marshal Edward Rydz-Śmigły Park in Warsaw, Poland. It is dedicated to Zbigniew Ścibor-Rylski, officer of the Polish Armed Forces, who fought in the Warsaw Uprising during the World War II. It was designed by Marcin Nowicki, and unvailed on 2 August 2019.

The Eliza Orzeszkowa Monument (Polish: Pomnik Elizy Orzeszkowej) is a sandstone sculpture in Warsaw, Poland, located in Na Książecem Park, next to Książeca Street, within the South Downtown neighbourhood. It depicts bust of Eliza Orzeszkowa, a 19-century writer and novelist. The sculpture was designed by Romuald Zerych, and unveiled in January 1958.

The Senate (Polish: Senat) is the upper house of the Polish parliament, the lower house being the Sejm. The history of the Polish Senate stretches back over 500 years; it was one of the first constituent bodies of a bicameral parliament in Europe and existed without hiatus until the final partition of the Polish state in 1795. The contemporary Senate is composed of 100 senators elected by a universal ballot and is headed by Marshal of the Senate (Marszałek Senatu). The incumbent Marshal of the Senate is Tomasz Grodzki. Following a brief period of existence under the Second Polish Republic, the Senate was again abolished by the authorities of the Polish People's Republic. It was not re-established until the collapse of the communist government and reinstatement of democracy in Poland in 1989. The Senate is based in Warsaw and is located in a building which forms part of the Sejm Complex on Wiejska Street, in close proximity to the Three Crosses Square and Ujazdów Castle.

The Jan Nowak-Jeziorański Bench (Polish: Ławeczka Jana Nowaka-Jeziorańskiego) is a bronze statue in Warsaw, Poland, placed in the Marshal Edward Rydz-Śmigły Park in font of a tenement house at 178A Czerniakowska Street. The monument was dedicated to Jan Nowak-Jeziorański (1914–2005), a 20th-century journalist, writer, politician, political scientist, social activist, and soldier, who, during the Second World War, served in the Polish resistance, most notably as remembered for his work as an emissary shuttling between the commanders of the Home Army and the Polish government-in-exile in London and other Allied governments which gained him the nickname, and for his participation in the Warsaw Uprising, and as the head of the Polish section of Radio Free Europe after the war. It was designed by Wojciech Gryniewicz, and unveiled on 19 October 2006.
