Shōtō (松濤) is an upscale residential district of Shibuya, Tokyo, Japan. Located on the southwestern part of Shibuya, this district borders Kamiyamachō on the north, Udagawachō on the east, Dōgenzaka on the southeast, Shinsenchō and Maruyamachō on the south, and Komaba on the west.

The Bunkamura (文化村, Japanese for "cultural enclave") is a concert hall, theater and museum located in Shibuya, Tokyo, Japan, operated by Tokyu Group.

Kamiyama-chō (神山町) is a residential district of southwestern Shibuya, Tokyo, Japan. As of 1 October 2020, it has a population of 2,872 people. Its postal code is 150-0047. Its nearest stations are Yoyogi-Hachiman, Yoyogi Kōen, Shinsen, Shibuya and Harajuku. Famous residents include former Japanese prime ministers Shigeru Yoshida and Tarō Asō. The embassies of Iraq, Jordan, Latvia, Mongolia and New Zealand are in Kamiyama-chō.

Shibuya O-East (しぶや・オーイースト) is a music venue in Dogenzaka Chome, Shibuya, Tokyo, where every week, mostly Japanese bands and musicians perform. The venue was renamed Spotify O-East in December 2021, after a deal with the music-streaming service. It had previously been named Tsutaya O-East, under the terms of an eight-year deal with Culture Convenience Club. It opened as On Air in February 1991, a single venue with capacity for 1,000 people; It changed its name to Shibuya On Air East in 1994, coinciding with the opening of Shibuya On Air West. It was closed in 2002 to be completely renovated and it was re-opened in December 2003 as the Shibuya O-East complex. Since then the Shibuya O-East complex has become home to three separate music venues; the Duo Music Exchange, the O-East and the Shibuya O-Crest. The Duo Music Exchange, a music venue and cafe bar, with a capacity of 700 people (standing) is located on the first floor of the building. The O-East, the main venue, with capacity for 1,300 people, is located between the second and fourth floor of the complex, which includes the main stage, a small bar, and a balcony. The fifth floor is home to another venue, the Shibuya O-Crest a small venue which can accommodate 200 people. Shibuya O-East and its sister venues are owned by the Shibuya-O Group, a subsidiary of Shibuya Television Co., Ltd. Shibuya Television acquired the venues in 2008.

Shinsen Station (神泉駅, Shinsen-eki) is a railway station on the Keio Inokashira Line in Shibuya, Tokyo, Japan, operated by the private railway operator Keio Corporation.

The NHK Broadcasting Center (NHK放送センター, Enueichikei Hōsō Sentā), the headquarters of NHK, is located in Jinnan, Shibuya, Tokyo, Japan. It includes studios and offices, as well as shops and the popular Studio Park, which is a popular attraction for schoolchildren and tourists. Located within the same complex is the NHK Hall, in which performances are regularly held and often televised. The center also hosts offices of international broadcasters, including KBS of South Korea, China Central Television, the Public Broadcasting Service, and the Australian Broadcasting Corporation. A number of NHK-related companies have offices at buildings in nearby streets.

The Japan Broadcasting Corporation (Japanese: 日本放送協会, Hepburn: Nippon Hōsō Kyōkai), also known as NHK, is a Japanese public broadcaster. NHK, which has always been known by this romanized initialism in Japanese, is a statutory corporation funded by viewers' payments of a television license fee. NHK operates two terrestrial television channels (NHK General TV and NHK Educational TV), four satellite television channels (NHK BS1 and NHK BS Premium; as well as two ultra-high-definition television channels, NHK BS4K and NHK BS8K), and three radio networks (NHK Radio 1, NHK Radio 2, and NHK FM). NHK also provides an international broadcasting service, known as NHK World-Japan. NHK World-Japan is composed of NHK World TV, NHK World Premium, and the shortwave radio service Radio Japan (RJ). World Radio Japan also makes some of its programs available on the Internet. NHK was the first broadcaster in the world to broadcast in high-definition (using multiple sub-Nyquist sampling encoding, also known as Hi-Vision) and in 8K.

The February 26 Incident (二・二六事件, Ni Ni-Roku Jiken, also known as the 2-26 Incident) was an attempted coup d'état in the Empire of Japan on 26 February 1936. It was organized by a group of young Imperial Japanese Army (IJA) officers with the goal of purging the government and military leadership of their factional rivals and ideological opponents. Although the rebels succeeded in assassinating several leading officials (including two former prime ministers) and in occupying the government center of Tokyo, they failed to assassinate Prime Minister Keisuke Okada or secure control of the Imperial Palace. Their supporters in the army made attempts to capitalize on their actions, but divisions within the military, combined with Imperial anger at the coup, meant they were unable to achieve a change of government. Facing overwhelming opposition as the army moved against them, the rebels surrendered on 29 February.Unlike earlier examples of political violence by young officers, the coup attempt had severe consequences. After a series of closed trials, nineteen of the uprising's leaders were executed for mutiny and another forty were imprisoned. The radical Kōdō-ha faction lost its influence within the army, while the military, now free from infighting, increased its control over the civilian government, which had been severely weakened by the assassination of key moderate and liberal-minded leaders.

Shibuya Public Hall (Japanese: 渋谷公会堂, Hepburn: Shibuya Kōkaidō) is a theatre located in Shibuya, Tokyo, Japan. It was completed in 1964 to host the weightlifting events in the 1964 Summer Olympics.The theatre was sponsored by Dentsu and Suntory, which paid ¥80 million to rename it C.C. Lemon Hall (after their beverage of the same name) from 2006 to 2011. The hall closed on October 4, 2015, for reconstruction work. It was reopened on October 13, 2019, when it was again renamed; this time as Line Cube Shibuya. The new management team is formed by Amuse, Inc. (representative company), Line Corporation and Pacific Art center until March 31, 2029.

The weightlifting competition at the 1964 Summer Olympics in Tokyo consisted of seven weight classes, all for men only. It also counted as 1964 World Weightlifting Championships.

The NHK Hall is a concert hall located at the NHK Broadcasting Center, the main headquarters of Japan's public broadcaster NHK. The hall is the main venue for the NHK Symphony Orchestra, but it has also played host to other events, such as the 1979 Japan Music Awards, and NHK's annual New Year's Eve special Kōhaku Uta Gassen.
