Le Chateaubriand (French pronunciation: ​[lə ʃɑtobʁijɑ̃]) is a restaurant on Avenue Parmentier in Paris, France. Its chef is Iñaki Aizpitarte. Le Chateaubriand eschews traditional Parisian À la carte menus in favor of prixe fixe offerings, paired with wines which include biodynamic and organic vintages from South Africa, the United States and Georgia. In other words, everything but French wines.In 2008 Le Chateaubriand was selected as the Breakthrough Restaurant in the annual Restaurant magazine poll of chefs and critics. In the 2009 poll, it was voted the 40th best restaurant in the world. In the 2010 poll, it was voted the 11th best restaurant in the world. Most recently, it has climbed into the top 10, ranking in at 9th in 2011.

E-Artsup is a French private school created in 2001 and specialized in digital creativity and multimedia. The school is located at Paris, Bordeaux, Lyon, Nantes, Montpellier, Toulouse, Strasbourg and Lille and is part of IONIS Education Group. The school delivers degrees recognized by French state which last five years. There are approximately 100 graduates per year. It is one of the only universities in France to specialize in digital creativity and multimedia.In April 2015, a new digital and innovative campus has opened in Paris (Le Marais-Bastille) bringing together the ISEG, Sup'Internet, Epitech Digital and e-artsup.

Goncourt (French pronunciation: [ɡɔ̃kuʁ] (listen)) is a station on line 11 of the Paris Métro in the 10th and 11th arrondissements. It is named after the nearby rue des Goncourt, which was named after the writers Edmond de Goncourt (1822–1896) and his brother Jules de Goncourt(1830–1870). Edmond de Goncourt left funds to create the Académie Goncourt which awards the Prix Goncourt literary prize.

The Bataclan (French pronunciation: ​[bataklɑ̃]) is a theatre located at 50 Boulevard Voltaire in the 11th arrondissement of Paris, France. Designed in 1864 by the architect Charles Duval, its name refers to Ba-ta-clan, an operetta by Jacques Offenbach. Since the early 1970s, it has been a venue for rock music. On 13 November 2015, 90 people were killed in a coordinated terrorist attack in the theatre.

The Belleville funicular tramway (French: tramway funiculaire de Belleville) was a cable car which from 1891 to 1924 connected the Place de la République in Paris to the Église Saint-Jean-Baptiste de Belleville, on a hill in the Belleville quarter. It has since been demolished. It was a hybrid of a tramway and a funicular, similar to the famous San Francisco cable car system (started 1873), it was replaced in 1935 by Paris Métro Line 11, running on the same route.

The disastrous Paris Métro train fire occurred on the evening of 10 August 1903, on what was then Line 2 Nord of the system and is now Paris Métro Line 2. There were 84 deaths, most at Couronnes station, so it is also known as the Couronnes Disaster.
