Albis Tunnel

The International School of Zug and Luzern (ISZL) is a private, coeducational, non-profit day school in Switzerland for students aged 3 to 18 in the greater Zurich area. Founded in 1961, the school enrolls about 1,200 students from more than 50 nationalities, aiming to offer an international educational experience through the International Baccalaureate Program (IB). Located in Zug, approximately 34 kilometers from Zurich and 25 kilometers from Lucerne, ISZL currently operates two campuses and also owns a Chalet located in Wengen in the Bernese Alps. Until 2016, the School also had a campus in Lucerne.

Sihlbrugg is a village and important transportation node between the cantons of Zug (ZG) and Zürich (ZH) in Switzerland.

Sihlbrugg is a former railway station in the Swiss Canton of Zürich. It was closed permanently in December 2012, and there are no passenger trains scheduled to stop at the station since then. The station was the terminus of the Sihltal line of SZU (ZVV S4) from 1897 to 2006. Although named after the hamlet of Sihlbrugg, the station is actually located nearly 3 kilometres (1.9 mi) north of the village, in the municipality of Horgen.The station was a junction point between the Swiss Federal Railways (SBB) Thalwil–Arth-Goldau railway, which connects Zug and Zürich Hauptbahnhof, and the Sihltal Zürich Uetliberg Bahn (SZU) line to Zürich via Sihlwald. The SBB line carried both suburban and longer distance services, and the station used to be served by line S21 of the Zürich S-Bahn. The suburban service on the SZU line between Sihlbrugg and Sihlwald was suspended in 2006, and that stretch of line no longer carries regular passenger services.In the summer months, the station is served occasionally by the Zürcher Museums-Bahn heritage railway.

The Sihlwald is a forest and nature reserve in the Sihl Valley of the Swiss canton of Zürich. It is a rare example of a large-scale and original forest, situated on the eastern slopes of the Albis hills to the west side of the Sihl river. Although the forest is owned by the city of Zürich, it is situated outside the city boundary, within the municipality of Horgen and several adjoining municipalities. The Sihlwald now forms part of the Zürich Wilderness Park.The city of Zürich received the Sihl forest, or Sihlwald, as a gift in 1309 from the Hapsburgers and again in 1524 through the dissolution of the Fraumünster convent. Over the following centuries, the forest provided Zürich with timber and firewood. From 1876 on, there was even a forest railway which facilitated the work in the forest. However, the trees have not been felled since the 1990s; this is due to the actions of forest director Andreas Speich, in order to preserve the forest's unique composition. On August 28, 2009, the Federal Office for the Environment declared the Sihl forest a "regional nature park of national importance". The protection of Sihl forest was established through a forest reserve agreement in 2007 and a cantonal Protection Ordinance in 2008. In 2009, the management of the Sihlwald was combined with that of the nearby Langenberg Wildlife Park, to form the Zürich Wilderness Park.The forest can be reached via the Sihlwald railway station, served by service S4 of the Zurich S-Bahn.

Zürich Wilderness Park (German: Wildnispark Zürich) is a wilderness park near the city of Zürich in Switzerland. It includes the Sihlwald forest, the largest mixed deciduous and coniferous forest in the Swiss Mittelland, and the Langenberg Wildlife Park, the oldest Swiss wildlife park. Both sites are situated in the Sihl Valley to the south of Zürich, but are separated from each other by the town of Langnau am Albis.

The Zimmerberg Tunnel is a 1,984-metre (6,509 ft)-long railway tunnel under the Zimmerberg mountain in the Canton of Zurich, Switzerland which opened in 1897.

Kappel Abbey is a former Cistercian monks monastery located in Kappel am Albis in the Swiss canton of Zurich.

The Bürglen (915 m) is the highest mountain of the Albis, a wooded range stretching west of Lake Zurich in the Swiss canton of Zurich. It is located between Hausen am Albis and the valley of the Sihl. The mountain is entirely traversed by a trail running along the crest. South of the Bürglen is the slightly lower summit of the Albishorn (909 m), where there is a panoramic restaurant.

Hirzel is a former municipality in the district of Horgen in the canton of Zürich in Switzerland. On 1 January 2018 the former municipality of Hirzel merged into the municipality of Horgen.

Horgen District is a district of Canton of Zürich in Switzerland. The district is located in the Zimmerberg and Sihl Valley region on the left shore of Lake Zürich; its district capital is Horgen. In the northern part of the district, the municipalities have grown together with the city of Zürich, while in the south-western part, the Sihlwald is the largest contiguous natural mixed deciduous forest on the Swiss Plateau. The district consists of 11 municipalities and has a population of 127,263 (as of 31 December 2020) and an area of 104.16 km2 (40.22 sq mi).
