Sihlbrugg

Neuheim is a municipality in the canton of Zug in Switzerland.

Sihlbrugg is a former railway station in the Swiss Canton of Zürich. It was closed permanently in December 2012, and there are no passenger trains scheduled to stop at the station since then. The station was the terminus of the Sihltal line of SZU (ZVV S4) from 1897 to 2006. Although named after the hamlet of Sihlbrugg, the station is actually located nearly 3 kilometres (1.9 mi) north of the village, in the municipality of Horgen.The station was a junction point between the Swiss Federal Railways (SBB) Thalwil–Arth-Goldau railway, which connects Zug and Zürich Hauptbahnhof, and the Sihltal Zürich Uetliberg Bahn (SZU) line to Zürich via Sihlwald. The SBB line carried both suburban and longer distance services, and the station used to be served by line S21 of the Zürich S-Bahn. The suburban service on the SZU line between Sihlbrugg and Sihlwald was suspended in 2006, and that stretch of line no longer carries regular passenger services.In the summer months, the station is served occasionally by the Zürcher Museums-Bahn heritage railway.

Hirzel is a former municipality in the district of Horgen in the canton of Zürich in Switzerland. On 1 January 2018 the former municipality of Hirzel merged into the municipality of Horgen.

The International School of Zug and Luzern (ISZL) is a private, coeducational, non-profit day school in Switzerland for students aged 3 to 18 in the greater Zurich area. Founded in 1961, the school enrolls about 1,200 students from more than 50 nationalities, aiming to offer an international educational experience through the International Baccalaureate Program (IB). Located in Zug, approximately 34 kilometers from Zurich and 25 kilometers from Lucerne, ISZL currently operates two campuses and also owns a Chalet located in Wengen in the Bernese Alps. Until 2016, the School also had a campus in Lucerne.

Horgen District is a district of Canton of Zürich in Switzerland. The district is located in the Zimmerberg and Sihl Valley region on the left shore of Lake Zürich; its district capital is Horgen. In the northern part of the district, the municipalities have grown together with the city of Zürich, while in the south-western part, the Sihlwald is the largest contiguous natural mixed deciduous forest on the Swiss Plateau. The district consists of 11 municipalities and has a population of 127,263 (as of 31 December 2020) and an area of 104.16 km2 (40.22 sq mi).

Hirzel Pass, elevation 672 metres (2,205 ft), is a mountain pass in the Alps between the cantons of Zürich and Zug in Switzerland. It connects Wädenswil and Sihlbrugg, and the summit is in the municipality of Hirzel.

The Sihlwald is a forest and nature reserve in the Sihl Valley of the Swiss canton of Zürich. It is a rare example of a large-scale and original forest, situated on the eastern slopes of the Albis hills to the west side of the Sihl river. Although the forest is owned by the city of Zürich, it is situated outside the city boundary, within the municipality of Horgen and several adjoining municipalities. The Sihlwald now forms part of the Zürich Wilderness Park.The city of Zürich received the Sihl forest, or Sihlwald, as a gift in 1309 from the Hapsburgers and again in 1524 through the dissolution of the Fraumünster convent. Over the following centuries, the forest provided Zürich with timber and firewood. From 1876 on, there was even a forest railway which facilitated the work in the forest. However, the trees have not been felled since the 1990s; this is due to the actions of forest director Andreas Speich, in order to preserve the forest's unique composition. On August 28, 2009, the Federal Office for the Environment declared the Sihl forest a "regional nature park of national importance". The protection of Sihl forest was established through a forest reserve agreement in 2007 and a cantonal Protection Ordinance in 2008. In 2009, the management of the Sihlwald was combined with that of the nearby Langenberg Wildlife Park, to form the Zürich Wilderness Park.The forest can be reached via the Sihlwald railway station, served by service S4 of the Zurich S-Bahn.

Horgen Oberdorf railway station (German: Horgen Oberdorf) is a railway station in Switzerland, situated in the town of Horgen. The station is located on the Thalwil–Arth-Goldau railway and is served by the S24 line of the Zürich S-Bahn.Horgen station should not be confused with the nearby, but lower level, Horgen railway station, which is on the Lake Zürich left bank railway line. The two stations are approximately 0.9 kilometres (0.56 mi) apart on foot.

Bocken Estate (German: Landgut Bocken) is a country estate in the municipality of Horgen of the Swiss canton of Zurich. It is a Swiss heritage site of national significance.From 1912 on Alfred Emil Schwarzenbach, a wealthy businessman in the silk industry and his wife Renée Schwarzenbach-Wille, horsewoman and amateur photographer, lived here with their family of five children. One of their daughters, novelist, travel journalist and photographer Annemarie Schwarzenbach grew up on the estate.

Horgen is a municipality in the district of Horgen in the canton of Zürich in Switzerland. It is one of the larger towns along the south bank of the Lake of Zurich. On 1 January 2018 the former municipality of Hirzel merged into the municipality of Horgen.

Horgen railway station is a railway station in Switzerland, situated on the banks of Lake Zürich in the town of Horgen. The station is located on the Lake Zürich left bank railway line and is served by lines S2 and S8 of the Zürich S-Bahn.The station provides an integrated transfer facility with the buses of the Zimmerberg bus line, which operate from a bus station immediately adjacent to the railway station. Ships of the Zürichsee-Schifffahrtsgesellschaft call at a pier on the lakeside immediately adjacent to the station, whilst the Horgen–Meilen car ferry operates from a terminal some 600 metres (2,000 ft) to the south-east along the lakeside promenade. Horgen station should not be confused with the nearby, but higher level, Horgen Oberdorf railway station, which is on the Thalwil–Arth-Goldau railway. The two stations are approximately 0.9 kilometres (0.56 mi) apart on foot.
