The Boys' Brigade in Singapore is a youth uniformed group organisation and part of the global Boys' Brigade movement which has been present in Singapore since 1930. It currently consists of over 700 officers and 6,300 Boys in over 116 companies. Its current Brigade President is Poh Leong Berg and its Honorary President is Lieutenant-General (Ret) Winston Choo, the former Chief of Defence Force of the Singapore Armed Forces. The Boys' Brigade in Singapore celebrated its 90th Anniversary in 2020 and has the distinguished honour of having the President of Singapore as its Patron.

Great World, formerly known as Great World City, is a mixed-used development consisting of a 6-storey shopping mall, two 18-storey office towers and a 35-storey serviced apartment tower in the Central Area of Singapore. Located between Kim Seng and Zion Roads, near River Valley Road and Kim Seng Promenade, it was built on the former site of Great World Amusement Park. The East Office Tower of Great World houses the Embassy of Kazakhstan on the 9th floor of the building.

The Great World Amusement Park (Chinese: 大世界) also known locally as "Tua Seh Kai" in Hokkien, was the second of three former amusement parks in Singapore, along with New World (established 1923) and Gay World (established 1936). It was established in 1929 and closed down in 1978. It provided entertainment and leisure to people, catering especially to the middle and lower income groups of citizens in the past.

The Kampong Delta Mosque commonly known as Masjid Kampong Delta is located in the Tiong Bahru neighbourhood of the Central Region, Singapore. The mosque was built in 1975 to replace a previous surau (Muslim prayer house) that stood in the same place and has been expanded into a two-storey structure ever since. It is one of Singapore's smallest mosques, alongside the Surau Al Firdaus.

Great World MRT station is an upcoming underground Mass Rapid Transit station on the Thomson-East Coast Line at the boundary of River Valley and Singapore River planning areas, Singapore. The station is named after the Great World shopping mall, which is located near this station.

The Bukit Ho Swee fire was a conflagration that broke out in the squatter settlement of Bukit Ho Swee, Singapore on 25 May 1961. This fire resulted in 4 deaths and injured another 54. It also destroyed more than 2,800 houses around the Bukit Ho Swee area, leaving around 16,000 people homeless. The cause of this conflagration was never established. The Bukit Ho Swee fire was the biggest outbreak of fire in Singapore's history.The fire was a pivotal point in Singapore's contemporary history. The scale of the destruction sparked an emergency project to swiftly construct accommodation and resettle the people affected by the disaster. This first public housing project, led by the newly formed Housing and Development Board, would eventually lead the way to the development of public housing throughout the country in decades to come.

Havelock MRT station is a future underground Mass Rapid Transit station on the Thomson–East Coast line in Bukit Merah planning area, Singapore. It will be located around the Bukit Ho Swee residential estate, Tan Boon Liat Building and Holiday Inn.

The Wetterling Teo Gallery is one of the first international contemporary art galleries to operate in South-East Asia. Established in 1994, the gallery is the result of a joint venture between Wetterling Gallery in Sweden, and Daniel Teo in Singapore.It represents top American artists — such as Jasper Johns, Roy Lichtenstein, James Rosenquist, Robert Rauschenberg and Frank Stella — and pioneers of the POP generation such as the British artists David Hockney, Allen Jones and Richard Hamilton. The gallery has worked with these established artists for more than ten years and, as a result, has formed close friendships with them, enabling it to bring their newest and best work to this region as well as to its partner gallery Wetterling in Sweden.

Kaki Bukit is an industrial area located in Bedok in the East Region of Singapore. It is home to many high tech industrial companies and warehouses. There used to be a prison complex called Kaki Bukit Centre, which was converted to a prison school in 2000, however it has since moved to Tanah Merah and the Acacia Welfare Home now stands in its place. On the south of Kaki Bukit is Jalan Tenaga and Jalan Damai neighbourhoods of Bedok Reservoir Road. Redevelopments are in the pipeline for Kaki Bukit beyond 2030 when Paya Lebar Airbase located just north of the estate relocates to Changi. Not only would land be freed up for use but building height restrictions, that are currently in place for safety reasons because the estate is directly aligned with the airbase runway, would also be lifted. Kaki Bukit is classified by Urban Redevelopment Authority (URA) as a subzone under the planning area of Bedok, its boundaries differ from the constituency boundaries used by the Singapore Parliament.

Bukit Ho Swee (Chinese: 河水山) is a subzone within the planning area of Bukit Merah, Singapore, as defined by the Urban Redevelopment Authority (URA). Its boundary is made up of the Alexandra Canal in the north; Kim Seng Road and Outram Road in the east; Zion Road and Jalan Bukit Ho Swee in the south; Delta Road and Lower Delta Road in the west.

The Tiong Bahru bus hijacking occurred on 29 November 1979 in Singapore. Two armed men, in an attempt to escape arrest for an earlier robbery, took hostages and then hijacked a bus, while exchanging gunfire with police. The incident ended when one of the men was wounded then committed suicide, and the other surrendered to the authorities.

Tiong Bahru Secondary School (TBSS, 立道中学), established in 1966 and merged with Delta Secondary School in 1991, was one of the first bilingual integrated (混合中学) secondary schools built after Singapore Independence (August 9, 1965). It had both Chinese and English streams, attracting students from nearby primary schools in Tiong Bahru, Bukit Ho Swee and Delta Road areas.
